Wearing a paint suit not only protects him from solvents, but protects the car from him. 80% of dirt comes from the painter. A 2-stage respirator is not legal to use here in Canada for anything that contains isocyanates, such as single-stage paints, clearcoats and 2K primers. Basically anything with a catalyst. The charcoal filter cannot filter isocyanates. This stuff screws up your central nervous system. Also charcoal absorbs moisture in the air reducing it's lifespan. Buff that rocker Andy!

base should have clear, base is bumpy if to look close, it is asking for the top coat. its not just colors and slapping chemicals around, it goes hand in hand. I like the vid showing you can make the rockers different as it is a beater panel. One of those chores common..

Realistically, you shouldnt have unmasked the lower rocker and cleared the mainbody white portion, then mask the mainbody and sprayed the lower with a flat clear halfclear half101(flopcontrol) cuz then it would match other side which was never Cleared shiny from the factory. haha goofs

it seals the base coat colour in,base coat has a dull satin look when its dry,and would come off on a cloth if you tried to polish it,clear coat is called laquer here in the uk,it gives the paintwork the shine you see on a car and protects it.

I agree,Andy go spend 20-30$ on a paint suit looks very cheesey, also is that a.. NR-95 Sata-Jet primer gun? Go get at least a Sata-3000...i have a Sata-3000 just for clears..that gun needs cleaning.

it seems in america the health and safety laws are pretty lame..in england you would get shut down if caught spraying without correct saftey equipment..very strict here..i agree about overlap ive been spraying cars for 25 years i also spray about 4 inches away..im not saying ive never had a run but the gun finish is much better and less time needed to polish..i can gun finish a car so it doesnt need polishing..as long as no crap lands in it when wet..

First coat of clear was bullshit. Two wet coats of clear would duplicate the OEM finish. I paint cars for living too and I always spray my clear probably 4-5 inches from the surface and never had runs...
