  • mix bit of Mirror's edge and Portal. Then, put some Ghost in the Shell as spices. This song kinda gives me sad feelings(probably because movie just ended... I didnt want it to end jst like a dream) I also feel so adventurous and happy. so dreamy....

  • Wow I never knew that the Vocaloid Lola could have such a pretty voice like this and the music is great, too!

  • this is just fitting for a movie like paprika

  • I like it LOT It's like a Future song It will be hit music in future

  • regardless of how you see it, this song has techno influences.

  • So who is the singer for this song?

  • @Kimilouluvspie It's the vocaloid named Lola

  • Susumu Hirasawa remixes a lot of his own tracks to for the movies scores he's done. Listen to his song "Rubedo" and especially listen to the child background vocals in the song, then listen to the song "Run" from the movie Millennium Actress.

    Should sound familiar. ;D

  • do anyone know where i get the real ending credit song? because in the movie there is singing a man with her together.

  • @TitanenTobi i downloaded it from a website .. its called Byakko no (paprika version)

if you want it just pm me and ill upload it on megaupload or something! =]

  • This music make me feels high.

  • When the hell did youtube become a place to discuss the finer points of music?

  • there's a lot of pretentiousness in the comments here. you have to earn recognition, and you're not good just because people don't 'get' you. i write short stories, but as far as i know they're shitty stories. and rather than complain about people not 'getting' the stories, i just write more and enjoy myself. people who like to play the part of the tortured artist piss me off sometimes. i'm not trolling or trying to start a fight or anything, to each his own.

  • i heart paprika

  • @HumansHaveFailed Yeah, some of the greatest albums I've ever heard have been in print for maybe 1000 copies and no more. I myself am a dishwasher, and can hardly afford my shitty apartment let alone make my own music which is a dream of mine too. I'm also a painter, but haven't sold a painting in 4 years because nobody 'gets' my work.

  • @KingOfUm I understand you...im a writer...and also nobody "gets" my work...it is because in mexico, we artists like me, are not apreciated..I wish I could live somewhere else where art is apreciated...but, despite of that i keep wrting my poetry and i will spread my message even if the society wont listen, keep working, the world need persons like you and me, and everybody who has more than the mere thinking of living normally

  • @Nearkillkira I do a lot of writing too, I even published a book but the publisher cheated me out of royalties; I understand perfectly what you mean, artists like us are just don't fit in with the rest of society, but it's great that you keep confidence in yourself despite hard times, and remain true to your vision, because the moment an artist 'dumbs' their work down to appeal to a larger audience they instantly don't deserve artistic credibility, I think.

  • @KingOfUm yes, those kind of "artists" are just for the old mexican proverb in the high spheres of power "al pueblo pan y circo" like most of the artist in the world, they just entretein people, but, well despite of being only 18, I myself belong to the small "society" of true artists here in my little town devastated because of the war, and because of that nobody cares about art anymore, but my group and I will keep fighting, also in my free time, I do some acting, we have to keep fighting!

  • im glad to see someone with the same view as me. its such a beautiful song too. something that opened a new way of thinking for me. not many people out there can really appreciate art such as this. thats how it is where i live. even if i show them this they will be all like. "oh yeah, whatever". then they go back to listening to their ugly new age pop. people from other countries dream of living in usa, maybe because we have higher standard of living, but i tell you it is not worth living here.

  • @paradisland7 It really is difficult to find fellow people who find similar views in the likes of art, but makes meeting other people who can appreciate art is all the more worth it.

  • I needed this.

  • this makes me wanna go eat butterflies, why? Just because.

  • I prefer this (film and soundtrack) to Hans Zimmer's bombastic score for Inception.

  • I swear, when I dream, no matter how weird it gets, this song matches perfectly haha

  • i bet you he is showing the angels in heaven how to sing the right way

  • @sonicsprinter Susumu Hirasawa isn't dead. Satoshi Kon, the director of Paprika, died due to pancreatic cancer.

  • I dunno why, but this song makes me feel sad, happy and nostalgic at the same time...

