Why not pickup the body armor and weapons from the dead guys a plate from a vest can stop a 12gauge slug from 0 meters im pritty shure that would comein handy hell not like the dead guys will use them but w/e just a show I guess and the grean screan is bad but so what dame it's a show get over it.

The 12 gauge slug has an advertised muzzle velocity of 1560 fps from a 2 3/4" high-brass shell, 1680 fps from a 2 3/4" Magnum shell, or 1760 fps from a 3" Magnum shell. No vest will stop that. vests are good for handgun rounds which are only around 1120 fps muzzle volocity. not to mention the kevlar is wound anti clockwise to entagle a spinning bullet from a rifled barrel, most shotgun barrels aren't rifled.

Take a closer look at those vests, they are plate carriers, meaning a SAPI plate (Small Arms Protection Insert) gets inserted inside, which will stop most small arms fire. That and the fact that a smaller round has a better chance of going through the vest in the first place. (Try shoving a needle through a pair of jeans and then try using a pen).

Its a really good futuristic series. they also made a movie called Serenity.

Firefly was kind of a SCIFI/Western television series that only lasted about 13 episodes. It was a really good show created by Joss Wheadon of Buffy fame. It follows the crew of a small freighter (firefly class) that does odd jobs and crimes to survive. The ship was named Serenity after the worst battle in a civil war that the captain and first mate managed to survive, although they lost the war. They held Serenity Valley way longer than anyone ever thought they would.
