Ohhhh! Thank you soooo much! I loved that show and my Dad wouldn't take me to see Elmer. And in this episode they mention Mr. Twittle. I remember that name. It was the best show ever up there with Cinamon Bear!
My mother met John Conrad in the early 90s. He was so surprised she knew who he was that he sent her a VHS of all the Elmer the Elephant shows. True story.
WoW!!! I can't believe it, I thought about the shows we've seen growing up. thinking never to be seen again these days, Good clean fun Not like the brain rot crap our kids see now .& seeing today, Elmer The Elephant was one of my favorites & seeing this one had me laughing hard. Hope to see more like this.
When my dad took me to see Elmer the Elephant at a car dealership in Berwyn, I peeked behind the curtains! Imagine the shock when I saw Elmer's head lying on the floor. My dad wiped away my tears and told me it was just make believe! Today I'm 60 and I still love Elmer the Elephant - and he is REAL.
This show was produced at WMAQ TV when they were in the Merchandise Mart. Studio D or E maybe. I had the pleasure to work with Kenny Herman. He was the stagehand who made Elmer work. A great example of the Chicago school of television. Who put his on You Tube? Samules?
