Pavarotti's declamation in the recitative is so wonderful, what a pity that the other tenor who sings Idomeneo is so weak....

Pavarotti took something of a risk to sing Idomeneo, for "personal pleasure and satisfaction" as vocally it is a baritone role with a good top note.
