Just discovered that originally this scene was only going to have Molly Ringwald/Claire dancing. The only reason they didn't do that was because she felt awkward. SO GLAD THEY ALL DANCED.
What we need to do instead of saying I wish I was born in the 80s and all this yada yada yada is bring good music and style back. Seems simple enough to me. Now all you guys have to do is join me because I write 80s sounding music everyday and also listen to the classics. Don't care what other people do with their shitty lives because if they want to be miserable with their new fangled ways. Then thats their fault.
@Metalitron12 Nice bro ,I mean for being born in 91 and recognizing good music is just awesome.Right on man you said it perfect.I was born 1980 btw .was not a teen during the 80s.sure wish i could have been but i did get to experince it.It was great!! Cartoons were the shit and movies in the 80s.I mean cmon,Lady fucking puke gaga really? lmao The name should have said it enough.
@Metalitron12 Pfft, I drink Pepsi throwback and listen to LP's on a turntable with usb port. =)) I search out the good of today that resembles the best of the classic shit. Which in of itself is VERY 80's since that's all they did was evolve the best of the 50's and 60's. Ex. WWF in its prime. That was an evolution of the old Gorgeous George era. The Max on Saved by the Bell was a glorified Mel's Diner. o.O
Molly Ringwald really looked great back then. Man I think I am falling a bit in love Hahaha LOL It makes me wish I would have found a girl looking like that wen I was that age. LOL.... No serious now she did look great back then and I adore looks like that and the music to this one is great to ;) So have fun listening to it.
@DevonFigures21 Good taste she is not that bad ether, I give here second place as sexiness in the movie. But I still prefer Molly Ringwald on first place :D Not as sexy but she has something cute in here looks that Ally Sheedy does not, but I agree Ally Sheedy is more sexy as far as sexiness goes in this movie and that you talk off "pre and post-makeover". ;)
I don't even see why you'd post something like that. If you think it's funny then your an immature little asshole... If your serious then you have some inner demons you should deal with.
I wish I lived in the 80's... Born in 1994 and it sucks. I hate my generation.
@crappyblackberries You and me both! Ugh, it makes me so mad. @PulpFictionFTW88 She doesnt want to suck your 2 inch dick. You should kick your own ass for putting something so fucking moronic on youtube. Have a nice day sir :)
@spywez hi! Your comment made me literally laugh out loud! I so agree with you, but we must pity them, as they DIDN'T get to experience the 80's! :) poor things...
@chelseababy81 - I was a teenager back in the 80s (class of '89) and it's nothing like the way it's portrayed by Hollywood. Greed was good and the cold war was a constant headache. Kids today have the internet to help with homework (or anything else for that matter). If you had incomprehensible Algebra homework back in the 80s, you either got help from parents or arrived at school early to ask your teacher. Otherwise, you were out of luck.
who the f doesnt like this vid. the breakfast club is the best movie everor atleast i think it is. in fact im gunna go watch it now. luv bender. soooo hott.
The point of the movie was to unmask the people behind the stereotypes. Because they're an illusion, they don't even like them, they feel imprisoned by them. That's why they unite, it's a way of both seizing their individual identity and dismissing the label (behaviorally) that society has infected them with. They don't actually need to think a certain way about each other, or be a certain way, it's up to them. That's the point.
Well because you said 'despite' the stereotypes. Which could potentially suggest that you think they hurt the film in some way, when the premise of the film wouldn't work without them - and they don't exist. But yeah, if that's what you meant, you know, that's cool.
@futurestoryteller No, I meant, 'despite' as in I am a teenager, and although some of the stereotypes are completely different to me, I still love them.
I think Ally Sheedy (before the end) is cute, cause she is so different and i think she has so much thoughts even thought she doesn't tell those to others. Well... The thing was that she was really cute! x3
I saw this flick when it first came out, I was soooooooooo attracted to Judd Nelson! I graduated in in 1986, I feel so lucky now looking back! This movie hasone of the best soundtracks too!
I listen to this song whenever I get depressed and it makes me happy again because it reminds me of that scene from The Breakfast Club. It's like an inexpensive and guiltless version of taking antidepressants.
for all of u who saw this film at that age and the other teen movies of the mid 80's.. my hat is of to u cuz what a time of shit of not knowing if u were gonna get blown up or not belong to anything.history repeats it'self.
@megaprettyprincess13 There is no reason to get rude just because I have a different opinion. But excuse me that I´ve heard your feelings. This wasn´t my intention.
@VitoPossilipo I agree with her original way more beautiful too. But I'm straightedge and I even support this movie. Why? It shows everyone a generation, plus all the actors played their parts correctly. It was perfect, only problem I had with it was the fact they never explianed the scene before they got the pot, it's lke John's pissed, next scene they're walking through the school! WTF??
By the way: It irritates that it seems to be okay in the USA to show marihuana consumption. Even in the context of a family like between the parents in "Poltergeist".

I also find it strange that shows about school often present it as being hip and cool to be an underarchiever, whereas our parents and teachers say we should be good at school.

The issues me go through, the things that make us laugh, the things that make us cry. school, friends, life in general, its all still the same ^_^
I think it's good that she wasn't really a 'goth' though - her character seemed more organic than the people who dislodge themselves from everyone else just because they like the image. A lot of the kids were like that, they weren't ridiculous, that's what I liked about it.
Just discovered that originally this scene was only going to have Molly Ringwald/Claire dancing. The only reason they didn't do that was because she felt awkward. SO GLAD THEY ALL DANCED.

@Beatmyguest001

I like Allison when she's so goth. :)

i totally agree i hated her makeover

@Emomopman
I think it's good that she wasn't really a 'goth' though - her character seemed more organic than the people who dislodge themselves from everyone else just because they like the image. A lot of the kids were like that, they weren't ridiculous, that's what I liked about it.

Great movie - great performers. 25 years later, they all know firsthand that, alas, you're only that thin ONCE in a lifetime.
