Sorry guys i tried this game and to me it seems like any other common mmo. all new mmo devs say that their game appears to be a "next generation" but in the end its just simple as every other mmo. most important spawn isnt a "next generation" thing. i have played tones of mmos in my life and i can clearly see how they copy things from each other. if you want a true next generation mmo then create something that doesnt rips ideas for other games.

I have played many MMO's myself, and this is the first one where the players get raided. The longer you play, the higher levels you achieve, the more amazing it gets.

Everything about it is Epic... with the possible exception of the guys they have in this video. And the voiceover guy. And the sense of danger and fear. And any sense of needing to really work hard to build up a really epic character. And the animations that look like they are ripped from any other game. And the mobs that all look like filler.

Warcraft lore is carbon copy and just dumb downed. They wanted right in the US and Games workshop who owns Warhammer said no way. and you have warcraft and starcraft born. as warhammer40k was out way before starcraft ;)

I love that teleporting sniper thing, what combination would that be? Rifstalker and Marksman? Is MArksman, Riftstalker and Saboteur good? Mainly going for nice ranged dps, with no pets.

P.S Are marksmans good with bows?

@TheSnorgo Well As a Marksman, Ranger, Bard, I would say that it's an great experiment :). Riftstalker is more of a Tanky soul and Marksman is ranged.Tho you have to know that from my experience Sabuteurs are only good if you really put alot of points into the soul tree...I was a Sabuteur b4 and I noticed that the Bombs has way less Ranged Dps than the Marksman ability's... But I think that if you try it out you'll see if it's good if not... try Bard?? Good buffs strong Ranged and good melee.

@TheLugizz TY for the feedback. I do like the teleporting sniper in the video ALOT lol, and I know that Riftstalker have phase shift. And I don't want to completely go down in ranged. So I do want Marksman and Riftstalker because RS has good melee abilites and teleporting incase the enemies somehow get a close up. Hehe, I haven't got the game yet, have to wait till end of year. But i'll just experiment with the Sab or Bard.

for pvp ofc,

you can replace the ranger for pvp however, pets that you get in that tree are mainly for tanking (the low tier ones anyway)

I'll say I may enjoy Guild Wars 2 more because Rift is an MMO that took the good things from a lot of different MMOs (mostly WoW) and made them better. Guild Wars 2 Is supposedly dioing amazing things with phasing and a whole bunch of new things for MMOs. I couldn't tell which is better yet though because GW2 isn't out yet though. All in all I'll put my thumbs in GW2 because I've GW1 a whole lot more than WoW. But Rift is still VERY good.

@gaza1098 Left unchecked rifts will spawn invasion forces that have objectives (villages, outposts and even cities). If that happened all the NPC's will die and it has to be retaken. It will reset automatically after some time but that can take a few hours. The invasion forces themselves can be hard as nails as well and will kill you if you are not careful.

@arunas137 I played the open beta and let me tell you something, this game is WoW reskined. It will be big during the first two months but then it will fail just like Aion. WoW is old now, when it first came out it was the best game to date and it really gave something new. WoW has the history that almost no game ever will get. how many MMO have 4 games before it that created a complex and unique history and then a MMO to combine it all from a new aspect? WoW have that history and was amasing when it came, but now its old and its graphics and stuff is falling behind to games (probably) like Rift :) - atleast thats what i think
