  • RS trim looks great but it's pretty slow.

  • What engine configuration is it?

  • For anyone that likes the Cruze, you should know it dominated in the WTCC. Most the races are on youtube if you look for'em. Great car, great price, great fun!

  • @Jeredin13 it only dominated after all the other works teams had left

  • @jemimallah whatever helps you sleep at night . . .

  • That slalom was pretty good.

  • i'm getting this car for my 18th bithday. he arrives this week yeees!

  • I got this car for my 16th birthday. Best present EVER.

  • best compact/small car chevy ever made. For now Cruze is best compact car available interms of price, gas and look.

  • Manual...

  • Is the transmission of this car in this video is mechanical or automatic?

  • Cruze??? What about Elantra, much better. Cruze is from a company that has was bankrupted, who wants to drive a former bankrupted car??? Give me my tax money back!

  • Don't buy this car....it's a rebadged Daewoo Nibura...I mean...c'mon...you wouldn't buy a Kia Rio in 2001, so why buy a Cruze in 2011?

  • @talldude123 lol Kia Rio ROTFL! you have no idea what are you talking about! and it's Nubira not Nibura LOL!

  • @mikkalainer11 That's what Chevrolet is doing. Since they were bankrupt, these POS Daewoo brand is paying them to market their cars as new Chevrolets.

  • @talldude123 Chevy owns Daewoo -___-

  • @sexyboi142 GM owns Chevy and Daewoo.

  • @Xandrez1122 what are you tying to get at? I already know that.

  • @sexyboi142 Exactly.

  • @talldude123 If you knew anything about the car's platform you would disagree

  • ecotech = vvti

  • CRUZE 1.8 ecotech 5 speed manual ; 5,189L/100km in city,5,900L/100km on highway

    CRUZE 1.8 ecotech 6 speed automatic ; 5,800L/100km in city,6,500L/100km on highway

  • CRUZE 1.4 ecotech turbocharger 6 speed manual ; 5,200L/100km in city,8,300L/100km on highway

CRUZE 1.4 ecotech turbocharger 6 speed automatic ; 5,800L/100km in city,9000L/100km on highway

  • The track test results are very identical to the Hyundai Elantra's result.. And the fact, Honda civic Ex-L has a better track test result over the two..

  • the 2008-present Chevrolet Cruze is assembled in

Brazil: São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo

    China: Shenyang, Liaoning

    India: Halol, Gujarat

    Kazakhstan: Ust-Kamenogorsk

    Russia: Saint Petersburg

    Vietnam: Hanoi

    South Korea: Gunsan, Jeonbuk

    Thailand: Rayong

    United States: Lordstown, Ohio

  • alot of these cars now on the streets not bad looking car, cool too my best friends parents just bought his little brother a cruze ltz with the rs package, drove it and it drives way nicer than my girls 08 civic

  • @halo0009 no, u can get a 6-apeed automatic on the Eco, it's a $950 option. Now if u want to say a 6-speed manual is standard than u are correct.

  • perfeito esse teste gostei muito.

  • @waltermarines89 I own a Chevrolet Cruze LT, 2.0cc Diesel with 150 hp. it makes 0-100 km/h in about 8.5-9 seconds. Top Speed is 220km/h+ (Unofficial of course ;)) ... a thing which I recently tested. It went beyond its limit (which is 220km/h), so my guess I went up to 230 km/h. It is NOT a fast car... but it isn't as slow as u think it is. Just wanted to give u some info =)

  • lul this car is slower then my 2002 sonata...no offense im just saying that's kinda sad.

  • @pdavid24 the numbers they show here seem slow. I think i read in another magazine that got mch better times. Almost a second faster through the quarter mile. and you do need to remember, it's an economy car ;)

  • @pdavid24 does your sonata have a 1.4l motor? nope didnt think so,does your sonata get 50mpg hwy?,nope didnt think so

  • @cmattdabrat the ECO is also available with a 6 speed AUTOMATIC you idiot. Don't make smart comments when your incorrect

  • @KAGMVP7 CRUZE ECO is 6 speed manual only

  • I thoguht this car also had a v6 engine with 280 horsepower just like Chrysler 200 !!!

  • @yynotnnh ALL of their ECO models are stick.

