I had a question...your other Apollo 16 video has an inconsistency with this one. 36 seconds into the launch occurs noticeably before the rocket has even reached the clouds, however, on your NBC video of Apollo 16, the rocket clears the tower much faster and also passes through the clouds right as the 36 second mark is being made. I love both videos, I'm just asking which would you think is the most accurate in terms of the picture coinciding with the announcements? Thanks.
Hi Jet - This video is a union of the original nasa footage of the launch and audio of the event. The audio didnt quite match the video. It seems much faster than it should be (if I play the audio at the moment of launch the " tower clear" call comes way too early!). The NBC video is as it was seen on the day and gives a truer reflection of what the launch looked like on the day itself. I hope this explains the discrepancy you saw and I hope it doesnt spoil your viewing of both videos - LM5
@lunarmodule5 Yes it does, thanks for taking the time to respond. The Saturn V is in my opinion the most impressive invention achieved by mankind even to this date. No other vehicle has taken humans beyond earth orbit and to other spheres of matter even to this day. 1968 through 1972 was indeed a time to be alive...we introduced both the largest space vehicle ever to take flight and for 40 years the largest commercial airliner ever built, the 747.
I saw the Saturn V, Apollo 16 take off when I was eleven years old from I-95 in Florida. We heard the pending launch on the radio, my Dad pulled over on the highway and off it went, just spectauclar!!! It was the coolest thing ever!!!
God... I wish I was the CMP in that flight!

What a rocket. The space shuttle doesn't even come close to reaching the impressiveness of the Saturn V!
