I shoot these slugs out of my rem 870 . They are wonderful. I tried just about ever sabot out there and nothing compares to these. I shoot a 2 1/2" group at 100 yds. I also took a buck in ohio last year at 187yds and it preformed great, I am very impressed with these and suggest you try them if you never have.
would anybody reccomend using these in my mossberg 500 12ga 3" mag for deer hunting, I'm gonna use a fully rifled barrel and a shotgun scope. does anybody know anything bout the recoil? like is it about the same as a normal 3" slug?
@drewnickel i went goose hunting with a 3in shell and couldn't tell a difference from a 2 3/4 shell. You won't notice it if your dialed in on the deer. I realize that shells and slugs are different , but you probably wont notice the recoil from the two shells.
@drewnickel oh ok. i have a mossberg 500a and want to get a thicker barrel like on the 590a1 and maybe send it to vang comp and get it perfected for 00 buck
@ecollins92 yeh, but the boards not meant to show power, my slingshot could go through it, the ballistics gel shows how much damage it causes when it hits it's mark
these are some serious slugs, i killed four deer this season with them. one was at 100yrds. all of them left great blood trails and didn't make me walk very far.
Can you shoot those slugs out of shotguns with rifled and smoothbore barrels?

cool, now you guys made the perfect sabot slug. Now, can you guys make a better rifled slug? Those remington sluggers suck.

@a2redneck Did i say they were the best. no i said they were quite nice. I have dropped many deer with them and they are very dependable.

@Holio69 different slugs work best in different guns, but still Remingtion could still improve on the old 'pumpkin ball'

2" groups at 100???? out of what barrel??

these slugs only have 95% weight retention because the 5% that's lost is the plastic tip. otherwise these slugs would have 100% retention.

@Schwarz2448 I do when target shooting, but hopefully not when I go hunting

@drewnickel sabot slugs can jack up your barrel. you need a rifled barrel i think for sabot rounds
garrettzkool63 10 months ago
@garrettzkool63 I know they do with heavy choke barrels like full or turkey, but it works fine with my modified choke barrel or a cylinder bore

i feel like any size round would put tht nail through a thin peice of ply wood
ecollins92 1 year ago
@ecollins92 definitely. the problem is accuracy, not power.

@CyrusLake gotcha
ecollins92 1 year ago
@ecollins92 that's not very thin plywood, and also, it's showing accuracy not power, the ballistics gel test is showing power
drewnickel 1 year ago
@drewnickel i got the accuracy part and thin ply wood or not most rounds would go through it
ecollins92 1 year ago

@drewnickel yea but in the other comment you implied that the sabot was doing something special by going through the wood
ecollins92 1 year ago
@ecollins92 I said it's not VERY thin, it's thin but it's not like cardboard.
