Both their band sites and their wikipedia articles list their band members by name, state their histories, what songs they have recorded, etc. None of their members are the same people. If they were the same band (re-formed), then they would have shared at least one band member, which they don't, so they are different bands. And lots of bands have similar sounds, it happens a lot within a genre of music. And it's Nine Days that did the album & music video, not 3 Doors Down
