The Tea Party will leave an area they demonstrate at in better shape than when they got there. The person who filmed this is at fault. They don't understand the constitution or the idea of personal privacy. Yes when on public property, you have the right to film people but not if you are personally engaging with whoever your filming. For example, if you film people on the street just walking or doing whatever, you have that right but you don't have the right to film someone and engage them with it without their consent or permission.

First there is no context in this video before or after the 52 seconds. Second this is in absolutely no way representative of most who occupy and is an obvious attempt to discredit everyone involved by painting them with the same brush. Third this woman is an obvious example of what happens at a lot of the camps as mentally ill people show up for free resources (and have nothing to do with the protest themselves). As a participant in the Occupy movement and an Occupier, I feel ashamed of the behavior showed by the people being filmed here. That they would behave in such a childish way is only a symptom of the messed up society we live in. So don't blame the movement, incidents like this are bound to happen because we don't "select" who can participate, anyone can choose to come and occupy and many times its even people without a place to live who might have mental issues and don't even care for the cause.

Yes when on public property, you have the right to film people but not if you are personally engaging with whoever your filming. For example, if you film people on the street just walking or doing whatever, you have that right but you don't have the right to film someone and engage them with it without their consent or permission.

First there is no context in this video before or after the 52 seconds. Second this is in absolutely no way representative of most who occupy and is an obvious attempt to discredit everyone involved by painting them with the same brush. Third this woman is an obvious example of what happens at a lot of the camps as mentally ill people show up for free resources (and have nothing to do with the protest themselves). It is a symptom of cuts that have left them nowhere to go for proper care.

That they would behave in such a childish way is only a symptom of the messed up society we live in. So don't blame the movement, incidents like this are bound to happen because we don't "select" who can participate, anyone can choose to come and occupy and many times its even people without a place to live who might have mental issues and don't even care for the cause.

@BacktoAmerica I believe that you are being uncivil and violating the 1st Amendment's guarantee of free speech. Do you not remember Texas v. Johnson in 1989, where the majority opinion stated that flag burning was permissible and established a lasting principle: "Government may not prohibit expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable"? Basically it means that just because you don't like an idea, it doesn't mean someone can't say it

If they really wanted change they would join up with the Occupy Movement. But, they won't because the monied interests direct the Tea Party like they are sheep.

This is drive by journalism. We have no idea of the context of what happened. That camera guy could've cussed them up one side and down the other and threatened to have them locked up and all kinds of other crap and then filmed just the reaction. This video is worthless.

@rigatony019 You say that it is legal to film people without their knowledge. Lawyers.com confirms that: "Generally, it's perfectly legal to videotape or photograph any person and anything while on public property." Just because they could do it doesn't mean the occupiers should be videotaped. If they occupiers felt it was a privacy invasion, it is their right to stop the filming.

If you're out in public, we can film you as much as we want. If you put your hands on someone else's camera, expect a beatdown. We had a guy waltz in with a 1% sign and he got a lot of dissent. That initial reaction is reasonable; If were to walk into a pro-life rally with a sign that was pro-choice, or vice versa, you are going to get a lot of hatred.
When the man began to speak, I listened and despite my distrust of implementing flat taxes, which I voiced, his position was very reasonable.
I have had non-protesters be very nasty to me.based on what they believe I believe, rather than on what I believe.

Richmond Teabaggers met with OWS to discuss common interests. Seems TPers have more in common with OWS than they have with FOX, the Koch brothers and BillO (who attacked an OWS with an umbrella). The "occupiers" are at best mentally ill panhandlers, at worst criminals, thugs, rapists and sex perverts. They have shown to us all the oppositte of what the Tea Party stands for: self reliance, followers of the Constitution, clean up after themselves, law abiders, pay their own way, and non-violent. These occupiers should be washed away with the garbage they left behing into the sewers and flushed into a septic tank where they can all live and die happily with the rats, maggots and feces.
