@daniel213141 To me it sounds like Hagar wrote the stupid lyric part and then Satriani wrote the interesting guitar licks. It might work better if Satriani wrote the entire music bed, and then Hagar wrote lyrics, with someone vetoing the adolescent stuff.

Fact is, songwriting is not a science, although it can be treated as one. Some great bands, like Zeppelin, collaborate, and other greats write both the music and the lyrics. The song sounds modern, but it's disjointed.
