It is indeed my favorite fight scene from the movie. Even if it's not a great movie but thx to Mortal Kombat Annihilation, it makes it good. It is too bad that Reptile doesn't use his Acid Spit ability nor invisibility. But at least we had the Bicycle kick as a finale. =D

Yeah he did man. Johnny Cage defeated Goro, the champion for 9 tournaments. So the next in line was Goro's master, Shang Tsung, and then Liu refused for Shang Tsung to go against Johnny, because Liu wanted revenge, making Liu Kang the champion of Mortal Kombat.

By defeating Shang Tsung, that just made Liu Kang the new tournament master, Tsung's title. Johnny Cage defeated Goro, the actual champion, which by the rules of Mortal Kombat made him the champion. They just said Liu Kang 'won', because they figured to many fans would've been pissed off if he hadn't. Course if they were afraid of that, they could based the whole damn thing Mortal Kombat, instead trying to combine Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat as well as addding in their stupid ideas.

Johnny had to fight Shang Tsung to win the tournament, and if you remember, Shang Tsung challenges Johnny. But Liu then refuses, wanting revenge. He wins, making him the champion/master whatever you'd like.

Actually, Shang Tsung chose to fight, just to prolong the tournament, it is not a requirement to fight a tournament master to win. But I guess it does make Liu superior in a way. Awkwardly this could be compared to boxing. Johnny Cage fought the regining champion while Liu fought I guess either the annoucer or the champion's trainner.

Shang Tsung could be viewed as the annoucer (which in the first one he was) or Goro's manager(which was what I ment below, not trainner). But I'll admit the fights and cast were pretty good. Except the Goro fight, that was not really all that satisfying.
