@HarryLiddle.. yes you can use it with your mac for record with garage band or logic studio if you want.. you can use a mixer and connect with the line in.. or use as a midi controller using the usb cable...

@belepele The YAMAHA by leaps and bounds. I play out in a band and I only use Yamaha, Roland & Korg. Stick to those and you will always be happy.

The software  come with is not suitable for mac, but some people was able to use on a mac, check the yamaha board for that

If this will be your first keyboard, buy the E423. It is PHENOMENAL for about $200! You won't find a Roland Anything for 4X the price.

I own several synth and classic keyboards, but sometimes I'll gig with just my Nord Electro and my E403 (predecessor to E423) We just played a houseparty and all I took was took was the little Yamaha. It's light,and that good!

@MyAitch the 423 is better because you can add song from your PC and I don't believe you can with the 295, if you are able to do that, save your money and if you still like to play in a year or so go with the Yamaha motif

I have the same model as yours, but recently the piano's notes become distorted. I think its because i turned the live control knob but when i turned it back to normal, the notes are still distorted. I tried to reset everything back to normal, but i cant find what wrong. Do you have any idea?

There is 2 way to restore the keyboard, try both ways, if that don't work, call Yamaha A.S.A.P. may be still on guarantee terms..

Beautiful, and thanks for posting this video!! Has nice sounds, not as top-notch as the tyros but still is good. Too bad that these 'beginner' type keyboards have pitch bender but without modulation control as the tyros, my Roland E-500 and most professional type keyboards have. Your psr- e423 keyboard's look is very nice, good luck and nice vid!!

@stereobrowser the tyros, roland and the motif are all professional keyboards, this one it's'more of a mid entry level keyboard, a good one but still a 250 $

I'm more of ableton user than a keyboard player, but his one is pure fun and a good value for the price..

You can look at videos of the PSR E413, it is the previous model and very close to this one, the 423 has more voices and is an improved version. So if you think the 413 looks nice, this model is a little better.