  • to all the knuckle heads posting negative bullpie about this car ...remember that this car is supposed to be an "ECONOMY CAR" GM Chevy never introed it as a performance compact ,and its a big compact at that, if you want performance numbers wait til Buick Comes out with their Verano version of this car; that will have the 2.0 liter turbo that the old cobalt SS had ,and Honda and the other competitors could not beat during its short run.

face it jap lovers the Giant has Awoken!!

  • damn!!!! this car is slow as fuck!!!!!

  • @fredmagic09 Well it is built for Fuel economy not speed, if it was build for speed they would have gave it a bigger engine most likely a V6

  • For the idiot that thinks it was a huge recall it wrong and my friend as a civic and this will run over top of it

  • my mom gave me lamborgini on my 3rd bday i remeber:P

  • this is the 2.0 163cv? Or it's the 150cv? :D

  • @jefa1234 1.4 T

  • the solution for a turbo lag is heel & toe shifting

  • what a pointless video.

  • @yynotnnh Oh I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings?? Chevy has not lost their edge, they are making better cars what are you talking about Ricer? Engine and Transmission may be made else where but the design is from Chevy you wanker, maybe things sold here in the U.S. are made and assembled in other countries because they have cheap labor.

  • @yynotnnh Who cares it's just a Honda anyways, plus this one is newer, looks better and gives better mileage

  • It's really insanely fast in the quarter mile lol what a POS!!!!

  • Considering my piece of crap of a truck (1990 Toyota Pick-up) gets to 60 mph in about 15 seconds I like the fact it is 9.6 seconds to 60.

  • Jus drove it yesterday!!

The built quality is jus pure fab>>>

It has a punch to the pickup and is quick enough for a low-range luxury sedan!!

  • Miles ahead of the Cobalt. Cavaliers and Cobalts were dependable but crude.

  • when he did the brake test, hearing that sound i was waiting for the BANG!!

  • I`ll bet the one with 163hp diesel would do better...

  • Hopefully getting this car for my 16th birthday. (:

  • @SelenaL10

It's a great first car. Keep wishing, hope it comes true.

  • @76carmel Thank you, [:

  • @SelenaL10 Lucky you and your parents, I'm 22 and I had to take a 15 grand loan to buy one...

  • @UglyBoost91 Yeah i know, and well my mom had to take a loan to just so i could have this car so yeah lol.

  • @SelenaL10 You have some nice parents! : )

  • @SelenaL10 u have nice rents hope u do get the car and enjoy it

  • @SelenaL10 U r lucky, i had to rob a bank for this....

  • @SelenaL10 Wow, hopefully you do, this is a perfect car for teenagers!!

  • @ZR1Terror Yeah i already got it, and it's amazing. [:

  • @SelenaL10 mazda 3 sport :)

  • God damn 122 ft to stop. lol. Thats wayyyy too long.

  • @ChummyChime

122 ft. - too long? Actually for a subcompact, that's quite short. I'd be a little worried if the breaking is over 130 ft.

  • @ChummyChime tell me about it, for the civic 2010 is 129ft to stop..lol

  • I feel this vehicle is made by daewoo like the aveo (more like replacement to suzuki forenza) I wonder if the Regal will be the new Cobalt replacement for gm

  • @gsxellence This is the new "cobalt" replacement. They have another car coming out to replace the Aveo.

  • @badassxr50r yea the sonic but I mean at least that the 1.4 turbo will match performance per weight.. this is is lacking. it's good car and nice but I think they need to give it an SS turbo worthiness like the upcoming GS..

  • All I want is an American made car that hauls ass, gets atleast 35 mpg, has AWD(beacuse snow sucks) and I can haul my family in. GM, Dodge and Ford all have cars and technology capable of this, but instead we get this? WTF? Imagine Ford Fusion SVT EcoBoost. Dodge Avenger SRT6, Chevy Malibu SS Turbo.

  • @ProfessorK100

"Ford Fusion SVT EcoBoost. Dodge Avenger SRT6, Chevy Malibu SS Turbo"

I like the way you think. The Big 3 should definitely make some high performance midsize cars.

  • @ProfessorK100 That would be great to see that, the only you have wonder is how much would that cost on the market?

  • its that a real wheel drive or a front wheel drive ?

  • @jemuvegen Really? I hope that isnt a serious question.

