let me start off by saying this, if you go to buy a BMW price is the LAST thing on your mind.
When buying a BMW you want a fast, luxurious car that looks great. once you put all the features on it then you look at the price and buy it. because if you are buying a 7 series the price isnt the dealbreaker. your looking for performance and luxury and you know a high price comes with it

You guys REALLY need to get your facts straight about the 7-Series. I bought a 760Li and paid top dollar AND I own an Equus as a second car! The Equus and 7-Series are NOT even CLOSE to being comparable! Go drive a 7 for a month, then go drive an Equus. If you STILL think the Equus is the better car, then you now have a valid argument WHY it is. Until then, unless you know the inner works of these cars it's nothing more than IGNORANT to comment on 2 cars that aren't even CLOSE to each other!

Joel Piaskowski was the previous head of designs for Hyundai BEFORE he left them and is now the chief of designs at Mercedes Benz. But before Piaskowski had left, his designs were still left behind. The Equus, for one was made already. And Hyundai made a couple more edits, and boom, its in showrooms.
Mercedes Benz has copied Hyundai, and now Mercedes has taken Hyundai's designer.

Like u told me before Piaskowski designed Audis and Lambos. He used those cars original lines into a newer model. Hence, why a Audi TT doesnt look like a lambo and vice versa. Hyundai has really no original element of design. Piaskowski is a good designer. He just didnt have anything like lines to work with.

Its cheaper because its made in South Korea. If a product that uses domestic parts, will be cheaper. Kia has been working off its designs elements, just Peter Shreyer improved them.

This car, equus which i've been promoting for over a year, love this car, and its very popular in South Korea. So many managers or people who work at a company, they have their personal driver driving this vehicle. Now everybody is living the luxury that South Korean people have been living.

I agree with you. The Equus isn't as refined as the Lexus materials, and Lexus is NOWAY NEAR my S550 in overall amenities no matter what you buy optional.

They are just testing the water in US, since they think they are ready to price the cars higher thanx to the success they had with the new sonata, which was priced much higher than it ever was, but it sold. You think I don't know about cars, and Equus? I've been born and raised in Korea and I know what kind of cars they make. Even the Ponys were at my time. I don't GUESS these things, the post I made was from number of sources which I don't remember where I read from however. Several, not one.
They are just brining in the car to prove that they are not just a bargain base make and they want to show that they are serious about car making. That's all they are after. They can care less if Equus sells or not in US. Part of the reason they set the price so high. They are testing if the American Premium Sedan buyers will bite if they export a good car and price it as much as the car they think is worth, not pricing it way under which they have been doing.
@znvhs88 You think I don't know about the Equus. I am Korean myself, and I perfectly remember the VERY first one that is boxier version of this. I heard from NUMBER of sources that Equus for US is nothing more to set a stepping stone for their new luxury division. Nothing more than that. They've already been paid about the losses they may face by not being able to sell much of Equus in US, for they sold ton of it elsewhere already.
Hyundai is NOT expecting to sell much of this car when they bring it to the States in December. They are only using the Equus to let people know they can make the premium car(though, I think the asking price is a bit too much for a Hyundai for the first year of this), and any sales of this vehicle, even just 1 unit, they will call it the success. They are NOT looking for big sales, that's the job for Sonata and other models that are populer. Not this. This is just the test they are doing.

For him to have use S-Class design elements from Mercedes on the Equus would mean he was secretly designing the S-Class for Mecedes before the Equus WHILE he was still working with Hyundai. Which i bet is what really happened.

I'm no Hyundai fan, but trust me, the Equus will sell. I'm sure of that.
#1 The Equus comes 100% LOADED for $66,000 and the features it includes, you'd need to pay Lexus or audi over $100,000 for.
The rear seat package only adds $6500 to the car.
Imagine a limo company like the ones here in NYC that run Black S-550's. They need a sharp looking car with great interior features that doesn't require huge costs.
#2 Equus accepts regular unleaded.
Its a rider's car.

I agree with you. The Equus isn't as refined as the Lexus materials, and Lexus is NOWAY NEAR my S550 in overall amenities no matter what you buy optional.
Thing is, in this economy, value wins every single time. Equus brings VALUE to the table while BMW7, A8-L and S550 don't.

Hyundai is doing quality for a price the others can't match in a way that lexus did when it started , they are the one brand that has Toyota the largest global automaker most concearned I drive a used Alfa 156 here in Europe but I have a hyundai in canada that was the Tuscani Tiburon there- most reliable car ever and people still ask about it- as far as Canada 9 billion US in auto exports - civic? camaro ss? They are just testing the water in US, since they think they are ready to price the cars higher thanx to the success they had with the new sonata, which was priced much higher than it ever was, but it sold. You think I don't know about cars, and Equus? I've been born and raised in Korea and I know what kind of cars they make. Even the Ponys were at my time. I don't GUESS these things, the post I made was from number of sources which I don't remember where I read from however. Several, not one.

They are just brining in the car to prove that they are not just a bargain base make and they want to show that they are serious about car making. That's all they are after. They can care less if Equus sells or not in US. Part of the reason they set the price so high. They are testing if the American Premium Sedan buyers will bite if they export a good car and price it as much as the car they think is worth, not pricing it way under which they have been doing.

@znvhs88 You think I don't know about the Equus. I am Korean myself, and I perfectly remember the VERY first one that is boxier version of this. I heard from NUMBER of sources that Equus for US is nothing more to set a stepping stone for their new luxury division. Nothing more than that. They've already been paid about the losses they may face by not being able to sell much of Equus in US, for they sold ton of it elsewhere already.

Hyundai is NOT expecting to sell much of this car when they bring it to the States in December. They are only using the Equus to let people know they can make the premium car(though, I think the asking price is a bit too much for a Hyundai for the first year of this), and any sales of this vehicle, even just 1 unit, they will call it the success. They are NOT looking for big sales, that's the job for Sonata and other models that are populer. Not this. This is just the test they are doing.
