  • Nice Job, Thanks !!!

  • Darlin` I wanna know..................I miss you so.

Best played while in the bath, candles around the room...mime along to the high bits....and chill. What a great song and such a good feeling!

  • Like the men on Ullyssy's ship, I feel the need to be tied down, so that I won't rapture when I hear this music. He, to me, was singing about the kingdom of heaven, and love. I think there are some very jealous people out there.

  • One of my all time favourite songs ever... Just stunning, beautiful and uplifting. Love it

  • Gorgeous, heartfelt, incredible.

  • I suppose that of all the many songs I love, this speaks to me the most. Why must we only appreciate talent after the artist is gone? Where were the angels when he was in need? I'd like to fire them all.

  • @donalynette I used to be hellishly sad for so long, listening to Tim and realising that he was dead, but then I discovered 'Because of You' and something changed.

The weird thing was that I started to feel that he wasn't dead at all, but out there somewhere in the ether - which for SURE his voice and music still are! So at the very least he lives on as a thought form, which can be very powerful.

So he is alive and wooing our ears.

You wanting to fire the angels was very funny. :)

  • Tim - I´ll never forget this song, it`s me...

  • Perfect. Perfect. What a gift this song and performance is.

  • Probably the best song ever written ...

  • @garthzares It's up there undoubtedly. The first thing I ever heard about 'Buzzin' Fly' was that it was probably Tim's most commercially known song, and one he came to later resent and avoided playing it. To me, someone who's only gotten into him the last couple years, I agree...it's a brilliant song. But I'm a real fan of Happy/Sad anyway, more so than anything else he did. Strange Feeling...Love From Room 109...Dream Letter...that's a solid bunch of tracks. I love the freedom of it too...

  • The idea that Tim and his band are stood round playing this, as is often reported. I thought this was the pinnacle until I heard him on that live in London '68 LP...he kicks up Buzzin' Fly and it's a real hairs on the back of your neck moment, a testament to rock 'n' roll, but most of all, a record that really makes you GLAD to be alive, breathing air. Am I overstating it? Haha.

  • @burnsybaby1987 Nah... Tim Buckley's work can never, ever be overstated. ;)

I know it was a rhetorical question but I felt compelled to comment nevertheless. ;)

  • I like thisont

  • I want to know everything about you.

  • It;s still buzzing in my head when I hear this song. A long time ago me and my brother listened to the record on and on. We never heard something like this before, We both got tears in our eyes and from that time we bought all te records of Tim. Died to soon, but is still in our hearts

  • This is about the twenty-second time I have listened to this song today! Beauty unsurpassed!!!

  • Walking down Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley and seeing this in the window of a record store in 1969 - little did I know that 42 years later it would still be a part of my very being...

  • My uncle posted this to me as a musical present, isnt it fantastic. Its the best musical pressie I have had in a long long time.

  • "You're an idiot.... play a record"

  • Awesomatastic!!!!

  • so beautiful

  • Fucking Fantastic. That's all....

  • Sublime music...always makes me feel good...happy and young again!

Darlin, I wanna know...........how the sun shone down.....sometimes in the morning, I miss you so....I miss you so......

  • Sublime music...always makes me feel good...happy and young again!

    Darlin, I wanna know.........

  • Sublime music...always makes me feel good...happy and young again!

  • I hated that my name was Tim, until I discovered Tim Buckley.

  • @BlackSabbathory I hated that my name was Buzzin' Fly:( until I discovereed this song :)

  • "... MANmoths?!"

  • @srimecrime

    Karl?

  • heard this in Bath having just met really nice girl , somrthing special more than just looks, and this always reminds me of devon savouries area in town centre.

  • one of the best songs of all time. to bad he od'd at such an early age. I'm sure he had alot music left in him

  • beautiful. i can hear the stone roses' i am the resurrection at the start. i suppose if ur stealin you may as well as steal from the best.

  • @sratus wow, that was such a good call!

  • Lee Underwoods guitar work is amazing in this piece as well.

  • 1969, it was a VERY good year. I's just a boy, smack dab in the middle of Kansas, a sophomore in high school. Never heard anything like it before, and guess what? There is still NOTHING like it! Love it.

  • Comparing himself to a fly and recognizing nature totally. this song has been in my head for 19 years now. Buckley's!! Saw Jeff once accidentally, awesome!

  • The ultimate song to put on when you get up...fix a coffee and let Happy/Sad blare out I say.

  • Underrated ain't the half of it.

    Virtually forgotten.

    Criminal.

  • chill out music.

  • I could swear I remember a Richie Havens version of this....right?

  • @PeluMaad I don't recall Ritchie Havens ever covering this but back in 1969 both of them were my idols.

  • love this still 40 years after I heard it for the first time.

  • The purety of this song leaves me speechless. My brother gave me Happy/Sad for my 15th Birthday in 1975. I was into Deep Purple/ Sabbath etc. I heard 'Buzzin' Fly' and didn't know what hit me. The longing tone of his etherial voice...the desperate and lovely words...how could he ever be lonely? Yet, it was the lonliest song I'd ever heard up until that time and perhaps ever. What a gift to me. My bro still doesn't know how it changed my life...the sonvabitch!

  • This song just puts the biggest smile on my face and always will. Pure poetry in motion
