I know, but I think Kate Bush played a pretty unique role, especially in terms of her mix of different dancing(I think she was one of the first, if not the first, to incorporate a wireless headset so she could sing and dance freely), her combination of electronic and traditional instruments, and her willingness to be nerdy(I am pretty nerdy myself, big shock) and funny in her lyrics. I can't think of any other female performer at that time who better countered Madonna.

Hi, you're right. She has spent alot of time concentrating on her voice and its precision. Also, I think its partly her father's background and those days of TV when people bothered to speak well.

I love how "real" she always is and down to earth - that's her most attractive feature.

Well, that decision should have taken about - what - three seconds? She certainly is in Rowan Atkinson's words the personification of Venus. That first glance she gives Desmond after being seated is devastatingly sensual and beautiful. She also has a down-to-earth beauty of the soul. This is expressed in her songs and dance in equally sensuous and haunting (I think that's the word he is searching for) vocals and movements. She is totally unique, compelling, and captivating.

Strange Observation..

If you compare Kate with Madonna .. & I DON'T mean music styles or talent etc..

I'm referring to the fact that we Associate Kate from a previous Pop Era, the late 70's, because she started younger ...

Madonna is very much an 80's Icon etc.
