  • My Japan!! In 1940 Japanese done it.

  • A well designed craft in my opinion, in case anyone is interested the last existing craft (they only made two) is kept the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC in storage (not on display)

  • This is my favorite airbplane.

    Great video!

  • what will happendif it flew the other way?

  • @nolifemerc it flies backwards.

  • @nolifemerc the world would implode

  • Brilliant.

(10 dislikes!? Lol, I'll never understand a thing like that. What is there to dislike? I suppose there has to be some percentage who simply miss with the mouse pointer, lol)

  • Awesome Fighter and excellent Model!! My respect, and congrats for this display. There´s a very similar design based in this fighter, that was used by GAINAX Studios in their movie "Wings of Honneamise", a very good and beautifull movie. Search in Youtube by "Royal Space Force (Wings of Honneamise) - Fly Fragment". I guarantee some emotion tears. :D Seeya!!

  • Outstanding!!

  • RCかっこいい! good!

  • i chose to build a balsa glider with coreless motor and rotor prop from micro heli(and li-po battery). it took off and flew for about 1/2 a mile and then i lost it because it was only about 6" long and couldn't see it at that altitude. it really had the sillouette of the j7w.

  • really interesting looking plane... its a pity, but the fuse doesn't look capable of super sonic flight... still aesthetic tho. thnx for sharing

  • @frackcha they also had a turbine powered plane called the j7w-1. before the supersonic age. as you can tell, they scrapped the whole deal at the end of the war. (so it is told.)

  • Kool, one of the coolest things I have seen in youtube, It looks just like the big one.

  • I want this! and I have sugoi Idea ! I want to talk with you!

  • Needs a jet engine. lol

  • @JPSG3

    watch?v=Pvqr2belX4s

    jetted RC Shinden

  • I didn't know that Shinden was the schedule equipped with the jet engine from Germany.

And painful that the airplane of such a nice design appeared from the war :(

  • nice project,video and music!!!

    Thanks

  • Strangely enough I was just reading about this plane last night. Nice job and thanks for posting! :-)

  • By the end of WW-2 the race was on just to see who could build the coolest shit!

  • wow, nice job on that one....very nice plane

  • That thing is FAST! Very nicely done. Congrats!

  • Thanks for this nice vid, good flight !

  • could i just take a plastic model of the plane and RC it?

  • lol this takes me back... anyone else here remember Aces of the Pacific?

  • In all relevant aspects, it's basically a copy of the old Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender from the 1930s. The big difference is that the XP-55 actually flew, was tested and was first. Beautiful job on the RC plane! Looks and flies great.

  • the jet engines (the plans anyway) never reached japan coz the brits sunk their submarine!!!!! GOOD OLD BRITS

  • the jet engines never reached japan coz the brits sunk their submarine!!!!! GOOD OLD BRITS

  • What about the landing?

  • @jupabeco Perhaps,it ends in kamikaze attack to the ground.lol

  • これがジェットエンジンであったならB-29など日本の空から

    一掃できたと思いますよ。

    局地戦闘機が無かったためにアメリカにやられた。

    発想や技術はあっても物資がなくてはだめだったんですね。

  • Shinden was a very cool plane! too bad it never went operational.

  • Very nice wee model, was this a kit or scratchbuilt?

    Love the launching platform too.

  • このRC震電ほしいな。

  • Muito bom, dificil encontrar, alguma coisa sobre esta "avis rara".

Avião de conceito muito a frente de seu tempo.

    Parabeuns

  • As a Japanese,I am very glad that a European is interested in a Jap fighter .

  • Very good work !

    Danke Schoen !

    From Japan

  • is it hand made or a kit?

  • is that an RC and it is a very......unusual design.

  • The only plane with a propeller behind........

  • WOW I never knew that there was a plane designed like this.

  • やべぇ。マジかっこいいわ

  • Looks like a fairly stable electric flier. Did you use a 5 blade prop because 6 are probably impossible to find?

  • ラジコンとは言えやっぱり離陸が難しそうだな

  • Actually that plane was originally designed during the world war II Era so that Jet pulpulsion could be mounted it was never really designed to be used with a propeller system.

Quick question though where did you get the music from though??

  • @wjeon143 Sounds like "Sweet Harmony" by "The Beloved". If you ever saw the MTV show "Beavis & Butthead", the video for this song was used on one of the episodes. (It's the one full of "nekkid chicks" as in "they must have known that the song would suck - that;s why they tossed in all the nekkid chicks")

  • すごすぎて失禁しました。

  • nice plane, i wish i had an actual J7W1 shinden, such a cool plane.

  • wow its great!

  • I guess it goes with out saying that you didn't find the canard configuration particularly difficult to pilot, but was there an initial learning curve?

  • Thank you all for your very nice comments :o)

  • what a lucky man, me and my son were excited with your beautiful plane. Congratulations

  • What did happen when the American fighters shoot the prop? For the prop its a big disadvantage to being at the behind...

  • @olcaytoperez I think it broke :P

  • good looking and flying, good project

  • ジェット機の始祖鳥か

    言いえて妙な表現だ!

