I remember when I was a kid and there were only 3 or 4 t.v. stations. If the evening movie ended early there would be a Laurel and Hardy short to fill the rest of the time. It was like A GIFT was bestowed on us. We didn't care much about the movie but when those shorts would come on - we'd all be in front of that old b/w Sylvania laughing from our souls. Thank you Dad for showing us what was REALLY funny.
@shaftsbury94 the lady is Stans wife. Stan and Ollie planned on drinkin her bottle of booze, she over hears them planning it, so she empties the bottle before hand and fills the bottle with cold tea, the package she has got at the table is a shotgun wrapped in paper. you gotta watch the whole film, it will make you laugh even more
@birthdayfrog16 It's from the short BLOTTO, their short from 1930; Blotto is the old fashioned word for "drunk." That lady in this is Anita Garvin, who died on July 7, 1994, at age 88; she would have been 100 years of age back in 1906. =)
Oh C'MON!!!!!! Somebody just say it already... they were smokin weed, got the munchies, went to a restaurant to eat and couldn't stop laughing at just any dam thing... weed existed before the 60's and yeah people were SMOKIN IT!!

"Items not related to Laurel and Hardy" at 400, please.
Stan's laughter is just so utterly real and hysterical. I remember his laughing fit in Way Out West too, and each time it's hilarious and delightful. One of the funniest scenes in the history of comedy, from the double act who were the definitive. Stan and Ollie, possibly the best argument for there being a God.
@whouster The laughing scene in Way Out West was totally unrehearsed. Stan's daughter said that he started laughing and couldn't stop, quite possibly because he was very ticklish. The actress trying to get the paper off of him in that scene must have touched a ticklish spot.
I heard this story: Someone put REAL booze in their drinks before the scene and that cracked them up when they realized it. She is saying "Cold Tea" was in the bottle. Many find this the funnest scene of all time. I agree.
@TheProudAmerican777 Do you mean the guy with the mustache who was in a lot of laurel and hardy films " he is "james finlayson" the master of the double take and matt groneings inspiration for homer simpsons "doh" catchphrase.
OMG!, how can you not laugh after watching this? Absolutely infectious!
I love how Oliver looks over at Stan at 0.38 and shakes his head......"What are you laughing at?" When my wife finds out we took the liquor......... So, so funny!
The way he bursts into hysterical laughter when he turns round and sees the Mrs at 1.51 is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in my life. This must be the hundredth time I've seen it and I still have tears streaming down my face.
*lol* If i was Olli i couldn't controll myself XD I would laugh my head off if i would sit next to Stan XD Stan has such a contagious laugh :D. And i hope this is right my english is not very well, nice greetings from germany :)

How is it possible for any sane human being to dislike Laurel and Hardy?
It may be attributable to a deficiency in a certain part of the head...I believe it must be the brain.