  • His music is the best.... Damn the US music industry for putting out even more garbage that sounds the same. I want music like this that lifts one up and inspires one to go beyond there self inflicted borders. Wish I could bring this genius here so that the people could learn what real talent is.

  • @Paorth46 You can't just blame the industry, you have to put appropriate shares of blame on the right crowds: 30% for the shitty no talent musicians who think to make a few bucks for songs that aren't worth hearing; 30% for the industry that promotes the garbage like a forest fire; and 40% for all the morons who don't know what true musical artistry is.

  • whats the name of this song? 'Paprika'?

  • it's like going to another dimention

  • A shame satoshi died ):

  • why not compare it to techno? this is some fucking AWESOME techno!

  • creepy picture is creepy

  • This guys definately knows his psychology. Really, don't underestimate an artists, for he has a reason for it's sound. It's basically the beauty of the impulsive brain, which works better than ANY computer. Actually, it creates more impulses in a day than any phoneline in the world!

  • This man is amazing!

  • OH MY GOD I have been looking for this song for years now... i found the Ggirl in Byakkoya version but this is the one I wanted! thank you so so much...

  • The percussion is so good in his tracks. That snare just drives the music forward with such energy. The pattern is mostly simple but it also has this depth I can't quite place (besides the additional orchestral drums near the end). Dynamics, I think it's called.

  • I just can't explain what kind of effect this song has on me ... thank you HIrasawa for coming up with this.

  • Susumu hirasawa is a MUSICAL GENIUS!!!!

i love his works, especialy in Paprika! 8D

  • i luv how sounds meiko in this x) aaah this song makes me Happy ♥♥♥♥♥

  • I liked the song from the first time I heard it, during the opening credits of Paprika. Fantastic movie by the way.

  • beautiful song

  • This is a great song for imagining stuff!

  • agreed!

  • ah ^^

  • This music is "Mediational Field ".

  • what song is this called?

  • thanks

  • this song is called "the girl in byakkoya"

  • Thanks. I found that out awhile ago, but thankyou :)

  • Comment removed

  • I like the version Girl in Byakkoya the best. I don't know why though :P

  • @EverlastingRain55 agreed. Although this rocks too.

  • @artgrl26 Definitely. :)

  • I remember i got so depressed I went hunting for this song. Listen to it. And I am now strangely happy and optimistic. This song is wild. And don't dare compare it to crap techno or night club music. I dont see Hirasawa's music like that.

  • i know what you mean !! when me and my ex broke up and when i felt sad i heard this song and it gave me hope cuz it such a happy song

  • can some1 pleas send me this effing epicly awesome songgg jus PM me somehow

  • @Hellrazor9876 you can google "youtube to mp3" andconvert it that way. the first search result is the one you need, you can convert it in your browser (so no installation). the sound quality might be a bit lower, but you'll have the song. as far as i know it's safe, i've used it numerous times and haven't had a virus so far.

  • @WallyWadeMovies I agree with you 101%, in fact just thumbs up was not enough for me. ALmost envy you for not being me that posted this comment. This song is "souliiftig". Forgive my english.

  • @WallyWadeMovies Okay, firstly I'd like to say I agree with you that it's a very good piece of music- it's well written, the way its instrumentals are awesome, and it's got a really cool, wierd upbeat vibe. But I don't think it's fair to say it's not like techno or nightclub music (considering rave, house and electro), It's electronic music, after all, and thus produced using many of the same techniques. Don't be unfair, man.

  • @rogaldorn3 I guess i was misinterpreted, i never meant to say that techno is crap, i was referring to "crap techno." I'm from the 90's so i like to say that i was there when the techno/rave scene came up, which would explain why i like this track alot I cant say that i like alot of what i am listening to at the moment. It seems that rap and techno stopped being rap and techno and fused together to make some god awful music. Even Hans Zimmer uses techno in his music scores.

  • @WallyWadeMovies Genre: Hirasawa

  • @WallyWadeMovies Dude, this music is techno and nightclub music, face it. That's okay, because how good something is isn't defined by it's genre.