  • Nice looking airplane

  • What a great !

  • ジェット機の始祖鳥ですね

  • Nice

  • The Shinden was a real futuristic plane...Did you designed that awesome electric model!!??

  • He was barely into production just at the end of the war, but he would not able to compete with the HELLCAT American, and who also appeared too late to participate in the conflict between Americans and Japanese.

  • Did you mean the BEARCAT? The hellcat was indeed in service during the war.

  • well yes, the bearcat

  • it´s like XP 55 Ascender

  • it was the next generacion of fast planes

  • Absolutely Awesome! So cool and so original. Thanks for not doing any aerobatics. That stuff gets boring fast. I would like to fly them the way real planes fly. Maybe just a few tricks, but nothing radical.

  • エクセレント!

  • かっけえええ

  • Great!!

    Mr.michaelghammer, thank you very much!!

I am glad to see this movie as a Japanese.

  • ☺☻♥♦♣♠b7

  • Beautiful job.Someone knows what they are doing. The model not only looks awesome but flies well too.Nice work.

  • what a beautiful song.Does anybody knows the title?

  • THE BELOVED - SWEET ARMONY

  • American pilots 「Wtf... Japs are flying backwards!」

  • ROFL

  • 昔、プラモ作ったよ。

  • (´・ω・`) 震電かっこいいな

  • すばらしい!!!!

  • Is it me or is this song a clone of Laura Branigan's Self Control?

  • This airplane is from Japan, and its called 'shinden'.

shinden is a meaning rock'n'roll thunder.

It was made as a strategic part to U.S. (as an opposition model of F8F) World War II by Japanese Imperial Army.

    a designer is my grandfather.

  • Too much excellence !!!

    Comment from Tokyo.

  • Hey would this aircraft had been capable of being used on an aircraft carrier anyways?

  • Nope. Not enough prop clearance.

  • this fighter may have been capable of long range like the zero

  • very nice plane, and video

  • Cooooool!

  • the real plane looks more turbo prop than jet

  • it was designed as a jet engine plane, but the jets that were ordered never made it to japan, so piston engines were used instead

  • It supposedly was able to completely outmanuever and outgun any allied aircraft... Imagine if Japan had these planes and started production on them around the mid-late 1942?

  • @kkage2: The Kyūshū J7W1 Shinden (震電, "Magnificent Lightning") fighter was expected to be a highly maneuverable interceptor, but only two were finished before the end of war. Plans were also drawn up for a jet-powered version (J7W2 Shinden Kai),[2] but this never left the drawing board. The J7W was developed for the Imperial Japanese Navy as a specific response to the B-29 Superfortress raids on the Japanese homeland.

  • @uglyengineer initially it was designed as a jet plane, but they couldn't get the engines they wanted, so they re-designed the plane to be piston-powered.

  • I don't know if they couldn't get the jet engines or not, what I DO KNOW is that the plane was introduced too late in the war to make a difference. Remember, they only had two prototypes, PERIOD. I don't think all the jet engines in the world would have made a difference or not, they simply didn't have the time to fully work the design out to full production model. Its a little difficult to say they simply didn't have access to engines with only two prototypes. I think they just ran out of time.

  • @uglyengineer thats true, but remember, they didnt know the war was going to end when they started building the prototypes.. And all i'm trying to say is that the planes were initally designed to be jet engine powered, but due to problems in germany they couldnt get the engines..

  • i want one!

  • Comment removed

  • Nice model, great flight, funny song.

  • sugoi!

  • What a superb model, it seems to fly beautifully but must glide in on it's belly to land. The actual aircraft, one of which is in storage at the Smithsonian, didn't have that option!

  • Wow Excellent!

  • wow, that is very impressive. if you glance at the last picture, it looks like the plane is backwards. ha

  • Excellent video.

  • Great video.

  • Thanks

    IowaBattleship10

The song is "Sweet Harmony" by The Beloved

  • 100.000 views!!! Thanks all for watching.

  • Awsome! I thought the plane was fake in video games now i know japan created this cool plane! o by the way whats the song called ?

  • now I know where that 'secret plane' from Crimson Skies comes from ;) Good video!

  • Thank you for this video.

I'm a Jap guy and very glad to see a beautiful-scaled model Shinden flying.

Shinden had dynamite inside the propeller shaft.

When the pilot escapes, destroys the propeller previously.

But it is no need for a RC Shinden, haha(^^).

  • Nice plane. I always liked the J7W shinden. Though a while back I found a picture (drawing) on a now defunct website of an experimental Shinden with a Jet engine. Anyone know anything about that?

  • Ah~

    Beautiful figure ...

  • Hi Michael... Very nicely done on the model! How did you get the CG established? Trial and error on a smaller model I am supposing? It looks like it flies beautifuuly, and congratulations! I have been experimenting with canard designs for many years, but most of them use wing-tip rudders, but I can see the value of bringing them inboard, as some of my designs tried to cart-wheel/spin, because there was too much mass outboard, I suppose, forcing me to make them fairly large, etc, Nice! Stan~

  • Thanks all.

  • very beautiful model, like a static!very cool construction have brushless motor?

