Obviously it's not the most gain you can get from a bolt on, but the point of my comment was to say 30hp on a lower horse car is a "significant" (dictionary reference com/browse/significant) gain and it is.

What do some of you think that adding an intercooler will make your car faster? its only for boosted engines with kompressor or turbo..!

if your air is so hot on your N/A engine you want to mount an intercooler maby a cold air intake is the way to go..

If you did get hp out of your N/A engine by mounting this think weight increase + air drag... not worth it! and longer intake pipes 2m or something.. + restrictive intercooler core + bends and turns..

Don't really like the idea of turboing a car if it wasn't manufactured for it. In my opinion stroking an engine would be a safer way to gain some HP. If you want more HP and TQ then you'll need a bigger turbo to produce 15-25 psi. But then you've got to re-modify your engine, but you'll be sacrificing reliability!!

But honestly, to waste that money on such a pathetic bolt-on turbo, just to produce a little HP, you've got to be nuts!!!!

well yes and no, its a lot more to it than just puttin it on ur car...if u wanna do it right and not break it like most people that get their fancy turbos, make sure u have everything for it instead of just throwin it on, down pipes radiator and all its goodies, tuning solutions and get a nice bov and wastegate setup, also make sure ur fuel injects are capable of handling the added boost, cant ell u how many turbo ive seen blown or abused, 3 K down the drain for just bolting it on

@mustang50dominates Any more and the kit would cause problems as the engine would be under strain. It puts it outside the manufacturers tolerance levels for components fitted. It voids warranty and insurance too. Just put the money towards a better car. Using that "thing" in place of a proper air filter will shotblast the turbo, so it will not last very long.

You need filtered air, not just air.

No one I know would by that kit in the UK.

Xexexexe...That is a simple turbo.I think with the intercooler you will take about 8-10hps(a good one)and a good programming around 15-25 more hps(depents on the cc of the car,how good programming you will do etc).So we are talking about 50-60 more hps:).

What you should do if you want to do it properly is add everything at once. Turbo intercooler computer injectors and anything else that you might want if you want to run a lot of boost. An engine is an assembly and everything in it has to work together

depends on the car, if you have a v8 mustang that weights 4200lb, taking off 40 lb will not make a difference unless you are a pro and you do everything perfectly right however if you take 40lb on a very light weight car such as a suzuki Capoccino, you will make a bigger and more noticeable difference since thats a much bigger chunk off the cars weight.

Theoretically what you said is right, The engine will make a bit more power if you feed it cold air however the ac system takes away roughly 15 hp since the pump requires power to work therefore in the end you will loose more power than you make so you take one step forward 2 steps back.

yes, no matter if you have a v8 mustang or a 3 cylinder geo metro, the ac will take off about the same amount of power on either car.

The compressor in general pulls about 15 hp. On a bigger engine you wont notice the difference that much however on a smaller motor you will feel it being a sluggish. A lot of manufacturers use auto off feature. If you step on the gas a lot, the ac will automatically turn off.

Cooler air is more dense...so if you understand this you understand you are increasing air volume or "boost".
