  • yea trans am

  • Very interesting, great videos, sir.

  • @NFSPS99999 Thanks man

  • Is that a high rise manifold? does it take up a lot of room?

  • @ItalianStallionLouie Yes it is, it would not fit under most hoods

  • @groutaone what size cowl do you reckon it would need to hide it? 3"

  • @ItalianStallionLouie For most cars that should do it

  • @groutaone good i would have to measure, laws are tight here in australia and i want to make a high compression naturally aspirated engine, your videos are great sir! love to watch them

  • looks of things the rocker was sitting at or near peak valve lift which is NOT the closest clearance. closest clearnace would be around TDC area when valve is coming down and piston is coming up on TDC or just starting on its down stroke from TDC. could have also used a perimeter plate but with the shape of plenum with the humps the fogger is better option. it also looks more bad ass.

  • hahaha are you cananadian? You really remind me of Dave from davidsfarm

  • @snowman4839 Yes I'am very Canadian, born and raised here and proud to say it

  • hey Groutaone just subscribed was wanting to build a small block ford hipo but dont have quite enough knowledge just yet was thinking of saving my money and going with Dart products for the block but really dont know about the heads and such any comments would be great ?

  • @turner593 Thanks for the sub, sounds like a killer project with a Dart block and such. Head size and selection would depend on its intended application and rpm range

  • I just subscribed. I can't stop watching your videos! They're great! Seen your sunflower hull furnace and then the notch trick on the top of the cylinders and now this.. So many cool tricks to make an engine stronger. What do you think of indexing spark plugs? Does it work?

  • @FirebirdFarmboy Awesome, thanks for the sub, I always index my plugs for performance applications, you gave me a video idea, thanks

  • tat IS the best way in my opinion to check for valve clearence. Used this method on my 4 wheeler motor after the high compression piston and crazy lift cam. Nice to see someone else doing this

  • Thanks for the new trick.I don't know if I'd need it but I'll remember it.

Also, thanks for the ride at the end.Now if you'll just lend me a compressor to re-inflate my skull I should be ok.

  • @heliarche Just hold your head sideways for the next launch and it should straighten right out, just so you know I really appreciate your support for my channel, all your comments its great, thanks man

  • @groutaone All the crazy stuff you get into, and all the things that many people never have the chance to do, I can't help but love your channel. It's like a window into a special life and you leave it open for any and all to enjoy with you.

So thanks right back at you.

  • Is this your car at the end ? If it is.. i absolutely love it ! I am trying to imagine myself in the seat, feeling the g force holding me to my seat. Very nice ! One quick ride.

  • @JameZCody Yes, its my 97 Firebird, it sure has a snap to it when it takes off, it can do the first 60 feet in 1.18 seconds

  • Im diggin the broken cymbals on the background! Great vid too. Thumbs up!

  • @LeMieux250 Ha ha, ya they get kinda beat up after a while, thanks for the rate

  • i think the term you were looking for is TDC/top dead center(for said piston/rod)

  • very interesting on the valve clearance, and there is no replacement for displacement

a big thumbs up for big block my friend :)

  • thanks for doing the videos they are GREAT

  • @scootersrodshop no problem, they are fun to make

  • Looks like you guys know what you're talking about. I'm learning a little bit at a time here. Nice vid Clay. No pun intended. lol

  • @paisteboy ha ha its all good

  • Wow. fab videos.

  • @larrythelookout thanks

  • but his new setup will work better haha

  • what if he put the nitrous plate on top of the spacer

  • @willcraigle It would seem to make sense to put the plate on top, however then the shape of the spacer would lose some of its effectiveness, a rock and a hard place kind of a problem

  • nice

  • Thumbs up !!!!! Are you going to get more film of this build?

  • @PissOnJapScrap yep, already working on it, thanks a bunch for the rate

  • How many people don't realise there's a lot to it...deck height,lift,gasket thickness,etc...I'm guessing he's going to...get out the pipette...to check comp ratio.

