Anna Pavlova Performs 'The Dying Swan' (1925)

This film was made at the United Artists film studio in Hollywood at the request of Mary Pickford whom Pavlova was visiting at the time. Pickford of course was a co-owner of United Artists.

I seem to remember that the complete film in very good quality was included in the PBS series "The Magic of Dance", hosted by Margot Fonteyn. Unfortunately, this series seems to be completely unavailable today and hasn't been seen in years. I don't know if it was ever issued on home video.

hi markhh - thanks for sharing that. yes, i remember seeing 'the magic of dance' with margot fonteyn - a bbc series in 1979 - i've tried so many times to find a copy on eBay and elsewhere ... sadly, no success :<<<. curious because money would be made if it were re-released. cheers
