To think that Matt McGinn wrote this and released it on an album in 1972 and in Scotland where homosexuality was a crime up until 1981. Matt was a hero.
@undercoverbrother67 Lenin legalized homosexuality just after the Russian revolution. He also legalized abortion, and made Jews normal citizens. This is an unspoken truth. Stalin thought that homosexuals were ill and perverted, and he tried to make them "disappear", he unlegalized abortion. Who between the two is a real Communist? Who should you trust?
@Chomuno That's simple. Lenin was the true communist... it's Leninism you should trust over Stalinism. Stalin's totalitarian approach to communism was harmful in many ways. However, Lenin was far more the purest as far as I'm concerned.
@undercoverbrother67 Yes, I know. I was just presenting that message to other people, who are not understanding that the deaths of the USSR are caused by a totalitarian dictatorship based on the greed for power and the will to have it, not by the BEST SYSTEM in the World.
That's hilarious... I'm only discovering Matt McGinn. I knew of Mary Whitehouse, but not much of Malcolm Muggeridge, however, a quick search and now reading his principles, I really love how witty this piece is. Matt McGinn's fantastic... I'm off to discover more...
Thanks for posting, Big Manio. For those of us who are a bit too young to remember, Mary and Malcolm were Mary Whitehouse and Malcolm Muggeridge, and there is a reference to Cliff Richard in here too. Great, colourful video !
That's who it is. Wow. I didn't know Malcolm was a theocrat. I knew he wrote some things on the Holodomor/Ukrainian Famine. As an American who studies a lot of Soviet historical and foreign policy issues as an Academic. That's actually the only thing for which I have heard of him.
Ah'm gonnae be whistlin this on the way home. I just hope nobody asks whit I'm whistlin

This song was written before anyone in the video was out of diapers (except maybe for the mayor of Berlin).

Thanks for the post. Funny song and silly vid (but it works).
I had this on an LP y-e-a-r-s ago and couldn't remember who sung it.
When it came up in a conversation about "offensive" records with another collector we did a quick Google search brought us here.
