  • would have been a good porno too

  • scary and arousing. scarerousing.

  • Still don't get the kissing.

  • @sjdhfue She was probably curious and knew she'd get resurrected by the nearest resurrection ship. If anything I think the kiss was put in there to make the Cylon's even more mysterious to viewers - I'd say it worked nicely

  • Love this show. Love Caprica. Such good television.

  • Why Colonials send that officer alone with out marines escort ?

  • @xsf908 Remember this is after forty years since the war, they may not have thought that the cylons would come. maybe they did send marine escorts in the first few years.

  • Une ouverture MONUMENTALE !!! un chef d'oeuvre

  • Does anyone have the scene after this one. With the intro to galactica? I really like that one.

  • Caprica was good also and the second half of the series explains a lot of things. Unfortunately, it never lasted.

  • The Colonial officer shouldn't have brought photos of his wife and son.

  • @matt543284732 I have that feeling watching Stargate.

  • I cannot believe that's Sanctuary's Ryan Robbins!

  • a very mesmorizing scene was the one from the series. As good as a scene from Blade Runner when Rachael meets Deckard

  • No, I want the next part, with the AMAZING drums music!

  • @HIPERMEGAMUNDOCOMPU: Exactly!

  • @andersdenkend hey dude. I resolved this problem bi myself: /watch?v=5OMRZrNuUjI

  • The pilot's final scene was amazing too -- there was something trascendental about seeing all those clones walking in... and the Boomer reveal.. wow! I'm having a geekasm...

  • are u alive

  • @xfactoruk2004 If you have a netflix account you can watch it through their watch instantly program. Every single season, in HD.

  • I noticed how they set up the shot that Six sits down on the desk and blocks the officer's family pics.

  • This show just started over on skyatlantic, but they've skipped the pilot miniseries, anyone know where I can watch for free online? Online tv seems to have been cleaned up a bit lately :(

  • This series is the best of its kind! Battlestar Galactica is a good match to the glorious ancestors, Asimov, Clarke, etc. Battlestar Galactica represents a whole new generation of Science Fiction. This series was amazing, it was genuine and brilliant! It's not just the best sci-fi series I've ever seen (and trust me, Stargate, the Star Trek of my era is not that easy to beat) but it's the best drama too. It's a shame Caprica was cancelled, but I can't wait fo Blood&Chrome!

  • I don't think they expected the Cylons to show. I mean it was more of a formality than anything, obviously the Colonials attiude towards the Cylons were as Six said "Racist." I mean frakin toasters..

  • Colonials send only one officer but no marines ?

  • So humans have been sending one man each year hundreds of milllions of miles across the galaxy - alone.... I wonder how they choose from the crush of applicants?

  • @atrios28 I guess there was a marine squad in the space ship.

  • That's one ugly ass dress

  • wonder what those centurions are thinking while six is making out with the dude. "boopbeboop, just optimizing my subroutines... wow this is awkward i wish she would stop mushing her face into his... really gotta polish my carapace later, oh wait they're gonna blow us up anyway"

  • @immortalass the centurions look scary. This scene definitely seems awesome, and I think i might just start watching this much talked-about show.

  • finally gonna start watching this series. dont know why i never did before. netflix has most of it streaming now

  • @dh4645 You will like it. As a giant fan of Sci Fi, I can honestly tell you that this show was amazing on so many levels.

  • Is it just me or does the colonial officer look like Keir Dullea (2001), at least in the first side shots... Uncanny resemblance, I tell ya!

  • @gedandrews Who is Keir Dullea? I thought that this colonial officer looks familiar from somewhere

  • @408thefourzeroeight Sorry, He's Dave from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The one who has conversations with the onboard computer HAL.

  • Often times, Tricia Helfer's performance was so effective... it was creepy. I think she is one of the reasons that the Cylons were initially so intimidating and terrifying.