  • Haha, the fastest stock cruze only sell in China! It's the 1.6 Turbo Cruze with 6MT.It's got 135KW and 266 Nm torque,0-60mph in 8s.even much better than the VW 1.8Turbo which just got 120kw and 235 nm's torque.

  • They should have used direct injection on this engine, better mpgs and more power. But the factor of cost was huge.

  • @lakewebsterkid

I think this is the Ecotec which I believe is direct injection. It has variable valve timing. Is it a direct injection exactly, or is it a psudo version of it?

  • @76carmel No, if I am correct this is still port fuel injection. It does have VVT though.

  • @lakewebsterkid

Thanks for letting me know. VVT in all major manufacturers have made vehicles that are much more fuel efficient.

  • Comment removed

  • Gem! Z-link rocks, this is Chevy revolution time. Can't wait to drive the 1.8L

  • should b faster than that. didnt the nissan cube do 0-60 faster than this!

  • สวยดีนะ ว่ามะ?

  • @Kriangkrai29 i think ur the only thai person watching this lol XD

  • The front end look's already dated. It would of look great when they launched the Malibu like 5 year's ago. The 2011 Cruze looks like a 2006 model. How can GM expect to beat the imports with new designs that already look old and chunky.

  • ok...no lie. they have put this car in the same category as the ford fiesta...nice try chevy. ford focus will def make you forgettable

  • The only thing Chevy had going for it with the Cavalier and Cobalt was that they were the fastest and most powerful cars stock in the Compact class, now they have taken that away with the Cruze.

  • @StuinthaHouse That's the idea behind owning a Chevrolet so that you can beat the competition. Now with that gone why drive one?

  • I have a gut felling the current Cobalt SS will out perform the future Cruze SS, just like dodge did with their srt4

  • @dieseldan420ca yea more than likely. Now Chevrolet has the Camaro V6 about the same price of a nicely equipped Cruze, it would not make any sense make it faster. I imagine the Cruze SS doing 6.5 - 7.5 0-60 MPH. Its just a guessed so dont quote me on that.

  • Braking and slalom numbers are pretty good. The acceleration is very slow though, even for its class.

Im sure the Cruze SS will fix all of that.

  • Gotta remember folks that this isn't meant to be a pocket rocket (yet), but it is VERY class competitive.

  • @DeftonesFan867 totally agreed.. acc is waay to slow.. but then again this is not a sports car.. (yet lol)

  • @betodj90 ..and I must say it looks great inside and out. Trying to get the gf to trade her Cobalt in for one, lol.

  • People bitching this is too slow, realize it's a freaking 1.4 eco box getting high 30s MPG. It's more than adequate for commuting or journeys.

  • why 2011... this exact car is already on sale in Europe for 2 years

  • @AMVDawg Changes were made for the NA market.

  • Damn it looks nice doing a slalom!

  • Way slow!

  • Very nice car...I'd say this is the best 'economical' car out there, but I'd opt for a bigger engine, I'd gladly give up 5mpg highway for something that gets to 60 in less than 8 seconds.

  • @stanbernadino The base Impala will do that if you can afford it.

  • Pretty good looking in white

...but I think I'll hold off till a bigger engine is available.

  • way to slow

  • @chrisw40 for a 1.4T sedan thats pretty impressive not that you ever really need anything faster then a 10sec-60mph car in the real world anyway.

  • @onoff314 i wouldnt call thatb impressive at all and sometimes you need a little power to merge and a 10 sec 0 to 60 car doesnt have it so you always going to have people riding up on your ass like crazy.

  • Bigger engine and It's a perfect Chevy..

  • epic fail!

  • i like it better than the old cobalt so far...

  • Wow everyone is complaining about the poor performance from the turbo. IT'S A 1.4L TURBO WHAT DO YOU WANT? It's not made for breakneck acceleration, it's made for fuel efficiency.

  • @rudolphna54 1,4!!!

    wholy shit thats fast

    i thought that was the 1.6 !

will the 1.6 get almost as good mpg and be faster?

  • @crammage It's a choice of a N/A 1.8L and the 1.4L Turbo. Both make about the same horsepower. The turbo makes a bit more torque (with a flatter curve) and gets better fuel economy. The 1.4T will be the volume engine.

