  • Sorry Sir, I am an elevator mechanic for local 10. Yes, accidents can and do happen with elevators. But considering that the car doors nudge with about 30 lbs of force, the likleyhood of loosing your hand is slim. Plus the eye rays would reverse the car doors open unless it was nudging after 30-45 sec depending on set specs. If you are going to continue to make videos of elevator safety, please contact a local elevator union hall ( IUEC ) and they will give you some saftey videos to watch.

    I aggree.

    If the safety sensors fail, as you mentioned, the motor isn't strong enough to cut off apendages (but could injure, albeit minimal chances).

    On top of that, the doors can't latch shut (meet the interlock), thus a complete curcuit not made, to allow the car to move.

    Yeah, quite a few holes.
