  • This had to be one of my favorites in Disney.

  • that dog must be 70 yrs old

  • probably my favorite ride

  • I love this ride... It never gets old and every time I go to Disney for about the song if stuck in my head.... I love it!!!!

  • There's a great an beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of everyday !!!!!!!!!!

  • one of my favorite attractions at magic kingdom...i wanna go back!

  • Ive seen this over 50 times (At Disney) and its still so cool to watch, /i have gone on and off, half of those times I've have had my own theater!

  • is it just me or is rover the oldest dog to live?

  • this was actually one of my favorite things..just so interesting!(:

  • This song will haunt me for the next month!

  • I always found disney rides kind of creepy... so dark, and so eerily realistic animation.

  • Wasn't this the ride that that girl died in?

  • @roberaith You're probably thinking of mission space orange team at Epcot. This just rotates slowly around the stage.

  • @skimboardmonster a girl did die on a ride identical to this in Disneyland California. It was a rotating theater type show, she was standing to close to where the seats rotate and got crushed in between the seats and the stage.

  • The first and second scenes remind me of BioShock Infinite

  • @roberaith yeah me too, little did that guy realize there was a floating city in the sky...

  • this never gets old

  • I only discovered this attraction recently but its quickly become one fo my favs. I'm going back to DW in December and I'm making it my mission to show this off to my nieces and nephews

  • This is one of the most nostalgic rides at Disney World. I love it.. It comes straight out of the mind of Walt Disney, one of our greatest all-time innovators. I hope they keep this around forever

  • When I was in Disney recently, and I requested to the people I was with to see this. At the end half the people had loved it, and the other half was ready to burn me at the stake

  • @Ace4929 Some people just don't appreciate classics :P

  • I want to go back so bad!! I love this song

  • Aww I miss it! :(

  • I see the carousel in 3 days!

  • I wonder what the last scene looked like in the original 1964 attraction,

  • It's funny how the dog is still alive for over 100 years...

  • @jayzgirl1 That's 700 dog years.

  • Awww i went here not so long ago and this show has been replaying in my mind constantly! its so magical :') ITS A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROWW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY!

  • the 25 ppl who disliked this obviously have progressional problems

  • Where can your DVDs be purchased?

  • its so funny to see the old tv in the future scene. Disney is so subtle when it comes to replacing technology

  • I've watched this video probably a hundred times. This ride has been my absolute favorite since i was a little girl. So thank you so much for posting this video and allowing me to be at my favorite place anytime i wish, and getting me through the days until i return.

  • I just bawled my eyes out. Such a beautiful song. My favorite ride out of all the theme parks.

  • i have not seen that in 16 years. An unforgettable moment in my childhood.

I'm also the only one in my family who appreciated The Epcot center section of Disney World. We were going through the countries section and we only got halfway when my family got bored and wanted to leave. We ended up going back to the Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day, which was fine.

  • Thanks for posting,

    happy memories of florida

  • I love that line "No Privacy is all around this place"

  • @ru42 this is a great video, adding those videographer skills makes it look so much better. its awesome, thanks for posting

  • That dog reminds me of Sprocket from Fraggle Rock.

  • I remember this when it was in Disneyland in the 60's. Thank you for filming this!

  • @CLB270986

    You mean Sprocket.

  • thanks fo the posting do you have this and the other one with ben and clemmons

  • I miss the original Rex Allen version. This guy's singing sucks.

  • Miss it over there:'(

  • love this so much

  • "when you didn't have a CAR PHONE"

    lmfao

  • I love this show. Very few of the Disney shows and rides can equal this production. I miss this ride at Disneyland.

  • @rlee2x I agree.

  • And in the future, we will have portable devices that shoot inter-dimensional portals and combustible lemons.

  • somewere in the daughters room sence is a pic of walt disney and in the chrimas sence there are 4 hidden mickeys

  • @nitemare107 is this the 20th or 21st century now that I think about? I mean are these predictions or a timeline?

  • was anyone else snickering and vaguely creeped out by how accurate the predictions were at the very begining?