  • @rudolphna54 That's the problem. There isn't enough differentiation between the 1.4 T and the 1.8 NA. They will provide essentially the exact same performance overall (save for straight-line performance). I think you'd be hardpressed to see a different lap time between the two "options"

  • @rudolphna54

Also, in addition, this is Chevy's competition against Toyota Corolla & Honda Civic. The Cruze is stepping up to the plate. GM had made the Cobalt and the Cruze, but did it cheaply, this Chevrolet wasn't competitive for it. Now with the Cruze and its features, it'll make Toyota and Honda sweat just a tad.

  • @rudolphna54 And so the one thing you say it was made for is still one of the things it trails behind in its class

  • theres no way this is turbo

  • This car is going to dominate the market in its category whichever that would be :P

  • Unfortunately its the turbo model ... That disappointing performance

  • @solicama IT'S A FUCKING 1.4L what do you want?

  • This car blows. Just buy a Civic ppl.

  • @Lambo6fo Agreed, this car is just another shitty product that is disguised as looking cool.

  • @Lambo6fo these things are way nicer than a civic especially in the interior

  • @Lambo6fo civic sucks its so slow

  • 9.4 is NOT a turbo, obviously. God awful S L O W...

  • @marcomariaz26 Slalom is not too shabby, but everything else blows...

  • Hey Inside Line, it would help if you posted which engine you tested the Cruze with wouldn't it? Is it the turbo, or N/A? Garbage....

  • 2011 Chevrolet Cruze: Coming to a rental car parking lot near you!

  • @aallppiinnee Lol what do the think the cobalt was.( with the exception of the SS model)

  • @aallppiinnee Why? Because of the badge?

    GTFO with that nonsense.

  • This is a great city car, I'd appreciate the gas mileage.

  • Slow but never made for performance, its made for people that want a nice small car to commute back and forth, with out the sacrifices of a traditional small car

  • haha my car is faster!

  • Sooo its a run of the mill average family car. Not worth a track test really...

08 cobalt ss supercharged gets to 60 in HALF the time as this thing!

  • @SoRealSoReal23 HALF?? Really?? I don't think so... More like 2/3 the time... HALF would be 4.7. No STOCK Cobalt SS does that on any planet, anywhere. More like 0-60 in 6.1 with a perfect driver, 6.5 with an average one...

  • @marcomariaz26

well no not literally half the time but it ACTUALLY does 5.8 in a 0-60. Hate to burst your bubble but see for yourself-> watch?v=aQ7MD2jnQ8A

  • @SoRealSoReal23 No bubble to burst here. I don't care how fast the Cobalt SS Supercharged can run, to be honest. I was just calling you on your comment and how inaccurate it was. I'd take a Cobalt SS turbocharged over the Supercharged anyday, BTW...

  • @marcomariaz26

    If you say so dude...

  • my focus is faster :(

  • very slow car....thumbs down:P

  • gotta love GM, my 1997 Mustang V6 auto is quicker

  • A '86 Honda Civic Aero Deck has a faster 0-60 run. Man, I should've never sold it.

  • Thanks, InsideLine, for specifying which motor was equipped during this testing! Oh wait...you left that bit out. This is an extremely well built car that is so quiet inside it's ridiculous. It's not intended to be fast so all the haters please refrain from the silly comments. If they do an SS version of this car it will put the Speed3, GTI, WRX, and any other sporty econo cars to shame. This is unquestionably the nicest small car GM has ever produced and IMO nicest small car available in the US

  • @idiotfieldmouse HAHAHA to compete with the WRX, Ralliart, or MSP3?? dude even a shity lancer, impreza or mazda 3 could do a faster 0-60 run, an better than 17 sec on 1/4mile, for the same price and much better quality and resale value, for sure!

  • @EvoXfreak You aren't very good at reading are you? Obviously the Cruze used in this video would be waxed by any of your aforementioned cars. What I said, if you read carefully, was "If they do an SS version of this car." Meaning if they do a faster version of this car...you know..like the Cobalt SS...only a Cruze SS. And I only say it would put the competition to shame is because for once the interior on a GM small car is superior to the competition's offerings. Again, that is IF they do an SS

  • @idiotfieldmouse I was talking of a posible version of the SS compared to wrx ralli or mps3, I said even at the shitty versions, of your cruze and all the others, the cruze keeps being the worst choice.

