  • i just came home and couldent find my fiddle crab i checked the filter and got pinched....

  • @Fish4Thought56 EEEEEK lol

  • um, will shrimp pellets work for my little bros tank? btw, its a preety female crab i got a walmart today and her name is charolate!

  • @sbthomas69 We tried dried shrimp, but they float so that didn't work out. We've been feeding Mr. Crabs regular ol pleco wafers. If the shrimp pellets will sink to the bottom, they will probably do the trick.

  • cute video little girl, glad to see you have such interest in this subject, my fiddler crap keeps escaping lol.

  • @ThePinkispimpin Oh no!! Do you have a lid on the aquarium? We have one but we had to cut a small hole on top get the tubing down to the filter.

  • Great vid, I tried these crabs in a tropical fish tank but the cats decided they where play toys. My water level was an inch or 2 lower so as to float some foam borad on the water so the crabs could dry out from time to time.

  • my fiddler crab is in a freshwater tank with no land and he just climbs the heater for air and he been there for 1 year :D

  • Nice you show some interest for thes magnificent creatures, but these little buddies need more land, and the prefer sand to dig holes in it.

  • @hansices We did sand and it may seem selfish but we replaced it with rocks because the sand was so smelly after a while. He doesn't seem to mind and we gave him more land also but still hides out underneath the live rock 90% of the time. He's a shy guy.

  • @hansices btw, this is Kaylee's mom.

  • Good job Kaylee! I think this was a good video espacally for your age!

  • @Dopemop Thanks!! He's still alive and thriving btw.

  • @chaoman1201 Nope.

  • I came home and my male crab had a huge crack in its head, can you help me figure out why? I have a 10 gallon tank, and a female in it.

  • @ronniegranillo failed mating attempt or fight is the most suspeced and also fell off land

  • @coolecoolcool

Hm. Thanks a bunch, my principals wife told me that might be it... :)

  • Good job! :)

  • My name is Kayle to!!!!But my name only has one e!!!

  • how did you get them ?

  • how big of a tank does it need

  • @AirsoftGines Mr. Crabs is alone in his 10 gallon tank. If we were to get him a mate it would be fine but any more than that is crowding in a 10 gallon aquarium. How big of a tank to you have?

  • @Kristonia69 2 crabs in a 10 gallon tank is not crowded at all. You can fit up to 4 crabs in a 10 gallon comfortably.

  • @Kristonia69 well mine is 3 gallons soo and its fine for my crab

  • My crab loves it!

  • my brother named ours... we have 2 he named 1 mr.crabs until i watched this video and found out they were both girls so now im thinking of a name.... hmmm one the one i named her name is Sandy and the other will be Rocky there!!!! shes soooo cute!!!!!! (Kaylee is).....

  • she is cute!!!!!!! lollzzz

  • She is so cute!! I was looking for info on these crabs because I am thinking of getting one. She sure has some good information. Smart girl!

  • i have a jack dempsey, its around a half year old, and i want to put a crab with him, do you think they will attack each other?

    nice video, very educationel

  • @Feitan44 Dempseys are beautiful fish, however, they are aggressive and they can grow to be very large. Fish experts will say not to put anything in with crabs, but i think that small fish would be ok like guppies or tetras. But def not anything that has the potential to grow big like dempses or plecostomus. They move slower and need more room and would therefore be more prone to getting pinched at. Also they are territorial and don't like other critters in their way.

  • @Feitan44 Put up a vid of your jack dempsey, we'd love to see it!

  • @Feitan44 I have fed my oscars lots of fiddler crabs. The tough crabs will not get eatten. The problem with putting them in a fish tank is they have to get to the surface to breath on a dayly. They will circle the tank looking for a way to get to the surface. I have a pice of grape root. It gos from the bottom corner of the tank to about an inch out of the water.

  • Wow, how long have your crabs been alive?

  • @salchiwebo He's a year old.

  • Wow that is so cool i´ve heard of other youtube users and most of their fiddler crabs have been alive for only weeks or so but yours is impressive!

  • Thanks for the handy guide. You seem the most informed on youtube.

  • thanks kaylee

  • how old is she? shes soooooo cute!!!. im only 14......

    allyissa

  • She is 8 years old. She said thanks for watching, she is very passionate about animals.

  • @Kristonia69

I am passionate about animals too. I have like 8 hermit crabs a nd like 2 fiddler crabs. And a whole bunch of animals . Horse, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 1 cow, guinnea pigs, ferrets, etc.

  • I had no idea about fiddler crabs or that there were such young and intelligent experts on the subject. We just got two dogs at my household but if we were looking for new pets fiddler crabs would be my number one choice!