  • cave johnson!!!

wth are you doing here? and why do you sound so dull :P

  • I liked the guy until the closeup at 10:36 Those eyes, man, those eyes. ;_; Thank you for putting this video up for those of us too young to have seen it at Disneyland (and those who live too far away from Disney World, lol.)

  • Who else was here because of Zisteau????

  • looks like the dog from fraggle rock :)

  • Cave Johnson?

  • Thank you for this video, it is my favorite Disney ride!

  • RU42 THANK YOU so much. I have several of your DVD's and they're great for reliving magical moments at the parks. Love what you do!

  • @enchantedplayroom - you are very welcome!

  • I love this attraction. I never miss it. Its a Disney classic.

  • is the model city of the future still part of this?and who sponsored it...or was there a sponsor (like westinghouse?)thank you!

  • This attraction should never ever be taken away. It's so great!

  • One of my favourite videos on YouTube.

  • Here's a question......what have we done that so great since the last part of this ride? Could they eventually add another wedge to the carousel?

  • I've seen this 4 times and I'll go see it again in november :-) I went at 7, 9, 11 and 20 so most of what I saw is gone, unfortunately for my g/f who has never been there. I'm stoked to go

  • You have great videos! They really make me feel like Im at disneyworld and disneyland!

  • is this worth it for fun sekkers who want the most of there day cause im doing careful planning

  • why is the wife is doing all the work and her husband doing notthing but talking

  • @alienhddna I will explain it to you AFTER you get in the kitchen and make me a sammich!

    LOL

  • went yesterday they got a hdtv now lol.

  • @halojames1 I confirm this. I was there just 2 days ago and I loved this ride/show. :)

  • wonder why they skipped the 1930's?

  • @TristanisThyName

    Ha ha!

  • @TristanisThyName i think theywere going by 20 year differences, and it began in 1920

  • Hey man, the cold war is over and the Berlin wall fell over 20 years ago. That marxist class warfare speech is obsolte nowadays. Read, learn and update your political knowledge. Finally, visit Disney and enjoy life which is short.

  • Progress! All thanks to, slavery, child labor, exploitation of third world countries. oh, it's a great big beautiful tomorrow, who will we rape, steal from, and enslave next!?

  • @Jcolinsol bitter much? if you dont like the messages disney sends, then dont pay any mind to them, its quite simple

  • @xemmie2210x

Yes, let's just ignore the injustice and hypocrisy and it will all go away. Ha ha.

  • @Jcolinsol if it bothers you so much DO something about it rather than troll youtube and write nasty comments. I agree that Disney has some very wrong ideas and twisted messages, however, those came from Walt himself and I doubt anyone who works for the Disney Company has that kind of attitude anymore. Its difficult to change the way things are done.

  • The Closed Captioning is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this frign ride!!! and i love the theme of the music!!!

  • Tomorrow is just a dream away <3

  • Its a shame that kids' attention spans have become so short, shows like this will no longer be seen at WDW. It used to be that a kid could sit through a 15 or 20 minute show and be entertained and learn something ... but now everything has to be interactive, brightly painted cartoonish characters and given in 15 second clips before it changes. Even 10 years ago, I remember actually having to wait in line to get into this. Now it is empty each show and never any kids.

  • @Want2BeAStar2Day I agree, though my 8 year old sister loves it, and we have to ride it at least twice per visit just for her. I'm nearly a decade older than her and I remember clearly how much I loved rides like these as a kid, especially EPCOT rides. It's sad to see that this ride is nearly forgotten now.

  • @Want2BeAStar2Day I actually disagree with u...I was at Disney just two weeks ago on this very ride and had to wait almost an hour to get in (not as long as other rides) and it was packed, and there were surprisingly a lot of kids, and they all seemed very excited, and throughout the ride I heard so many kids asking their parents "Was it really like that a long time ago?". Or Maybe I just came on an odd day.

  • That's one really old dog. Rover's been around for 70 years by the last scene! lol

  • The last sean craks me

    Up

So lamo n i love how old it is ehen r tgy going to update the ride?

  • i am so excited i am going to walt disney world in sept with my son for the first time he is going to be 11. i think that he is going to love this place

  • What year was the last sean

  • @glassesgurlmusicluve It was the 90s view of what the 21st century would be like.