  • You are so GREAT!!

  • my fav plane on flight sim combat. love the plane. cool vid

  • the last survivoring plane is at stored the garber hill facilty in Washington D.C

  • Why is it THERE, in AMERICA, of all places!

  • I guess the americans brought it back with them as a "spoil of war" or something.

  • America brought a lot of Japan's best subs and planes for examination after the war.

  • Because it was aerodynamically the most advanced design produced ANYWHERE during WW2 and American engineers wanted to evaluate it..

    Great model, by the way.

  • Back engine, and fronts heavy gun, and two tail

    wings are todays A10.

this is one of the A10s ansestor.

  • a-10's foundation came from the p-47 thunderbolt, they share the same name.

  • Had description, photos, measurements of this as a kid in 1964 and it still intrigues me -wonder what ever happened to the lone survivor that our military got.Nice E-R/C :)

  • "...the son of a bitch will fly!"

  • SUPER GREAT!!

  • It is surprised at the knowledge about this airplane of yours. It is wonderful flight. It is happy as a Japanese. Thank you.

  • I don´t believe the japanese copied the XP-55 Ascender. The XP-55 wasn´t very succesful - some might even call it a failure. Hence there wouldn´t be much point in copying it.

  • Totally agree. Planes with this layout could be very unstable and difficult to control. The XP55 was awful to fly and was lost when it's pilot totally lost control.

  • then you'd be suprised by the fact that japan copied some failed american planes like the dc4-e.

  • If you check on the dates you will find that the canard gliders made to evaluate the design flew before the Ascender was built. The Shinden was a genuinely original design by a brilliant Japanese engineer which has influenced advanced aircraft design to this day.

  • どのあたりまで開発が進んでいたのですか?武装までは積んでないのかな?

  • i want to know 1 thing, was it a copied version of american xp55 ascender?

  • Thats beautiful plane,It has a awesome designed.

    nice work.

  • Very Nice

  • 震電が実戦配備されていれば、一矢報いることができたかも。

  • It´s an english group called The Beloved. The title of the song is Sweet Harmony. The original video was very nice too ;o)

  • That music is fantastic!! what is it called?!?!?!

  • Absolutely beautiful plane. Beautiful.

  • 上手ですね。sindenをあやつるとはすごい。

    sindenを知る日本人は少ないのに異国で飛んでいる。。。

    ありがとうございます。

  • The Kyushu Shiden was designed as a short-range bomber interceptor to defend the Japanese home islands. It was to be armed with four massive 30 mm cannons in the nose and would have been a formidable hit-and-run foe. The Americans were working on a similar cunard-configuration pusher design, called the Curtis XP-55. Although the Shiden was flown a few times before the end of the war, the XP-55 was cancelled in 1945, with the advent of jet aircraft.

  • The XP-55 had problems with engine cooling that Curtis never solved.

The Saab-21 was sucessfully redesigned as a jet fighter.

  • Shinden, NOT Shiden...that was a different plane GeorgePQuittlesack.

  • You are correct. I mistaknely wrote "Shiden" - but correctly described the Shinden armament and tactical application.

  • WOW!

    Beautiful.I want this one.

    Good job!

  • how Funny, your Shinden turned up, when i searched for something interesting to design and build, the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka.

And a Personal message: Vi ses på pladsen Hammer - Troels Gripping

  • Thanks all :o)

I need to find some time to install my air-up-spring-down retracts in the Shinden. Should look cool.

  • Beautiful!

  • wow! Thats nice. Too bad it never saw combat. It would have gave a big shock to the Allies.

  • Nice shots of this innovative design...must have been tricky learning to fly a cunnard...wonder if it was so for the test pilots who flew it for the first time. Must have been extremely manueverable. Hat off to you flying such a beautiful model...I'd be afraid of crashing the sucker. :-)

  • C-A-N-A-R-D. Cunard was a steamship line.

(And it is a beautiful job, Michael!)

  • Well done. I only became aware of this design today.

  • 素晴しい完成度です。

    「逆エンテ型」を見事に飛行させた

    貴殿の技に敬意を表します。

    It`s very beautiful !

  • stranger

  • I want one ,want one, want one!!!! nice 1 mate!! it looks great on the ground and awesome in the air!!

  • It is wonderful. It is good at control.

  • Thanks all. I appreciate the comments :o)

  • Beautiful plane, Michael!!! Looks like it flies superbly. Will be keeping my eye out for that Manzano kit.

  • AHA! nice! ive loved this plane ever since the days of aces of the pacific 1946 hahaha. VERY nice!

  • very cool

  • Followed the build and development of this on the ezone, fantastic bit of work and really gratifying to see it flying so well. Great effort and well rewarded, it flies superbly!

  • Cheers and you´re welcome :o) My Shinden may be available as a Short Kit from Manzano Laser Works sometime in the future. In the meantime check out my Wasp that will be available as a Full Kit from Manzano very soon.

  • wow,cool! very cool! I want one!

and you have very rare Shinden photos.

    Thank you for Uploading.

  • lol this launched and so faster! like a Missile.

  • Coool

  • Thanks!

  • Nicely done.
