When aircraft stripper becomes about 1/5 the price, people will use it. For now, a 4.5" grinder with cup brushes typically works amazingly well for these types of parts. I guess some people would rather spray chemicals all over their garage than pick pieces of steel wire out of their belly,but you still have to get the part clean afterwards, and stripper just makes more work at that point IMO.

We have a similar stuff in the UK except it's a gel, not a spray. It's called Nitromors and it eats ANY finish off pretty quickly. I think methanol is the active ingredient.

Yeah dont get that stuff on your finger nails either . it will eat them off . Also Oven cleaner will do the same thing . I use it when I strip a tractor down buy 3 or 4 cans of cheap oven cleaner and it does the trick but this stuff works much faster.

I stripped a whole car (68 dodge Coronet) using the gel type. Only took 2 gallons. Make sure you wash it down with vingar and water solution with steel wool afterwards. If you don't the new paint will peal.

you will have to rinse and maybe respray some of the hard stuck on paint. This stuff does work great though. You might have to do some light scrubbing to get some paint off though.

You can also buy that stuff in gallon cans, but if you do be sure to keep it capped tightly, and also use it up in short order. If you leave it sit, it'll eat right through the galvanized steel of the can. I had a can of it a few years old, went to grab it here a month or so ago, and squeezed right through it.

i used this for my whole car but in an industrial size gel container that u apply with a paint brush. great stuff but a pain in the ass in small crevices. after i scraped it off i used a wire wheel to get it all cleaned up. also to instantly neutralize this stuff encase u get it on skin is spray water on it. i always keep a spray bottle with cool water handy.
