You have to be very lucky to catch meteors like these with a camera - you need to have the camera rolling while pointing it in the right direction at the right time.

Saw one with multiple trails like these the other day when I was with my camera and thought there would be no point in even trying to photograph it as I miss the moment - so I have it photographed clearly enough in my brain.

I saw a meteor in the sky once, but from where I saw it, it was just a bright light. It was during day, and the second I saw it, it disappeared. It may have gotten burned out from the atmosphere, but at first I thought it could've been a UFO. Lol.

I just saw an awesome meteor tonight. It wasn't quite as nice as these ones, but it was the biggest one I've ever seen. Usually most meteors look like a thin line streaking across the sky, but this one was a fire ball that left distinct flames in its wake.

One hit my car tuesday in NJ... pebble..... Did anyone in the central Wisconsin area see a meteor heading north to south at around 10:05 PM tonight? (April 14, 2010) I have never seen one before and it was a pretty amazing sight. This thing was huge, beginning as bright white, turning into blue and green, and then splitting into 3 or more pieces at the very end.

Cool meteor collection, but fails to show any actually landing. I once observed a HUGE meteor strike Earth about 50 miles west of Los Angeles, California, circa 1980. It was midnight, and I was standing on top of a dark hill east of Tustin, California. A bright pinpoint of light suddenly appeared at the zenith above me, quickly growing brighter. It then veered west, leaving a bright lavender plasma trail which lasted 5 minutes. It slammed into the Pacific Ocean with a bright flash.

Saw one last year myself (in the Netherlands), it was extremely bright and fast and first i thought it was fireworks, but it moved so quickly....

Felt like it was only ~100 meters above me, but in fact it was a few KM above me when i checked later.

It was truly amazing, and my first thought was that i had imagined it, but later on that evening it was confirmed via the news.

Must be a lucky guy to saw one alive ;-)

I just saw a meteor go by several hours ago. I consider a shooting star a good omen. Cause nothing bad has ever happened to me after seeing one.
