  • It's almost 2012 and Small Engine Repair is still sitting on a shelf, not released. Why? Can't someone just leak the god damn thing online if nobody else, including the band and record companies, don't give a shit?

  • Holy shit.I remember seeing these guys at The Croc N Seatlle a small club and they ripped it up.good memory

  • @zildjian1028 Clint Werner is the one with the Les Paul.

The one with the SG is Wade Neal.

  • this is real music

  • Wow. Still a great song.

  • 0 dislikes ftw.

  • @zildjian1028 Oh yeah, that was the release year. I just remember hearing this in the end of my freshman year, '96.

  • 1996 <3

  • Great power pop. Saw them 5 times or so in the 90's.

  • they should change the name to Dickweed

  • gotta fucking love it

  • One of my favorite songs of the 90s but wow I gotta say the video sucks! The carnival-mirror effect gets old real quick and by the end of the thing I was feeling nauseous- is it just me?

  • is that Eric Byrnes singing??? :)

  • Fuckin loved this CD. Thumbs up for posting this.

  • these song reeks of the mid 90s these were great times look at everyone's hair lol and the clothes...

  • so much emotion in one song. fuckin beautiful

  • ah, I bought the CD when it came out, what 15 years ago? The insert smelt like hemp.

  • @cityofwalls That is absolutely true. Amazing record.

  • HAHA my dad punched Aaron in the face when they were in high school

  • saw this band in houston back in 93 or 94 when they opened up for Candlebox!!!! First band I ever seen live!!! the best experience ever!!!!!! Spanaway!!!!!

  • not well known enough. this song rocks

  • Why are these guys so undeservedly underrated?!!!

This band had me hooked from their early 90 self-titled EP with greats like Carousel and Against the Sky.

This piece and accompanying album are of course awesome.

A west coast band that back in the hey-day of post-punk emotive core managed somehow to blend the the grit of Washington, the emotion coming out of the Bay Area, and the sound of DC - just masterful really - REALLY!

  • This song will never get old.

  • Yeah, Clint Werner recorded and produced the first record I made with band Weight of the World. He was great to work with. Very modest and cool as hell.

  • Spanaway was a damn good album.

  • spanaway is fucken great

  • It says in the description they're from Tacoma...

  • i'm a girl but i like this song so much!!

    never heard before!

    these guys rocks!!

    :D

  • Wow, these guys are soooo underated its unbelivable!!

  • Great video.

  • Visualize Tacoma!

  • Seaweeds not from Seattle their from Tacoma

  • First concert I ever went to....Seaweed had just released Spanaway and Candlebox were the headliners. I had never heard of Seaweed at the time, but it quickly became clear they were amazing live.....still one of my favorite concert experiences. Candlebox seemed flat after the great show Seaweed had delivered.

  • Saw them at the first Vans Warped tour in 95 at the CU campus in Boulder. They were on this little side stage and there were like maybe 20 people there when they started to play. All my friends were off checkin out Orange 9mm or somethin. I felt like I was the only one who knew who they were. Freakin awesome performance though. I also saw Sublime and No Doubt play together.

  • These guys rock ! Where are they from ?

  • Seattle

  • they are from t town used to share a practice pad in the old hidelberg brewery

  • @iceste1975 I stand corrected...Thanx. A lot of their songs talk about that area so I just assumed. But you know what they say about Assuming. You make an Ass out of u and me. lol

  • classic

  • Wish there was a video for Free Drug Zone

  • @Buddhist2k yeah that song was really good

  • Their such an amazing band. I love Seaweed. I can't wait to here the new album, whenever it comes out.

  • awesome, i am glad to hear they've reunited!

  • Wow this always brings me back loved this song

  • A long time fan of Seaweed, I have to say that Aaron Stauffer's singing voice is quite similar to Daniel DeSanto's speaking voice.

  • This is my favorite band ever. I got their "Weak" tape for free through a Thrasher subscription back in '93 and I've been hooked ever since. I'd give just about anything to see them live but I live in Albuquerque now instead of Portland,OR, which is where I grew up and as far as I know, they never come here.

  • seen this band 8 times (in the 90s) they kick ass

  • This song is one of the reasons why spanaway is so FRIGGIN ADICTIVE.

Crap bands like seaweed never have gigs in Portugal :\

  • i tunes i such a piece of sh*t for not having that album, as usual.

  • True that....

  • Spanaway stills gets heavy rotation in my house.

Such a sound they owned. It gets stuck in your head and makes you feel better for it.

    Thanks, Seaweed and Seaweed fans.

  • spanaway is a wonderful album, i wore the cassette out due to extensive overplaying :)

  • when it started the vocals seemed kinda bland, but when the chorus hit me i feel i was in a euhporia for the rest of the song! kickin band

  • Ahhh.. The Spanaway Album is a MASTERPIECE!

  • Anyone know where I can find tabs for this song?

  • They played this at the show last night. Fucking awesome.

  • Spanaway still ranks in my top five records. Start With is such an awsome song.

  • thanks for this I never knew this existed till now!!!!

  • could never get enuff !! It was just a song way back than... now it speaks to me on another level... had I only paid more attention to the lyrics LOL

  • Yeah, thanks for posting!!!!!

I love Seaweed and this song!

I bought all their records over the years!

  • thankyou seaweed!

  • YAAA GRUNGES NOT DEAD!!

  • Seaweed is a punk band. Sorry, but it's true.

  • This song kicks ass, how the hell is this band not mainstream???

  • super good as always ! Sergios gitarrs rock !

  • I still have weak on clear green vinyl stuffed away somewhere. I have no record player, but it just isn't right to get rid of the album. Still my all time fave!

  • This album and specially this song, changed my life. This is a powerfull song. Brillant!!!

  • Spanaway was in my CD player the entire year of 1995. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.

  • Do you still love it?

  • It's a first time I see this video, after so many years... Great.

  • i wish grunge was still as big now as it wasmback in the 90's music nowadays just isnt quite the same

  • fuck...why havent i ever seen this!!!!!

  • Great song, they just sound like being happy about their music, I love it

  • seaweed rocks man

  • Great song!

I remember my access to this song was via a sampler called Grip Tape.

Glad you uploaded the vid. Been looking for this for a while. Thanks!

  • Aaron's one of my favourite vocalists...I remember buying "Weak" on cassette in Bellingham back in the day. An inquisitive customs officer asked me what kind of music it was as I reported it for duty. Had a hard time explaining that one...

  • Brilliant!!!

  • Funny that their most rarely seen video was from their major label release.

    Tragically underrated band.

  • i think one of the MOST underrated bands of that time. loved the cover of fleetwood macs "go your own way" on one of their singles

  • fucking werd man...thats the most understated statment. haha your sooo right though

  • What? they had a vid for this?? No way!!

    Seaweed rocks!

  • @jaketheman091
