@therealshlong thats a very simplistic and biased account of the economy. first of all the 1988 budget had the largest surplus ever delivered by a political party, and that was labor. through the 80s labor completely reformed the australian economy removing tarifs and floating the dollar among other things. they made the free market economic choices the liberals should have done under fraser.
