Why was the decision made to go with the t62 tank? It had several major design faults and the reason it was made (To mount a bigger gun) was rendered moot by better ammunition for the existing t54. Why not have the T-64 as the m60's competitor?

Don't take this as whining by the way (I'm just curious) I love tank simulators and both Tiger v T34 and Balkans on fire were great, and I'll definitely be playing this one as soon as I can.

@HyperU2 Every T-72 would chew up any M60 there is, Please google a bit and compare their specs. Furthermore, M60's never saw any T-72 in combat. Ever. Last, but not least, T-64 isn't a predecessor of T-72. On the contrary, T-72 was developed as a 'numbers' tank to complement highly sophisticated and expensive T-64.

Next time, at least have *some* general idea what you're talking about, before posting bull***t. Please.

@HyperU2 Those weren't T-72's, those were monkey export models. They had 70'es-era sabot rounds, had thinner non-composite steel armor and primitive FCS. Plus three untrained desert peasants in each tank. I'd imagine marine tankers to be much much better trained than an average Arab. Don't you agree?

@HyperU2 Crew is not an integral part of a tank per-se. I was talking about pure technical characteristics here, and I think you know that, but you chose to by-pass the arguments by introducing another dimension of discussion (the crew).

You see, as you clearly stated yourself, M60 isn't superior to T-72 (or T-64) judging by pure technical characteristics. And we *were* discussion technical side of things.

@vukashin88 Besides that, crew training cant really be logically 'quantified', so it will always be a moot point in discussions. Every side of the discussion can claim to have better crews. Why? Because you can't really determine how good exactly is a 'excellent trained crew', dont you? But what you *can* determine is what's the mobility of a vehicle, armor thickness etc etc.

looks excellent. the dust kickup effect when you fire the man gun needs work. maybe use a particle system instead of sprite. it should be fairly localized.

needs multi core support also, if that is not implemented yet. 4 cores calculate large battles more efficiently.

@Daxter609 To me it will be, but it depends on what you're looking for. The only thing this game and WoT have in common is that they both have tanks in the game. The stats and realism are vastly different in this; less arcade and more actual sim.

I played T72: Balkans in Fire and Steel Fury: Kharkov1942. Great games! Only problem is lack of missions. I hope this game had more campaign missions then others.

Probably not. Graviteam already did the T-72 in a previous game and I heard that any additional Steel Armor vehicles, if done in an addon would be more Cold War proxy warriors like the T-55 and Centurion.

It's a tank simulator where you operate one of the stations in a tank (while AI crew others). I think it is single player for the moment. My guess is that it will use AI from Kharkov 1943 RTS game - which means smarter group tactics.

Kharkov 1942 (their last tank sim) had some extremely dramatic and immersive moments

Little things like only being able to move the gun up or sideways at a given time (having to switch which wheel your operating) start irritating and become neat.
