Thanks for showing the difference. Im English but have been taught by two generations of English to do American style and not continental - weird huh!
Why does everyone thing there's only 2 ways (English & Continental) to knit? There's also Portuguese (I've used the method. Purling moreso than knit stitch), Peruvian, and Eastern European. I've opted for the Eastern European method because it' the fastest and easiest for me.
@gypsyqueen64 Really interesting all these different methods to choose from. I use the German method which is not shown correctly in these English videos. It's the best way for me to get some even and smooth results, and it's really fast, too. I'm able to knit the eastern European way as well but I think you have to do a lot more twisting around with the yarn.
@gypsyqueen64 demos of the other versions are shown just not in this video. When this one finished, up next was the Portuguese method. Up to today, I didn't even know there were other methods or that the method I used had a name (I learned the continental method 35 years ago). Now I find out there are a bunch of methods. Thanks to the internet and books, we can learn how to do various methods regardless of where we live or which method we started off with.

Wow. This is a revelation. I kept sticking the needle in the other way, and I would get my stitches all twisted. Thank you!!!