  • @erentheca One of the reasons I loved her performance is that anyone else would have played the sexual model in a 2 dimensional way. Six's were so nuanced and layered - more like Cleopatra than a Playboy Bunny. She also had this underlying venerability, Monroe -esque. It goes to show how taking a risk on an unknown can achieve something great.

  • Fuckin traitors human making out with robo woman already!

  • @angrywinds What robo woman? All I see is a toaster.

  • So... Six versus the Terminatrix... who wins? :)

  • @ShadesOfKnight Six.^^

  • @ShadesOfKnight any man watching

  • @ShadesOfKnight I would put my money on Six. Terminatrix may be stronger and can morph - but Six is pretty cunning and would figure out some sneaky way to win a fight.

  • dear robots why did you send robots on and then blow it up that makes no sense silly robots

  • @zizznatch But, Cylons can resurecting.

  • I said it before, but Ragnar Anchorage looks like a sardine can, while the base ship looks like a ginormous anvil. With nuclear missiles.

  • @knoxvilleguy2 Because it is an old station... and Cylons do not come so "no credit".^^

  • You know..now that I think about it.. why just send one officer? LOL.

  • i think i need to watch this series again

  • An amazing opening for an amazing show.

  • 2:00

I always thought that was Roslin in the photo, so for ages I was really confused.

  • Nice opening!!

  • yeah i bet its the lighting too...

  • So strange how she looked older here than later. I guess it's because of the lighting.

  • @Mrster

What are you talking about? Tricia looks more beautiful and younger here than in the series.

  • Really though. I think it's because of the lighting.

  • as they'd say at the TYRELL CORPORATION, 'MORE HUMAN THAN HUMAN'! love you Number 6!!!

  • @goatboyful

I always wanted to do a fanvid of that song to BSG! LOL

  • which song? iff i was clever enough to do a fanvid myself, i would use 'Venus', by Shocking Blue. like they did in the Brady Bunch movie with Marsha. but yeah, great lady!!

  • @goatboyful

Rob Zombie did a song using that phrase from Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep which became the Bladerunner movie. At that time his band was White Zombie.

  • i can't say i'm a fan of the guy, so i'll let that one slide.

  • This is the best sci fi series opening that I have ever seen BSG was such a unique and interesting series, I have never seen anything like it! I cannot wait for Caprica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @seancuk23 You took the words right of my mouth.

  • @seancuk23 . . . And Caprica sucks. =[

  • yeah the colonies had been infiltrated at least two years before this scene happened by the seven models. Caprica six met baltar two years ago and boomer was commisioned aboard the galactica 2 years ago with false records. However ellen Tigh was put on the colonies by cavil at least 30 years before this scene and she got around if you know what I mean.

  • are you alive?

  • This is the first time a Cylon humanoid female met someone not of her own race. An actual, living, male human.

Needless to say, I'm sure there's something she hasn't experienced yet and wants to badly.

  • nah mate, it can't be! this incident occurs on the day of the attack's. and we know Caprica 6, had been humping Baltar for two years! this may be the first time this specific #6 had met a flesh and blood human, but the buggers had been on Caprica and the other Colonies for quite some time. it's my favourite scene in all of BSG!

  • Not really. I'm pretty sure that awards belongs to D'Anna, because she taunted Bulldog, the pilot that Adama betrayed.

  • @ChaationBergin

" More human than human " - I almost feel like they should have worked Eldon Tyrell in there SOMEHOW, after referring to humanoid Cylons as " Skin Jobs ". Brother Cavil seemed like a slightly calmer, more cynical version of Roy Batty.

  • @ChaationBergin First time this Cylon meet a human. There were already Cylons on Caprica plotting the attacks.

  • Are you really saying Galactica 1980 is better? Richard Hatch didn't even come back for that one.

  • Its more than the naked eye can see.

A machine is asking a human if he is alive.

A human is different from other living beings for the fact we have a soul and that we can express feelings. The signature human feeling would be love, and a kiss its is representation.

