Most of Behind the Mask is included in the supplemental DVD that comes with the movie. Sadly, the only references to Mr. Crawford are still pictures and narratives while the original BBC production incudes his interviews. Pretty shabby treatment of the man who made this show.

Lol, I wish I had that good of a memory!

From what I can remember, this part was mostly about the incredible popularity of the show and to what lengths people would go to get in to see it.

If I remember right, Michael Crawford also told the story about him having to get out of the hospital because Steve Barton (his understudy) had injured himself. I think most people know that story, but it was great finally hearing it. ^^

Well, that's all I can remember... for now. :)

It is absolutely unconscionable that YouTube/Google would pull the soundtrack to this segment. Everyone ought to write directly to the management, and tell them that until they stop this, (it is a PUBLIC program, produced by BBC) that not only will you stop patronizing YouTube, but ALSO the companies that ADVERTISE on Google and YouTube. If a groundswell of public complaint happens, and it goes viral, then maybe they will back off...

This is ridiculous. It was on BBC - everyone could watch it and tape it.

Uploading this documentary on Youtube only makes people more enthousiastic about Phantom.

Thats how the system works. you cant blame youtube or the uploader. The BBC should at least put stuff like this on DVD because there is a lot of interest in it.

i was most unfortunate to have stumbled across the steve harley and sarah brightman music video of the titled song - that was how i discovered phantom of the opera... i could not have been anywhere as big a phantom "phan" as i am now if they had stuck with harley playing the phantom... no offense but harley is just does not fit in the role AT ALL!!!
