@groutaone good i would have to measure, laws are tight here in australia and i want to make a high compression naturally aspirated engine, your videos are great sir! love to watch them
looks of things the rocker was sitting at or near peak valve lift which is NOT the closest clearance. closest clearnace would be around TDC area when valve is coming down and piston is coming up on TDC or just starting on its down stroke from TDC. could have also used a perimeter plate but with the shape of plenum with the humps the fogger is better option. it also looks more bad ass.
hey Groutaone just subscribed was wanting to build a small block ford hipo but dont have quite enough knowledge just yet was thinking of saving my money and going with Dart products for the block but really dont know about the heads and such any comments would be great ?
@turner593 Thanks for the sub, sounds like a killer project with a Dart block and such. Head size and selection would depend on its intended application and rpm range
I just subscribed. I can't stop watching your videos! They're great! Seen your sunflower hull furnace and then the notch trick on the top of the cylinders and now this.. So many cool tricks to make an engine stronger. What do you think of indexing spark plugs? Does it work?
tat IS the best way in my opinion to check for valve clearence. Used this method on my 4 wheeler motor after the high compression piston and crazy lift cam. Nice to see someone else doing this
@heliarche Just hold your head sideways for the next launch and it should straighten right out, just so you know I really appreciate your support for my channel, all your comments its great, thanks man
@groutaone All the crazy stuff you get into, and all the things that many people never have the chance to do, I can't help but love your channel. It's like a window into a special life and you leave it open for any and all to enjoy with you.
Is this your car at the end ? If it is.. i absolutely love it ! I am trying to imagine myself in the seat, feeling the g force holding me to my seat. Very nice ! One quick ride.
@willcraigle It would seem to make sense to put the plate on top, however then the shape of the spacer would lose some of its effectiveness, a rock and a hard place kind of a problem
How many people don't realise there's a lot to it...deck height,lift,gasket thickness,etc...I'm guessing he's going to...get out the pipette...to check comp ratio.
8 lines and hoses to the ports...there's over 1000hp in that...nice manifold...Lets hope he doesn't blow it up thru the scoop....BANG.!!...cheers.
@ziggassedup Ive seen a good NOS explosion at the start line, looks real cool if its not your own car, I helped pick up the hood pieces off the track after. I think you can still jet a fogger down to 200 or maybe even less
@ziggassedup Yes there is more detail in a race engine than most realize, and alway's more to learn. I'm going to start with a 150hp shot and go up from there. The block is a stock GM block that has studded 2 bolt mains. I don't trust it to handle a lot of spray. Also the cars suspention and chassis is not built for a lot more power. I would have to redesign the chassis. That might be next winters project.
@bjsniffitproductions yes bigger cams can be a real problem if your not careful, even changing to a different ratio rocker could be a problem, never hurts to check
@groutaone wow actually that's not that bad, last time i checked on ebay they were still like $450.00 but that was around August i believe, if they are getting that cheap yeah i might have to take a second look at them

Thanks for the new trick.I don't know if I'd need it but I'll remember it.
Also, thanks for the ride at the end.Now if you'll just lend me a compressor to re-inflate my skull I should be ok.
