It's almost 2012 and Small Engine Repair is still sitting on a shelf, not released. Why? Can't someone just leak the god damn thing online if nobody else, including the band and record companies, don't give a shit?
One of my favorite songs of the 90s but wow I gotta say the video sucks! The carnival-mirror effect gets old real quick and by the end of the thing I was feeling nauseous- is it just me?
saw this band in houston back in 93 or 94 when they opened up for Candlebox!!!! First band I ever seen live!!! the best experience ever!!!!!! Spanaway!!!!!
This band had me hooked from their early 90 self-titled EP with greats like Carousel and Against the Sky.
This piece and accompanying album are of course awesome.
A west coast band that back in the hey-day of post-punk emotive core managed somehow to blend the the grit of Washington, the emotion coming out of the Bay Area, and the sound of DC - just masterful really - REALLY!
Yeah, Clint Werner recorded and produced the first record I made with band Weight of the World. He was great to work with. Very modest and cool as hell.
First concert I ever went to....Seaweed had just released Spanaway and Candlebox were the headliners. I had never heard of Seaweed at the time, but it quickly became clear they were amazing live.....still one of my favorite concert experiences. Candlebox seemed flat after the great show Seaweed had delivered.
Saw them at the first Vans Warped tour in 95 at the CU campus in Boulder. They were on this little side stage and there were like maybe 20 people there when they started to play. All my friends were off checkin out Orange 9mm or somethin. I felt like I was the only one who knew who they were. Freakin awesome performance though. I also saw Sublime and No Doubt play together.
@iceste1975 I stand corrected...Thanx. A lot of their songs talk about that area so I just assumed. But you know what they say about Assuming. You make an Ass out of u and me. lol
This is my favorite band ever. I got their "Weak" tape for free through a Thrasher subscription back in '93 and I've been hooked ever since. I'd give just about anything to see them live but I live in Albuquerque now instead of Portland,OR, which is where I grew up and as far as I know, they never come here.
I still have weak on clear green vinyl stuffed away somewhere. I have no record player, but it just isn't right to get rid of the album. Still my all time fave!
Aaron's one of my favourite vocalists...I remember buying "Weak" on cassette in Bellingham back in the day. An inquisitive customs officer asked me what kind of music it was as I reported it for duty. Had a hard time explaining that one...

A long time fan of Seaweed, I have to say that Aaron Stauffer's singing voice is quite similar to Daniel DeSanto's speaking voice.
