  • Mine and Brandon's theme song;D

  • My teacher was in this !

  • Comment removed

  • Wow... what a beautiful and talented cast. That was nuts!

  • I started college in '75 in the States and was gay. This whole thing totally scared me straight.

  • i just watched Every Little Step this morning and remembered again how much I loved this musical, every single story, every single song.

  • I've seen countless contemporary versions of this choreography and NONE can replicate Bennet's original execution skill and speed! I wish I can find just ONE dancer that can do this as exact!

  • Performing in this at my camp! So hard!

  • For a gag at the end of the high school production of Peter pan I am in, we are doing this dance. The ages in the play run from 8-18

  • I'm here because of "The Land Of The Lost" :)

  • @theskullmaster5898 Same lol

  • So awesome! I love this number so much and the choreo and dancing is spectacular!!!

  • Wow talk about gays

  • the dancing in this show in my not exactly expert opinion is unmatched!

  • @BOGC4goofballs It is not supposed to be perfect they are auditioning, they are told the steps and have to do them right then, no time to reherse

  • BalletBabyBoy means that the sound is not synced properly. The audio is about 2 counts delayed.

  • learned it now doin it in dance class.. people askin how you know how to do it...thumbs up if u know the dance.

  • CHAKA!!

  • Don't worry about it mark. I am friendly with Donna and she is really wonderful. All I can say right now is that the people who ran the show back then were power mad and very evil. Great success made them worse than any of the stories you hear. I don't mean the cast either.

  • @markmole. I was in the first national company. I knew all these people. If I say the sound is off, it's off!

  • @BalletBabyBoy, I'm in awe that you knew my idols, utterly fab. Donna is so far beyond a goddess to me it's nuts. I lived and breathed ACL like a religion at 16. Please tell us more about your experience. Sorry, the sound works on my 'puter, maybe there's an Internet bug at work ;-(

  • @markmole I think she means the pitch is off, not that you can't hear the sound...

  • @Jamesscalise, lol, maybe that's it ;-) It could well be that the pitch is off, BUT you have to take the good with the bad, footage of the original cast is so rare, you take what you can get.

  • @BalletBabyBoy OK, bs aside, rewatched it, and you're right, it's *way* off. Probably the original codec has morphed over time, sorry babyboy ;-)

  • The sound is off.

  • @BalletBabyBoy Hit your mute button ;-)

  • the beginning group dance is the single hardest piece of choreography i have ever learned. more power to the dancers!

  • soundtrack from the land of the lost....

  • Only Donna McKechnie could win a leading actress Tony in an ensemble piece.

  • I love the ending transition. Always gives me chilling sensations

  • like if you searched this because Land of the Lost

  • @jrocks1957 you are an ignorant

  • Sure is better than when they opened with the revival a couple of years ago.

  • None of you got it..you all SUCK.

  • 240p? Film quality wasn't that low back then. Who digitized this?

  • Every single time I hear those trumpets blaring it gives me chills. Every. Single. Time.

  • Every single time I hear those trumpets blaring it gives me chills. Every. Single. Time.

  • I had waited years to see the live production of "A Chorus Line". It recently came to the Morris Theater in South Bend, IN, and I finally got to see it. Unfortunately, though I had really high expectations, and that production didn't quite meet them. It was good, just not excellent.

  • That was so great!! I can't believe people actually still have this stuff from the 70's. But I'm happy that they do!!

  • this is just a scheme to control the dancing god Shiva ......you do realize they made this movie because of me right? and DAN----cing was chosen because of Dan's name, they seek to redistribute a manipulative state over the astral plan using the jewish tribe of Dan, it isn't even really called DANCING, only after their pollution of such

  • @booyahz... Right. Planet Crazy just called... they're gonna need you to beam yourself back home.

  • @markmole

that's impossible my # is private, and you don't know who has called me because I built up steel walls around myself to keep moles like you from venturing too far, also i saw one of your buddies dead on the sidewalk last time I took a walk

  • @booyahz cocaine is a helluva drug

  • @thinkwithurdipstick

I have never taken drugs in my life, gg

  • Cha-KA YOU JEW!!

  • the opening piano sounds like the beginning riff to life during wartime....."heard of a van..."

  • I am in this show right now and this dance is one of my favorites for the dance aspect of course all dances in the shoe are amazing

  • The best part of this video....the end.

  • @rrrrrrrrreee you do know that this song is about them learning the dance for the first time right? Hence the actors are making mistakes on purpose - they're not supposed to be perfect. Maybe you shouldn't pass judgment on the talented original cast of a Broadway show. Could you dance any better?

  • @rrrrrrrrreee Oh really? They suck? Well, I'd like to see YOU pull off all of that choreography. Once you do it better than them, I'll listen to your opinion.

