I flew to Phoenix for the Eclipse Prom two years ago and hosted my own Twilight birthday party, along with the usual purchasing of Twilight merchandise and obsessive reading of the books. (Though that is pretty much low-key compared to a lot of fans. :])
I think you're project sounds very cool, and you will definitely have enough resources. Twilight has inspired many people creatively.
The prom was great! There weren't so many rules two years ago about the book signing, so I got to get two books signed and personalized. There were Edward and Jacob models, and Stephenie looked beautiful. I also met a lot of really cool people and got to spend some time with an internet buddy from the Lexicon.
Hey. I ran out of characters, so here's my next half:
After the prom, I went to the I Love Jacob After Party, and Stephenie came (a surprise). There were only fifty of us, so she autographed some items from our gift bags and I got a picture taken with her. We also played Twilight Cranium, which was really fun (<--My friends and I made our own copy of this game for my birthday party. It wasn't quite as good, but we still enjoyed playing).
This is a fantastic idea and I wish you the best of luck with this project. The twilight series has definatley affected my life. For years, I've been procrastinating on this book I've been wanting to write, and reading the twilight series has sparked my creative flow and I'm finally doing what I've dreamt of. It also inspired me to make my own Twilight vlog. It's new but, I've already got a great response and hope to continue it. Again, good luck!
Good luck with your documentary. I can tell you that Twilight is not just a teenage phenomenon. I learned about it from my granddaughter and I LOVE it. Just as Bella did not really change when she became a vampire, people don't change as they age--at least not their spirit. Robert's voice and Stephenie's story have inspired me to begin writing again. I'm writing a screenplay for Robert to star in as a musician--as TWINS. Yea! Twilight has been life-changing for me.
I definately want to help and I'm sure all my friends would be just as excited to help too! Let me know what it is that you need help on. Interviews or whatnot. Whatever you need help for. ^-^ I love your idea!
We're super fans. If I knew how to keep up a blog and site, I would. But school these days has been hectic. We do a ton of Twilight stuff for our school though.