So, by kissing, she demonstrate they are both equal.

  • @JasdelMal oh, we have a soul, do we... how do you arrive at this fallacious logical conclusion?

  • Well at least he got blown up french kissing six.

  • & then perhaps decide to attack Earth, when they recall their past in the Colonies.

    It could happen.

  • 4:27

    Camera abuse with no camera.

  • Made famous and done so well by Mr Joss Whedon in Firefly.

  • Because it's a fucking tv show?

  • why not colonials attack cylon home world after first cylon war

  • Why would the cylons send three cylons to the station and then blow them up. It seems a waste especially considering they are about to fight a war,

  • Resurrection, also a chance to see how good a ruse Number 6 is.

  • Even with resurrection its still a waste. I mean i imagine a cylon centurion is not cheap to make. It would represent a large amount or resources.... I Count I human dead compared to three cylons in the opening scene, Not very efficient on the cylon part.

  • @Salment I am pretty sure Cylons don't use money.

  • i find it remarkable that the armistice officer is played by the same guy who plays connor!!!

  • The officer reminded me of Major Dad.

And if this was a MSTing I'd have had Six say to him, just before they got blowed up real good: Now aren't you glad you're kissing me, and not your ass, goodbye? LOL

  • i dont get why she goes around pashing everybody

  • It's part of the Six's characteristics, though each one is individual they all share the same look and basic characteristics, they're meant to be like one of the seven deadly sins, as sexy as they are, they're intelligent and manipulative and could kill you without a thought.

  • This scene was originally written to be much longer, with the officer entering 5 times, every time older, with another rank and different photos (first two times with wife only, next two with wife&son, last one wife and son in different photos, with the wife's black-bordered). Also, the pre-story about the cylons should have had more detail.

Too bad they shortened it to this.

  • That sounds like it'd be cool, but I feel like we got the point with "Every year the colonists send somebody." "The Cylons send no one."

That is a really neat idea though.

  • That opening set the tone for the whole series. That is like the "girl in the water with the shark" opening from jaws. It hits you in the guts like a knife and then it twists it.

I have seasons 1-4 on DVD.

  • I didn't realize Ragnar Anchorage was so damn small. That baseship made it look like a sardine can under a locomotive car !!

  • What WILL the freed Centurions do with that Baseship that they were given in the series finale ?

They were given their freedom, do they REALLY, TRULY know what to do with it ? They were created to do muscle - work & heavy lifting after all. Kind of like the genetically - engineered Gammas ( ? ) in " Brave New World ".

  • Wooooooow !!! Tricia Helfer like a firestorm !!!

  • Why did the Cylons not send a representative until the mini - series scene at Ragnar Anchorage ?

Plus, does anyone else think that the Centurions look like they were( re ) designed for a Tim Burton movie ?

  • It was because William Adama sent Bulldog into Cylon space to see if the cylons will building and invasion force. Cylons saw this as an act of war

  • O.K. I missed that part.

I stil think that the Centurions look like they were designed like characters for a Tim Burton film. Like the Clone Warriors had children with Boba Fett & / or the Imperial Storm Troopers. ;-} I was interested that Cavil's faction, towards the end, had " Original design " Centurions in the ranks.

  • do not humiliate the series by qouting a director who has a knack of messing up batman, and other super heroes.

and the scen lzzard was qouting was on BSG RAZOR.

bulldog escaped after ejecting from his colonial stealthstar.

  • If you're referring to my Tim Burton quote, I merely said that the Centurions looked like they were designed FOR a Tim Burton movie. They look kind of like the CGI for a Tim Burton movie. Take a close look. Then tell me I'm nuts, if you want.

  • comparing RDM to tim burton is not advisable.

it may look like that way, but at least RDM was way out of burtons league.

though every other sci fi had some tim burton crappines, but that may be the trend.

but at least we get to see the old cylons.

