  • wow. i wish u could me my teacher man ;)

  • is your son kingsley?!? loll

  • I've been really sad lately because I have a passion for singing yet I thought I had a really bad singing voice. But after discovering your channel today and watching your videos I honestly feel I can sing so much better!

You are simply awesome. But what's the point of telling you something you already know? :)

  • you are amazing....

    that is all

  • @kingq101 HA HA!!!! Thank you ever so much!

  • how did u change keys so quickly like that at 8:00, do you have perfect pitch?

  • @IsaacJ0901 Lol! Yes, I actually do. My music teacher in high school was HARD on us about pitch so it's pretty much seared into my skull. Thanks so much for watching. =)

  • @lloyd614 how did you learn it did you just listen to one note over and over again or just from experience cus I would love to be able to do that but it seems so impossible

  • Kingsley on steroids. <3 lmafo

  • Hey Erik, great video! Waiting for this video since I've ever heard the song. Just wondering, how do you determine the key to sing? Or do you sing other songs in 'A' as well?

  • @mrtommy712 Great question! "A" above middle "C" is the height of my natural voice range. I occasionally hit notes above "A" in my adlibs, but comfortably and effortlessly the "A" is best for me. Because of this, I double check every song and depending on the style of it, as long as I can hit that "A" as my shining moment, that is the determining factor as to what key I will sing the song in.

  • As much as I enjoy hearing you play with harmonies, I actually enjoy basic videos like this one more. They are simple, easy to follow and very informative and we get to hear you sing live. I think that this is how they should be most of the time.

Also, song suggestion: Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

  • I totally LOVE your laugh :)

  • @KarlaAguiilar Of course that made me laugh again! LOL! Thank you!

  • thanks bro for that! u are awesome!

  • Chris Cornell does these songs about love or relationships that are irreparable, yet haunting and filled with nostalgia. "I am the highway" comes to mind

  • Brilliant lesson, thank you E! You ROCK DA HOUSE!

  • Hey! This is great stuff. But I was wondering, how so you determine your range to a song? I'm guessing that you don't need to sing an 'A' for eery song right?

  • 8:13 "When you come out of the battle of LOVE with somebody and when really when it's a matter of a relationship, no one wins when there's a battle like that. You just basically have two victims that now need to learn how to heal before going on to their next situations" <----- DEEP....preach, Erik!

  • @malcolmlewis013 Wow, I've never been quoted like that before. Thank you!!!!! I'm glad that part got to you!

  • @lloyd614 Oh no, that was definitely deserving of a quoting! No problem!! And yes, it did get to me...it's one of those universal, relevant themes in life that is hard to ignore.

  • funny im sinign that tonight at a gig

  • welcome back

  • whoo good stuff!

  • You are a CHARACTER! I'm over here cracking up LOL! Great lesson...and message! Umm, you were preachin' real good, mister (re: the art of courting)

  • @WordSmith79 TRAV! LOL!!!! Glad you liked it. You know we got to teach the children. I love getting older. Life has shown us so much!

  • THANKK YOUUUUUUUU