8 lines and hoses to the ports...there's over 1000hp in that...nice manifold...Lets hope he doesn't blow it up thru the scoop....BANG.!!...cheers.

  • @ziggassedup Ive seen a good NOS explosion at the start line, looks real cool if its not your own car, I helped pick up the hood pieces off the track after. I think you can still jet a fogger down to 200 or maybe even less

  • @ziggassedup Yes there is more detail in a race engine than most realize, and alway's more to learn. I'm going to start with a 150hp shot and go up from there. The block is a stock GM block that has studded 2 bolt mains. I don't trust it to handle a lot of spray. Also the cars suspention and chassis is not built for a lot more power. I would have to redesign the chassis. That might be next winters project.

  • @vipermech ..that answered my next question...thanks.

  • Don't forget you can advance or retard the cam if your close~

  • @bigblockmustang thanks for your input my friend

  • this is only recomended for a bigger cam set up right?

  • @bjsniffitproductions yes bigger cams can be a real problem if your not careful, even changing to a different ratio rocker could be a problem, never hurts to check

  • I'm a new sub and I enjoy ur vids!!.....thumbs up!!!

  • @spazz4427 extra awesome cause I got a thumbs up from a new subber, thanks a ton for that

  • man, you get me for a thumbs up everytime! You must know your audience.

  • @Smartymcnotsosmart ha ha thats awesome, you got a smile out of me with that one and thanks for the rate

  • i want to drive that car :)

very cool informative video , nice work buddy

  • @500passwords 1:18 60 foot, you sure would get a kick out of it

  • Cool stuff man.

  • OK first nice day i'm bringing the sled. Those are some nice snow banks!!

  • Great video! There is alot of detail involved in building a high horsepower engine. Lots of money too!

  • @revitup1965 thanks, ya this kind of thing can be a real money pit if you let it get out of hand

  • I love Cheetos

  • if you have a snowmobile get some snowmobiling vids

  • @cullen9017 I dont have a sled but I was planning on doing some video of a buddys sled for this winter

  • im not gonna lie i usualy wing it and dont do this process .... untill now my previous engines had never had any bigger pistons or valves then stock

  • @gassolean ya if its mostly stock its not a big deal, but with these giant cams you gotta keep an eye on things

  • great vid.. thanks

  • nice vid, i it can help out a lot when you trying to get a clearance meusurement but don't know how

and dus u use special clay? or just normal clay that you can buy at a shop for pottery things

  • @gabbermaikel you can use any clay, I got that stuff at a toy store

  • Didn't know we were doin special requests?!? Can I request seeing that motor in a snowmobile?!?

  • @rekjavicxxx yep, around here you can request anything at any time, but you never know whats next

  • @groutaone Cheeto firecrackers!??

  • @rekjavicxxx let me check I think I have some extra but mine are the safe canadian kind

  • cool

  • getting all the use you can out of that go pro aren't you ? lol that incab view while you are headed down the track is pretty cool.

  • @daddytech yes I really like that camera, I got that video from one of my drag race vids in mid summer

  • @groutaone well the price you must have paid for it man i'd personally be using it in EVERY video lol them things aint cheap. :o)

  • @daddytech theyre not bad, under 250 last I checked

  • @groutaone wow actually that's not that bad, last time i checked on ebay they were still like $450.00 but that was around August i believe, if they are getting that cheap yeah i might have to take a second look at them

  • Interesting video

  • Thanks for showing that ! Gerry

  • Interesting vid about the clay Clay!! nice snow drift!!☺

  • @805ROADKING yep the clay tells you what you need to know so things dont go boom

  • Excellent

  • @WhackTheWax thanks

  • Allright,.More Great Chevy HorsePower!!,..Love those Race Cars Too!!,..Great Stuff Bro,..Thanks fer sharein,..Have a Great Week!!,...Chief

  • @Lizard5571 I see you have a few horsepower vids yourself, thanks for stopping in
