@shimlaDnB And I think this needs to be a new sub-genre. That's just so fucking brutal and hard but not dark, rly. I know You're making 'similar' things (btw. thanks for spotting this one for me) and You call it darkstep... as most people does (not really a difference how we call that). But compare this to Technical Itch - Haunted or Limewax - Bomb. Difference? Yes, you can call 'darkstep just goes this way' but it would be big loss to forget about old dark atmos... This is my opinion.
@nujabes7 Personally, I never heard this term. But while was hearing new darkstep tunes there was more and more characteristic darksteppy drums and less other things was wondering if it's still the same sub-genre (limewax, current value, lucio de rimanez and more). It's so fucking great, for sure! Agreed. Just dig into darkstep, because term wreckstep isn't popular, and hell - i don't care so much about naming. Just, why not if it's more precise?
this is the only cv collab [besides donny] that it actually sounds l cv AND someone else. Lol. It usually sounds like only one artist in the collab owns. Not this one.:D.
Yea no doubt, Current Value is definitely one of the best producers in the game. I sourced all of his drum samlpes and his methods for getting that clangy sound but to actually get them to sound the way he does is another story.
First don't call me a douche bag you arrogant cunt. Second, I don't think it's just the shit youtube sound. It sounds a bit cheap compared to some of Current Value's and Limewax's stuff. It's still nasty as hell, but not as good as I hoped. I'll try hear it in better sound quality but I still doubt it's going to be as good as some of their other tracks
LOL-Nice comeback. W/e we call each other your first comment was shit! ;]
I own Yamaha HS80M's and the tune is flawless. Pounds to no fucking end! Max and Tim (Limewax & Current Value) are constantly changing the filters and master techniques they use which is why some tunes sound diff then others. Besides SPL ,Tech itch, and of Course Gein, no one is better at production and mastering then these 2 fellas. I would encourage you to find some quality monitors and give a listen to the proper 320
Yeah, They both are insanely talented producers, This track does sound fucking good compared to a lot of producers around. All I was saying is that I'm not that keen on the drums in this track. I'm glad they experiment with different sounds, otherwise they would start to sound stale, just I'm not a fan of the drums in this track. Understand. Also I am planning on getting some monitors soon. Yamaha HS80M's any good?
Well in speaking with Tech Itch he suggested I purchase them, so yeah they're good! ;]
Just google the name and they come up for about 345.00 each at guitar center. I widdled them down to 285.00 a peice. Either those or I would suggest the KRK 8"'s. You want at leats an 8" woofer so you can hit all the bass frequencies.
Yes. I speak to him occasionally. He was interested in a tune of ours for a bit (I'm DRDN of Carnal Motive btw) but the tune didn't pan out. We never got it to sound exactly how we wanted so he didn't sign it. We still send him tunes tho, so i'm sure eventually he'll pick something of ours up.

i'm not impressed at all with this release. it's extremely average for the colloboration of the two. they both can do 3 times better. i've heard all the buzz about this track, but personally i dont get it. the drums are pretty dilute compared to their other releases.
insane track, it doesn't get more mindblowing than this one