  • @Magikawp Just read a reply where i explain what i meant.

  • @WallyWadeMovies this is a crap to begin with...why would we compare it...

  • @plonkies I dont know. I just like it. I guess the closest i can compare this too would be to some peter gabriel song. But i associate it to the strangeness of sound. There are songs from gorillaz or daft punk that put me in a good mood, and its mostly about the sound

  • when i was stoned loved this with my buddies and i still love it when im sober

  • i wish i can do what Paprika can :)

  • dont we all?

  • No kidding, that'd be amazing.

  • Haha, soo cool.

  • I could not live in a world that did not have at least one of the three versions of this theme in existence! Susumu has made it impossible for a day to go by without me listining to this, The Girl in Byakkoya, or the calmer one! GAH I LOVE IT!

  • I love this song! It's weird in a good, original way. :)

  • this song too good!!!! the beat is so strange it like it been mix from every beat from every country! I love it

  • Susumu Hirasawa is just TOO awesome.

  • so good

  • i just love this!... its kinda weird :D but i love the Kaito version too .3

  • actually i think this one is the remix....and kaito is the original...not sure though...

  • :DD word paprika means in czech language pepper - that vegetable :-P

  • swedish too.

  • in german too :D it's kinda weird

  • This song is "Mediational Field". (媒介野 - Baikaiya)

  • So catchy..!!Nice piece of art!!

  • OMG I can't stop listening to this!!! I always think of the impossible when I listen to this

  • this movie will give you a good trip !!!!

  • this movie is incredibly mind blowing. All of the music I listen to every chance I get.

  • excelente aporte

  • not really into this kind of music, but I like this song and the movie is masterpiece.

  • Not into it? Use you imagination, you'll come up with something ;)

  • Hey you can't blame someone for not enjoying a style of music, taste is subjective.

  • where can i find a free download link for this song CUZ I LUV DIS SONG ND I NEED TO FIND IT TO PUT IT ON MI IPOD SO PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP MI OUT!!!

  • This is like a passport to another realm.

  • I love that movie and this song :D

  • I would seriously consider this song and others from Paprika the soundtrack of all dreams and the unthinkable :D

    Purely amazing

  • I LOVE this song!!! I always watch the whole credits of the movie just to hear the song XD

  • Funny thing...if you check around Youtube for the Paprika opening credit sequence, you'll find at least three different versions...each with small differences at certain moments, such as a character's shirt being a different color, a billboard on a skyscraper having text on it in one version but not another, a sound effect difference, etc. I'm just wondering how that came to be, you know?

  • man i saw that and thought i was tripping. Maybe they are different versions of the film like the american vs Japanese version.

  • This song makes me feel like I'm flying~

  • Same with me. It brings about a few different feelings for me, but flying is definitely a top. The next would be what I hope it'll be like whenever I see my life flash before my eyes. Lastly, a fast-forwarded version of the Big Bang through the formation and evolution of the Earth to present day. :) No matter what it brings to mind for people, there's no question that this song is just...amazing.

  • After watching this movie. I instantly fell in love with it! This is definitely already a Modern Classic in my opinion-every anime fan must watch this movie at once. It is an instant Classic. one of the best movies. Another is tokyo Godfathers-another instant classic. this is the movie intro version right? there is at least 2 versions of this song i notice. Not the pint but still a Extremely Weel Done Movie. Definite must Watch.

  • I don't think every anime fan should watch it; anyone who likes movies period should watch it! :-D

  • True Dat! True Dat!

  • Now, the author of this song clearly know the secret of what dreams are made of.

  • Fantastic.

  • i love this song so much

  • Una pasada de pelicula ^ ^!

  • Such a nice song.

    Absolutely love it.

and the movie was also great *~*

  • The more I listen to the 'Paprika' music th more I love it! I think I consider it one of my all-time favourite film scores!

