I dont think they're underrated. They were really popular drom the mid to the end of the 90's. When i was 17 almost everyone loved it around me, even those who didn't like punk rock. The ones hated it, hated them just because the others loved them. :)

The only people who claim true punk rights are sad and worthless losers. This band sucks for entirely different reasons, in my books. Green Day sucks for similar reasons, but they're both derivatives of punk and they're first albums were definately punk. But you grow up and get better with your instruments and soon you give up on 3 chord riffs. But they do have roots in punk, both bands.

If you like a band or artist you shouldn't care what genre it is. If you like something then that's cool. Why compare Offspring to Green Day? They both do what they want.
