Thank you for posting this video, it was nice for me to see how the lens cap worked before deciding to purchase it. I was wondering where you got your camera case, I like that it has the ability to take a photo without removing the camera completely from the case, if you could point me in the direction of where I could purchase one that would be wonderful, thank you.
@Techmoan Thanks! A little off topic. I was thinking of buying a Lumix LX5 but it's a little big to put in my pocket and also an expensive camera.
Do you recommend me that camera or there are something similar/better but with smaller size? I'm looking for a semi DSLR camera that also replace my camcorder and can take anywhere. The Canon S95 maybe is an alternative but it has worse video recording at 24fps and lacks of zoom and autofucus while recording. Any hint?
@lob0corder0 The LX5 is pretty big compared to a normal compact camera. If I was buying today I'd be choosing between the S95, the Sony NEX3, the Olympus EPL1. For a normal compact I'd get the Lumix TZ8 or TZ10 (for the GPS). In fact I got a TZ10 a couple of months ago and am loving it. To me it's image quality is as good as I need. I still use a separate camcorder though. I did make a 10 min film on the TZ10 and it looked good - not sure if the zoom/focus features work whilst recording though.
@murasaki900723 I'm awaiting a new cap in the post from HK - someone told me the seller was selling 2nd Gen caps - I'll let you know the details if this is true when it arrives.
@Techmoan ooh,i know about that,i got read from ur blog~i not sure that wheater is out of not,its a good thing that i ask you~btw,im one of the lx3 family~XD
@MrRob502 It's the official Panasonic case. It's model name is DMW-CLX3 It's an expensive case so I got mine on Ebay from Hong Kong where it was a bit cheaper.
Unfortunately I found out later that some vignetting is visible when zoomed in after I took a picture against a white wall - following the suggestion of someone on my blog. It's not bad, but it is there.

hey, very nice demo. i like that you showed sample pics too. just confirms what other people notice, that there is some vignetting at the longer zoom

it seems that the cap won't create vignette, is there any sort of light lost? since it does looks like the cap cover up part of the lens?

@kuroe702 actually it does create vignetting
