Okay just to clear this up, John Belushi had a brother called Jim (short for James)
JOHN was the one who died. He was Jake in the film. His brother Jim is still alive and so is Dan. John Candy is dead as well. I don't get why people are saying Jim died when he clearly didn't. If there's a mix-up okay I understand that but if you're doing it just to be annoying then don't. Get your facts right first.
There will always be a John Belushi void. This song will live on for years to come thanks to Sam & Dave, original artists, and the Blues Brothers Movie.
The funny thing about "Blue Brothers 2000," the mainstream critics hated it, the movie bombed in the box office. Yet I have yet to see a crowd that does not sing, dance and gyrate to the music.
Sure...."Grease" is giant karokee this weekend, but the spontaneous response to "Blue Brothers 2000" is genuine.

@flcaltech Or it could go like this:John Belushi died. The guys in suits are Elwood, Mighty Mack and Zee blues (lead vocals at about 1:05), John's younger brother.
Sam Moore is the black guy doing most of the (amazing) lead vocals.
70% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Rap.If you are part of the 30% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.
in fact, in the "related videos" list at the side of this page, there is a vid called "Belushi And Aykroyd "Have Love Will Travel"", which is kinda fun, and will lead you to some other recordings from the same show, which are good fun. not nearly as good as the original blues brothers, but fun regardless
I STILL hold out hopes for a third film outing with Jim Belushi. The other two were great, but can you believe that "Blues Brothers 2000 ended on a cliffhanger?
do you think the third would be better than blues brothers 2000? if they take jim instead of john goodman maybe but it would never be so good as the original from ´80
they would just destroy the magic as they did in bb 2000 :(
Well I guess maybe I liked "2000" more than you did. I dont say that it was AS GOOD as the original by any means, but I DO say that it was a SOLID sequel and had GREAT music. It was fantastic seeing "The Band" back together again and I especially liked the "Ghost Riders" sequence. IF they do a third film they COULD have both Goodman AND Jim Belushi(Actually the only big change from "2000" would be the kid. Is he still acting?)and I've got the PERFECT song to open it:"Have Love Will Travel".:)
jim is STILL alive now. JOHN died in the 80s, and jim is his brother. if you look on youtube for jim belushi and dan aykroyd, you will find very recent footage of them singing together. long after the second movie came out.
john was dead, so couldnt do the second movie. jim is in this vid, and couldnt do the second movie because he had a scheduling conflict, and was busy.
look it up, you will see i am right.
JOHN belushi was in the first movie, jim is here, this is AFTER john died
having "john" goodman in the second movie doesnt help with getting the names mixed up, did it?
he was good, but i think jim belushi would have been better. they should have waited until he had time to do it, and maybe it wouldnt have been so bad. not that i didnt enjoy it, but it lacked the edge of the original, and some of the laughs felt a bit forced and just copy-and-pasted from the original.
at least they did this show, and dan and jim have done other things, some of which are very good
@Pallindrom27 I'd love to see a third movie as well. Never saw "2000", but it'd be cool to see the Blues Brothers back in action one more time. I wonder if they'd consider passing the torch to the new generation... "Sons of the Blues" or something...
Imagine if you will if Jake (John Belushi's character) had sired a son by Carrie Fisher's character in the first film, a son named Jack that would want to learn the ways of the Blues from Elwood (Dan Aykroyd), a son that might be played by Jack Black...
yeah everyone right Jim Belishi Johns Younger brother is in this and the reason John Goodman was in this was because they were gonna do the Blues Brothers 2000 film earlier but didn't due to finances
Sorry, but I must disagree, the John Goodman/Dan Akroyd/Evan Bonifant/Joe Morton combo in Blues Brothers 2000 was amazing, different from the first movie but still just as good.
wow i bet no one realized that brother zee is being played by the brother of john belushi who is jim belushi..damn they look so much alike its scary..
are u really posting this on the original song? wow ur a dipshit dude and u need to learn something the original is "always" better no mader find me a sax player that sounds like that out of 100 sax players u won't find one u won't unless u get more than one group
they obv. have sumthing going, or y would all these blues/soul legends want to play and sing with them. thats sam moore ffs, he is a god of soul, and still thinks the blues brothers cool enuff to sing with the reunited band, even without john belushi. jim and dan r fairly good together
I was John Belushi for halloween. People always tell me i look like him. Of course only when i had long hair. But if you put a wig on me i would still look like him i guess! Still Jhon Belushi Rocks! I dont realy like the drake and josh version of this song! The Blues Brothers Do this song way better! Prob. cause they wrote the song and preform it! Oh Well BLUES BROTHERS RUEL! This is my favorite song by them! There Movie is one of my favorite movies too. Besides about a son Mov Of Kurt Cobain
as much as i like john goodman, there is only 1 choice 4 blues brother after john belushi and thats his brother jim,, who aint massively musical, niether was john, really, but has the attitude and charisma (almost) of john. he is really good at this, and i know they said they wanted 2 use him 4 the film but couldnt as he was doing sumthing else, but they should have waited 4 him. i think he fits in really well with aykroyd and the band. the only way they could have gone on i think
The three of them are spectacular! I loved their performance! Jim Belushi reminded me so much of his brother in this song, he had the moves to go with Elwood and Mack. The Blues Brothers are the Best.

i think jim belushi did ok, but he should have been in the second movie instead of goodman.
he just looks better, and has a bit (just a little bit mind you) of his brothers swagger and attitude.
jim belushi is very underrated as an actor and comedian, because he was overshadowed by the powerhouse of john.
he is pretty good in this return of... concert though. i enjoyed it. better than goodman anyway