  • @StarnightStargazer thank u

  • The last scene needs to be upgraded again. We have bigger, better TVs now, better computers, better things than 3d goggles, better ovens, etc. They need touch screen things in there now like iPad looking things.

  • i went to disney world and i lmao at the final scene lol every time i see the scene i still laugh! X) Thanks Progress! :)

  • best part wass jean shepard i only think of christmas story when i hear him

  • The original was much better than the "politically correct" updated version!

  • @stlgtrace What changed?

  • @awallick A lot did! I saw the original in 1966! I was very little but I remember it really well. The narrator is different and not as good as Rex Allen who did it originally. They updated it in the mid-1970s and again around 1993. When the ride was concieved in the early 1960s everything was fresh, exciting and hopeful, now it's cynical, boring and pointless.

  • The Walt Disney Corporation put out a statement saying that since this was Walt Disney's favorite ride and the only remaining one in all the parks the he, himself had helped design that they had no plans on getting rid of it, and that they would continue to update it. With that being said as of the past few years they were talking about shutting it down during the off season, but as of 2011/2012 that plan has not gone in to effect. I for one hope it never does this is my all time favorite ride.

  • God I dreaded this ride as a kid in the early 80s. My parants made me go to get out of the heat and lines. This and the Hall of presidents were every kids worst nightmares....lol

  • This is one of the most underestimated rides at Walt Disney World every time i go there, theres not a big crowd there is usually only a few people in it at a time! If only people knoew what they were missing out on!

  • One of my FAVORITE Disney rides. First time I went on this was about 15 years ago. Now its apparently open only certain times of the year :/

  • 10:41 is a scary picture.

  • Didn't the dishwasher use to open in the rat race scene?

  • @desiree82880 Wow! Didn't notice that it didn't in this video! I went on this ride a few days ago and it did. It raises two red glasses. I believe the refrigerator opens too in this scene. I also notice his eyes are different. They're not so far back in his head. This video was uploaded almost 4 years ago. They probably made minor changes to the ride since then.

  • Wow!! Thank you so much for uploading this video! I just got back from Disney World this had to be one of my favorites. I gotta admit i went on this one 3 times. I just loved the ending. Also 4:15 haha It's incredible how realistic they look.

  • When I went on this ride, that song was stuck in my head for the rest of the day! :P

  • how come rover dont get older???

  • I absolutly love the carosel of progress, This is the thing I always enjoy going on when I get there, and I go on it about five times, only me and my mumlike to go on this, the rest of my family get bored stiff of it, but we dont care it's just reminds me of when I younger, we will definatly be going on this when I go this september, and probably ten times !

  • my favorite one is the last one the holiday season! :)

  • I LOVE YOU for uploading this it had great quality and is one of my favorite rides at disney world. Ive almost got it memorized!

  • I love this attraction. It should be a national landmark in my opinion. Having said that, I'd like to see it somewhat updated. This, of course, will cost more than Disney is willing to spend on an attraction like this which they have been mulling over whether or not to close for several years now.

  • @TheClownShooze I hope they don't close it. Im still mad that they moved it from Disneyland. Why couldn't they just make a clone.

  • audience is moving

  • Thank you SO much for uploading this, it was my favorite part of the summer when I would go to Magic Kingdom with my dad before school started... since his passing I keep wanting to find things that brings his memory back, and I'm definitely remembering him tonight!!! Thank you thank you thank you!

  • this is amazing thank you for uploading

  • IT'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW !

  • The floor is moving, not the stage. That's why you get off the ride in a different location than you got in :)

  • Man I remember this ride. Was one of my favorites!

  • whats the last year supposed to be? we dont even have that now.

  • @carrieslilsis It's the wild world of the future, officially billed in PR as "Christmas in the House of 2000". This was as of the reno in 1994. Some points aren't around now, but others are sort of dated, bad guesses at what'll be in the future. I think that scene needs another rewrite.

  • THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! i have been looking for a video like this for months. thanks for the upload =)

  • i remember coming here good times

  • this is the best ride

  • oh so guys mean this ride is still there at disney i think that it looked a whole lot different when i went there though in 1999

  • You can never beat animatronics EVER

  • This is my favorite Disney ride of all the four parks I've been to!

  • I love this. every time we go to Disney, me and my dad see this

  • TV changed to a Sony HD Flatscreen in 2009.

  • 25 people don't think there's a great big beautiful tomorrow.

  • thank you for posting this! I love this so much. A disney world favorite most definitely!

  • 7:48 That's what she said!

  • It would be fun to see The Carousel of Progress in person, but even better seeing it back when animatronics were state of the art.

  • It's funny...they did a pretty good job guessing what today would be like. No virtual reality games yet, or voice automated systems, but I don't see why that couldn't happen. It would be fun to see that in person.

  • When I went to this show in Disney Orlando FL., I was amazed by this show. On the other hand, the dolls were very real and therefore also scary. It could be a good scenario for a horrormovie. Almost like real looking dolls who are attacking visitors because they somehow started to be alive and are lurking for blood. Then the song would sound like this : "There is a great big beautiful tomorrow, killing all the people every day".

  • @Skaz32225 there was a horror movie like that i think.lol Or it sounded like a horror film. It was this theme park where everything was so real. You could go and pretend to be a cowboy in the old west or whatever and then all the the robots started to kill everyone.... I think it was called Westworld starring Yul Brenner.lol after watching that movie i creepy laughing lady at Kennywood seemed far more sinister.lol

  • I want to ride that now, just because Mel Blanc provided Uncle Orville's voice . x.;

  • Have they changed the last scene up in the past couple of years

  • Favorite ride in Disney !

  • that song got stuck in my head

  • 18:00 Thurl!

  • Yeah that's the future.... Someone smoking in my house....

  • oh thank u soo much 4 posting this vid!!! i am ready 2 go to disney now! PS 4 MY 5TH TIME IN A ROW!

  • this is pretty funny thanks for posting it!

  • Bless you for posting this! Always loved this ride.

  • awesome song love it rock till the end!

  • for some reason this is my favorite ride at disney

  • This is where to go when you are hot and need a nap,

  • OK, here's a question for you all. Is the stage revolving....or is the audience? Hmmm?

  • @Lydirius - The audience is the one moving.

  • @ru42 im srry not to offend u or anything but i havebeen going to disney world before i was even out of my moms tummy hahaha but the people are sitting down and the ground it revolveing not the people trust me i know i go on it every time i go to disney, i have gone to disney more than 40 times and i can name everything there but anyway the ground revolves. :)

  • @amycoy1 - I am not sure what you mean the ground revolves but not the people. If the people are sitting in chairs and the chairs are attached to the ground and the ground revolves then the people revolve. The question is which is revolving the stage or the audience. The answer is the audience is moving. The stage with the characters does not rotate. The audience rotates around the stages. (And no offense was taken)

  • @amycoy1 The Audience moves!! I have been going there since the first year!!1

  • @peachy0817 they changed it the people use to move im also talking about the one in disney world and i recently went there this year when school let out so i think i know

  • @Lydirius the audience.

  • @Lydirius you can see the audience moving from the outside...

  • @Lydirius

    It was the audience!

Hey that's Shep's voice! Flick lives you fat head!

  • @Lydirius audience.

  • @Lydirius when your sitting inside of it... the seats for the audience is revovling around the building to the other stages. now you know =D

  • @Lydirius The stage spins.

  • Who sings the very last There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow song at the very end of the ride?

  • did they really only have to talk to ovens to make them work back in the 60s or 70s? because i don't see a lot of people doing that today

  • I heard the Grandma animatronic can also be found in the Haunted Mansion. Perhaps the Carousel of Progress progressed too far?

  • Such an amazing ride, if it's ever changed my childhood will be washed down the drain with all those parts... T_T

  • I saw this yesterday and freaking loved it. Sad that it skipped 50 years ;(

  • We call it the Carousel of Passive Agression.

  • That damn dog is like 80 years old.

  • @squintydaelf I was thinking that too.

  • i remember this so well...