  • It was meant to be symbolic, that this would be the only moment they come...when they meant to permanently end the need for the station (humanity). As for the other part, no idea.

  • Muldurag:

I see now. It took me awhile to recognize how teensy Ragnar was !!!

Six used her sexuality pretty well, even there. GLOWING SPINES ARE SEXY !!

  • I miss this show, Friday's suck now.

  • Just wait for " Caprica " & / or " The Plan ".

  • caprica caprica caprica!!!!

i wish the colonies were real.

  • Not me.

The Elite of society live on Caprica.

The rest of society live on other planets.

  • so frakking what now?

if i were on those 3rd colonial planets, i'd get me frakking ass into the colonial fleet flying a mk2.

    never underestimate the 2....

  • fair enough

  • Let's put a shit load of spoilers in comments.

    yay!

  • OKAY!

  • Comment removed

  • I like that they didn't explain Kara. I think that suits the nature of her entire character. An open question. The opera house could not have been more perfect.

  • Anyone didnt like the finale?

  • I liked it, for the most part; but they could have explained a few things better.

  • One problem I had was that they didint explain kara's origin. Everthing else was fine.

  • Yes, I didn't like it. I think it ruined the series.

    1.) Everything was rushed.

2.) Deaths of the main characters came across as being trivial.

3.) The fact that they implied God was real even though most of the characters on the show weren't believers.

4.) The ending was anti-science, promoting the idea that science was bad so let's just all go back to the bronze-age!

  • I don't think that the ending was anti-science. It wasn't trying to promote science or condemn it. It was merely trying to explain our origins in a creative way; humans came into existance a long time ago, somehow without any technology, and our lack of technology had to be explained somehow.

  • Also, yes, the show's creators emphasized the existence of God, but that doesn't bother me at all. The show focuses so much on what separates "real" people from "synthetic" people, so God to me fit in perfectly as the unifying factor of the two.

  • Just wanted to add that the concept of God on the show more than likely was not the God we are familiar with, but likely an advance A.I. or Cylon. If you rewatch the invisible Caprica and Baltar scenes, the whole thing was like an experiment and we know from the show that the cylons were obsessed with experiments in evolution. They only stopped w/ the final five offered to give them the technology to make the human-models as well as resurrection technology.

  • (continued) The assumption is that after the cylon centurians were set free, they once again began their evolution experiments anew.

  • THats exactly what I used to think until that last bit with Head Six and Baltar. When Head Six says something bout how its "happening again" she uses the word "God" in that sentence. After that Head Baltar says "He doesnt like being called that name". That implicates that he isn't God but rather a 'Supreme being' that these Head Models obviously revere highly in some way. Keeping an eye on the Plan!

  • Where can i find the full miniseries online someone please help me.

  • bestbuy lol

  • You could get the Miniseries and Season 1 through 4 on iTunes.

  • Put better then the serise finale

  • Hey could you please make this embeddable? Thanks!

  • I know! Every single copy of this had embedding disabled, and it pissed me off. It's now changed, so this would be the first of this clip to do so.

  • Most badass opening scene ever.

  • "The Cylons left for another world to call their own"

    ...ummm...Earth?

  • Omicron Perseii 8

  • nope

  • Well, if you're going to die, then I guess making out with Six isn't such a bad way to go. ;)

  • @dagojr True dat. Six is a "sixy" piece of ass. See what I did there :P

  • @dagojr yes please :)

  • I would like to see battlestar and stargate clash :D

The Ori would come to planet of Cylons hallow are the Ori.

  • I bet Daniel jackson would die, but then he'd be grand in a few episodes time. that guy dies every few weeks.

  • He's probably a cylon ;)

  • Best start to the best Sci-Fi series ever!

  • Capolavoro!

    *_*

  • Wow...This is how you begin a series.

  • Amen to that!

  • @smcneal057 Frak yeah it is!

  • wow the beginning. seems like so long ago
