I Play with manual settings, although I don't understand how some people get these amazing curve balls into the goal most of my goals are just with laces or ones that curve around the goalie on the ground. Btw Awesome music :) Arctic Monkeys
just won an online world cup using Belgium with all manual control yesterday. I was really excited but still need a lot of practice in manual control.
My first fully manual match, Arsenal 2-1 Accrington Stanley on legendary. Both the goals were free-kicks. I've got plenty to improve on, manual-wise! That said, I found it makes shooting at the near post a lot more effective!

Next time 'round it was England 2-0 Germany . 2 beatiful extra time goals 1 from lampard the other from gerrard , i felt so proud after that victory . I decided to play the Germans 1 last time . And I don't mean trough edit player because that will cost me an edit player, since EA doesn't allow unlimited player editing. Does anyone know?

I don't create many scoring chances per game but I guess I'll improve with time, I'd just like to know if someone had the same problem? Getting frustrated at bad passes but mastering manual with time? I'd just like to know if it happens to everyone or I'm just too mentally slow. :D
@Luthrus It's just a learning curve, keep at it. If you're struggling online with manual then keep trying offline for a bit. Don't get frustrated, just feel the satisfaction when you do something well. Sometimes you have good games, sometimes bad. One day I can't pass at all and the next I can play like Brazil, depends on concentration, mood, etc. It's all about you and not what the game is doing for you, that's why we love manual Fifa so much!

So when FIFA 11 comes out I will start playing it in manual and hopefully learn. The biggest reason is because the satisfaction behind every pas and every goal. If u wanna play manual online just visit the fifa 11 forums and there's people who are looking to play other ppl with manual controls just add them

I get frustrated sometimes too (also because I rarely play with 5 stars teams) but I keep trying, I scored some beautiful goals from like really impossible places but it costs me a lot to master it at times. Good thing I'm pretty good at defense, althought it's always hard against the ping pong kiddies.
@Luthrus now with fifa 11 create custom matches with manual controls only. you play against an opponent with the same destiny as you and so it gets balanced again. it just might be a bit harder to find opponents. i was super frustrated in the beginning (1 week ago) but now im getting better and better and in almost every match i figure something new out. it is so much fun to know that IF you master it, you can beat almost everyone. good luck and keep training lad
Manual controls should be compulsory in the future, it's really the only way to play. Every goal is so satisfying because it really is you who scored it, the game does virtually none of the work for you. Took me ages to get used to, but now I can win manually on legendary. I never want to go back to assisted again =)
These goals were a mix of Semi-Pro, Pro and a couple on World Class. I'm currently putting together a video of Full Manual goals for EAs Fifa World Cup 2010 game and all goals will be on World Class or Legendary. Scored some absolute crackers!

Manual is essentially the way the game designers think Fifa should be played. It puts so much more control at your fingertips than the robotic and fake assisted controls. You can do so much with manual that assisted can't even comprehend. What I hate is that the maker of this video has used a bunch of clips where he's clearly playing against a novice setting. Manual against Pro setting is the one. Awesome passing and flowing football HAS to be played to win.
A couple of clips are on semi-pro, most on pro and a couple on world class. Considering these were all from the Fifa10 demo and I'd never used manual before Fifa10 I'd say they're pretty good. Now I play with full manual controls against World Class most of the time and occasionally on Legendary.

Manual controls are awesome. I just picked up this game last week, and started to use manual controls. Played a guy this morning (he was using Juventus) and I was using Bray Wanderers. I managed to tie him 1-1. It was one of the better online sports experiences I have ever had.

This is the problem. Assisted players would rather die than lose. Manual players care less about winning, and more about just having a good, realistic game of football. Manual controls is the only way to acheive this.

I had one the other other day where I was a 3.5* team, the opponent switched his 5* team to Real Madrid with something like a 3-2-5 formation and he quit after 75 mins when 2-0 down, lol.

R1/RB does side-footed passes and crosses which puts some curl on the ball yeah. I do most of my crosses this way which bends the ball away from the keeper or bends it towards the back post depending which foot your using.

you must be playing on beginner..look at the defender infront of you at 1:15..no way would he do that from semi pro upwards..he just stands there and lets u go past.
Start of by just aiming towards the goal, don't try to choose a corner just get your shots on target, aim dead centre.
Once you get the hang of hitting the target you can try adjusting your aim slightly, by slightly I mean millimeters on the left stick, with 360 control it really is that sensitive.

Dude, playing with fully manual controls really does.
Its impossible to overstate how good FIFA10 is on full manual control. Difficult as hell, but thats kinda the point.
It has rendered everything else, including FIFA assisted, obsolete.
