  • I can't read what are thye saying .-.

  • This is a very important recording of the Verdi Requiem, because everyone in Choir and Orchestra knew, that the Conductor, Ferenç Fricsay, would die soon! It was his own farewell and Maria Stader sang her soul out of her little body; she was only 1.44m tall! Even Herbert von Karajan was sitting in the church and meant afterwards: "The greatest surprise was Maria Stader in this work!" - I thank my great teacher Maria Stader for all she gave me! She learnt me, always to sing with the entire soul!

  • @brunosilvershadow hey! that is actually very interesting! I would have never thought there was such a moving story behind this recording. Thank you for sharing!

  • @brunosilvershadow Thank you for sharing. This is my absolute favorite recording of this piece for that very reason: Stader's passion is unmatched and perfectly balanced with the beauty and terror of the piece.

  • this is too fast

  • Il rutilante rovinio delle ultime realtà non seconda l'immane dolore della prima parte se pur un recupero è nell'ultimo afflato "libera me Domine"

  • Is it my ears or is the orchestra a little sharp?

  • The more I listen to this woman, the more I like her.
