It wasn't solely Cromwell, you realize for this massive coup to have happened, although the puritans were a minorty, there still had to be widespread approval. i am only 9 years old and am a big morrissey fan my uncles and aunts are also morrissey fans and are proud to say it because he is a great artist and cant wait to go to his concert in 22 days. have a great tour morrissey and remember i am a big fan.

@Sportymike I'm glad you picked up on that emphasis. Exactly right! Do the Welsh, Northern Irish or Scottish consider themselves British? Never! They spit upon anything remotely linked to the English, so why should we print our damn nationality on every form as British? We are English, everybody hates us with passion, but that's just the way it is.

@ultanbeare I actually did not realise this true meaning. I have a lot of time and respect for the Irish and their amazing culture, so I assure you I'm not proud of what the English did to your people. I was referring more to today's society where the English have a very ugly reputation around the world, and it is sad because a lot of us are decent people, but we are tainted by the image of the scummy youths. It makes me feel proudly patriotic to see somebody speaking out against this.