  • Cha-Ka YOU BASTARD

  • mmmh haha "land of the lost"

  • i get goose pimples the second i hear those opening chords..

  • Not a chorus line....i love show tunes...they really tell the story of the human condition

  • its so true!!

  • ...Who am I anyway, am I my resume?

That is a picture of a person I don't know.

What does he want from me...

  • We learnt this routine at my drama school. It is a KILLER! I had never danced before I went to the school last September and now I can proudly say I did this. I certainly wouldn't have made the cut, but I am so much closer to A Chorus Line than I was a year ago. It must be so brilliant to be an amazing dancer.

  • The world is sadder and darker without Michael Bennett in it.....

  • If I only had a time machine. What a great time. Emma...23...lol

  • Ugh. The Tony Awards have gone so downhill since these days. We need to start having some performances from the classics and get away from these awful new productions.

  • @fowlertown I totally agree

  • "no there are no showtunes on this ride"

  • This show celebates DANCERS, without which there no Musicals on bway

  • Viva- it's "I knew them when I was in the front" ;-)

  • @hellolampostflowers1 Congratulations. This is the dumbest comment I have seen this week.

  • @hellolampostflowers1 Yeah because God knows they really didn't care about landing a job. they jsut wanted to be on TV.....

  • Best show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • will ferrell did it best XD

  • Yeah I looked this up because of the land of the lost lol.

  • Land of the lost MADE this. LOL

  • Narrator: Do you know the moves Shelia?

Shelia: I knew them when I was depperessed.

    LOLZ

  • When I saw that scene in Land ofthe lost, i expected grotesque creatures dancing this, cause I already saw the play. LOLZ

  • Man, do i love this play!! I've got an autographed poster in my room!

  • the only reason im watching this is because of land of the lost, WHOS WITH ME!

  • @SkyDiveDoc22 HA! Yes!

  • I like when will ferell and the other actors sang this song in Land of the Lost! LOL

  • That's pretty gay. Youre right it is great. After 7 burritos in I found myself at subway wolfing down a 12" veggie and blabbering to a cutout of Jared.

  • @dgallegos4201 it's powering through a 12"...one of the few funny lines in the movie, and pretty much the only reason why I'm watching this clip now!

  • no but it won the first oliver award in the 1970's

  • "I knew it when I was in the front. . ."

    Sass-a-frass!

  • scary shit

  • i learned this dance in two days

  • Aaaahhhhhhh I love A Chorus Line!! Thank you so much for this footage, it's awesome!

  • Love this!!!

  • I learned this dance in a master class of mine. Good stufff

  • Its complicated. o.o

  • Amazing clip, thanks so much for posting it. You can feel the thrill when Zach first yells the "Ah-5-6-7-8!" and the audience starts clapping. This show must have must have been such a favorite that year because not only is it so good, but it's about Broadway--it's a show about that community.

  • omg! i dont wanna sound corny because i honestly do respect and admire this play, but i get that same thrill and its my favorite moment of this clip. I just really wish i could see it again live.=), still cant help getting goosebumps from that moment

  • FYI:

Zach was Robert LuPone...Brother of the one and only Miss Patti LuPone!

  • Any of the original men from the 76 production still alive? AIDS took some, I'm sure. Let's hear from some of the original cast members here!

  • Gone: Cameron Mason (Mark), Michel Stuart (Greg), Clive (Clerk) Wilson (Larry), Thommie Walsh (Bobby). Only Mason died of AIDS, I believe.

  • Perfect!!!

  • Wasn't this on Land of the Lost?

  • *sigh* Yes, but it's originally from here.

  • Yeah guys, we get it, this song was in Land of the Lost. Now stop talking about it and enjoy the song.

  • haha me too

  • ME TOO!!

  • right after i saw land of the lost i had to search this

  • LOL!! Me too!

  • I know! My sons are ages 5 and 7 and their absolute favorite moment in the entire movie was when Cha-Ka belted out "I've got to get this job" and then immediately started to speak monkey language again. I told them I'd show them A Chorus Line on YouTube as soon as we got home. That entire movie was pretty entertaining. Very silly and very funny.

  • that's the only reason I looked this up! I love it when Chaka randomly starts singing it! ROFL

  • let's hope Osama Bin Laden doesn't know show tunes.

  • You can feel the tension and desperation in this piece. I think a lot of us Americans feel the exact same way right now. Unemployment is creeping slowly up to ten percent. I can truly relate to this, and have said it myself "please, God, I need this job." Thank you so much for putting this up, it really was one of the greatest Broadway shows of all time.

  • pivot step..walk ...walk..walk..lol

  • Real Broadway before personal mics

  • Amen. And realistic people. Not the whole "Disney Voice" thing that's going on.

  • This looks like the original cast from the 70s. I saw the show 5 times!

  • Yes! This is from the 1976 Tony Awards telecast, with all