  • @EvoXfreak How do you figure? The old (my current car) turbocharged Cobalt SS washed the floor with everyone of those cars in every performance category except for the WRX in a 1/4 mile run because they could launch the piss out of it, but the Cobalt had a higher trap speed. The only reason that every auto review company didn't put the Cobalt SS in first was because of the garbage interior. Now that the Cobalt's replacement has an improved interior, all it needs is a powerful drivetrain to win

  • This is what government enforced EPA guideline increases will do for performance.

  • @dsm2xtreme yep but this lil thing has been said to get around 40mpg

  • Piece of shit. It's numbers are as bad as a 96 2.2L OHV 3 speed cavalier.

    I hated that car!

  • heh, honda civic > that dog eating korean piece of shit

  • @Tetragagaca what?

  • i think i heard they were thinking on making a sporty version of this car but not sure...

  • Good God... a stock Pontiac 6000 is faster than that...

  • People need to just calm down. Obviously this is not going to be a sporty car. It's meant for the daily consumer that needs a nice looking affordable and practical car. I am glad GM made this car, It gives me everything I need. 60-40 folding rear seats, power windows, great sitting room, 10 standard airbags, along with other things. Most often the sportiness of the car is never the selling point, because if you want a sports car you'd be buying your piece of shit mustangs. Thank you, and goodbye

  • @dagrome nice...lol. i judge cars compared to price and practicality and this car beats a lot of others in that proportion. im not a fan of chevy but this was a smart build for them. hopefully they can turn it around soon without the government aid. thank you, and keep cruzing. lol.

  • @dagrome Weird the Sentra is sporty AND meant for daily driving.

  • @pcfxer Weird how it doesn't have standard power mirrors or floor mats or trip meter or 10 airbags or as good gas mileage. It has no warranty for rust damage, and its bumper to bumper warranty is only 36000 miles.

  • @dagrome It does have std power mirrors, floor mats (in Canada) and a trip meter (in every part of the world...). The Sentra gets BETTER gas mileage for the majority consumer (automatic vs automatic [cvt]). It has corrosion warranty of 10 years/160, 000km and the CRUZE has only 3 yr /36000 miles BUMPER to BUMPER warranty as well. Where do you get your info? General Motors Propaganda?

  • @pcfxer I used Honda's site to compare so granted not all info might be correct, either way. The cvt auto gets the same gas mileage as the regular 1.4 liter turbo cruze city, but not for highway. Standard power mirrors and floor mats in Canada basically means that everyone else in the world has to pay for that extra shit. nissan also doesn't care about standard safety, you have to pay for abs and esc

  • @dagrome a regular civic EX has all that and is faster then this car and will last longer and will have a much higher price when/if u decide to sell it and its been around for a while now......

  • @ricksmiths10 I happen to own a Civic, i love how everyone assumes I must be a hardcore Chevy fan. I am not, I just think the Cruze is a really awesome car that I would love to own.

  • @dagrome have u heard about wat the new civics r gonna be like?.......if yes, u wanna own this car still?

  • @ricksmiths10 your a piece of shit the ex only gets 21mpg when your not stepping on it

  • @GGGGGGGTHEBEST7 ur dumbass has obviously never owned a civic! civic's mpg rating r almost allways understated! my car according to epa gives 36 mpg on highway however when i take it on roadtrips it gives me 40+ on highway and i floor it alot in normal city driving and my car still manages 30-32 mpgs!.......get ur facts right before talking dumbass chevy boy! lol

  • @ricksmiths10 your a complete dumb fuck i had a 98 civic and it does give you good mileage but not vtec models(ex, si, etc.) you said you had an ex thats vtec those dont have high mpg fuckn dumbass fagboy get off hondas nuts

  • @GGGGGGGTHEBEST7 u would really know how good mpgs they give since u dont have one right? lol fucking idiot telling me how many mpgs my car gives me! i think u made it quiet obvious who is the "dumbass" over here.

  • @ricksmiths10 your a dumbass my friend had a 08 si his shit got garbage mpg 21 tops

and your over here telling your vtak gets more mpgs than a base civic model your a complete fuckn idiot you cant even prove your point you lame piece of dry shit

  • @GGGGGGGTHEBEST7 i dont know what the fuck u smoke but ur a retard civic si's sedan gives 30 mpgs on hghway and ur a retard again for comparing a si