  • i never saw Paprika i when see it on my reccomended for you list and i clicked it and i feel in love with it please tell me where the op can be found thank you^^

  • If such a devise was made maybe we could really understand who we are as persons, and solving the true mistery about human kind.. if we do have a soul or not.. Dreams are the shape of the feeling of our souls

  • What a lovely way of puttting it. ^___^

  • GREEEEEEEEEEEEEAT

  • does anybody kwnow whats paprika girl in ..? all about?

    just asking...

  • Didn't really get ur question, but Paprika is a dream character in a movie with the same name (anime), if that was what you were wondering about. x)

  • Paprika is really hard to explain you really have to see it. It's about a group of scientists who have a device that allows them to enter peoples dreams stolen and the results of the thieves misuse of it.

  • what song is this called? There's 2 names that people mentioned.

  • The song is called Nigeru Mono by Hirasawa Susumu

  • Another work of genius and beauty from an extremely talented man.

  • This song is "Baikaino" Paprika" original soundtrack #2

  • when i hear this song i got the feeling that i wanna start running, and i dont care where i end up :D

  • This song is "The Girl from Byakkoya" by Susumu Hirasawa. I have Ares and I downloaded it :D

  • Acutally no,

The Girl in Byakkoya - White Tiger Field

    is a differant song.

  • "The Girl from Byakkoya" is slightly different, as it has vocals and a guitar intro.

  • Exactly.

  • anyone out there no a place to download this song, i cant find any site with it... and no i dont wanna pay.

  • yeah it would, it probably would give people seizures from all the colors but it would be worth it. lol

  • No, it would be better is Kenji Kawai :p

  • Reminds me of a kalideoscope

    PAPRIKA IS AWEOME!!!!

  • Explosion of joy, feelings and fantasy. A little door to the future and hope.

  • The soundtrack has an affinity for bringing together followers of the psychedelic, avant-garde, and even art house films. Because it blends and twists itself around many harmonics that make different ideas come to mind. It's like you're having one hell of a dream that you just cannot awake from; yet you don't want to, and even after you do, it stays with you.

  • This is a good song for a confusing yet well made movie. :)

  • I like this and the Vocaloid version!

  • Afrodisiaca melodia..espansione dei sensi..perdizione mentale in un sogno lucido.

  • You said a mouthful, baby!

  • i watched the movie Paprika and discovered Susumu Hirasawa there, and since then i can't stop listening to his music, this man is a master mind when it comes to music!!

  • I've already heard that song from a Embed video on a site, then when I watched Paprika, I was like OMG! It's that awesome song! Yeah, I had to watch the movie BECAUSE of this song... I didn't remember it until I hear the song.

Still awesome song, the music video is awesome too!

  • This song is awesome and the film rocks!!!

  • Love all of Satoshi Kon's work... he really is an auteur with substance... his work is unique and deep. Love this music as well! Hurrah!

  • tttthhhhhxxxxx ^^

  • Just watched this movie last night for the very first time and when i heard the music i immediately had to get it. So now I own the OST. "Men... Women and a little PAPRIKA!"

  • buenaso

  • Awesome song, perfect for the movie. Susumu Hirasawa kicks ass.

  • Masterpiece. Very emotional

  • This song always makes me happy.^_^

  • smashing song!!!!!!!!!!

  • once in a while, along comes a movie that is not only beautiful, but is also full of things that you deeply believe. thank you planet Japan for the nice gift and the perfect music that is inside it

PS: i had to extract the mp3 from this movie, i didn't find this version anywhere on the internets

  • Hayao Miyazaki is GOD!

  • i just thought i would say that even though he didn't make PAPRIKA...which is still a great movie......

  • lol. They're both great.

  • Hayao Miyzaki and Satoshi Kon should team up and make a movie

And of course have a Susumu Hirasawa soundtrack

    wouldn't that be awesome?

  • The did! The made a movie called "Millenium Actress" It was one of the best movies I ever saw. You should really check it out sometime ^w^

  • I saw that movie 2 weeks ago!

It was funny but also really sad....

  • -seizures from happiness just thinking about it-

  • me too! ^^

  • makes your heart race

  • Love the movie. Love the song.

  • I love this song! It's etherial and serene, while being advant-garde and mysterious. It's just beautiful.
