Very interesting. Having to get tickets before going into the shop, I've never seen anything like that before... I would love to try a place like that. I live in America and there's a ramen and ishiyaki shop nearby, but I'm sure nothing beats the authenticity of actually being in Japan
@Mac1634 Yes its pretty cool, some places have a touchscreen at your table to order meals. Let us know how the Japananese Ramen compares to the Us ones when you try the J ones : )
Not as diificult as it looks, Fumi had to muck around a little more at the start coz she had no change. Pretty much just press the button next to the picture that looks good, then put in the money. Get ticket, waitress hands you your preferences sheet to fill out, which is also available in English. You could just tick the middle (normal) all the way down if you were in a hurry. Its nice to have a choice though, rather than just how much salt & pepper your going to use.
Interesting, are those types of places common? I went to Japan last Christmas for 2 weeks (Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima) and I don't remember going to any place like that.
There's a few around, the place I had dinner with Kevin used one where there was a touchscreen LCD at your table to order your food. Reynoldsair has one in one of his vids...I wouldn't say they're common, but there are quite a few around...Your trip sounds cool mate, I'll be uploading some vids of Kyoto, its a great place : )
They have some very interesting ordering systems over there, its a real eye opener for most gaijin I think & yeah most of the food is very good, I just don't like those shellfish things : )

I know the feeling mate, so hard to even come close to the masters. Gyoza on the other hand, we do a pretty good : )
MicknFumi 2 years ago
Yeah gyoza is much easier to make them taste like the Japanese once, but to make them look is a whole different story ha ha

@MageThief
lol your right there, we've just about mastered the rolling them up, but to cook without sticking & ripping the pastry is another story ; P
