The aclu should be fighting to get benefits taken away from EVERYONE in terms of marriage, not just give it to gay people.

Marriage is a religious ceremony, and should be a strictly based on religion, you get no benefits from being married by the state.

Religion doesn't own marriage, simply because there are too many non religious people who get married and too many DIFFERENT religions who practice marriage.

DOMA is a violation of the establishment clause of the first amendment, it's authors need to be impeached.

Religion is not United States law, our laws must be justified without it.

No renaming Blasphemy as Defamation, or creating punishments for defying religious edict.

No oaths requiring Deity or faith recognition.

No conscious clause(religious exemptions) for professionals of public services.

No religious definition for government recognized marrage.

No church incorperation tax breaks.

It's a hopeful sign that President Obama asked the Department of Justice to respect equal rights and privileges under the law as proscribed by the 14th Amendment. Kudos for that small start. The Bill of Rights continues to be trampled by totalitarian political hacks installed by Nixon, Ford, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush, G.W. Bush, Cheney and the legacy left by their henchmen (Rove, Goodling, Goss, Bolton etc.) in the courts, bureaus and agencies. We must never stop demanding our liberty.
