@kgpatrick21 Yellow Jackets do no make honey. They collect protean (other insects) and sweet stuff. This they feed to the young or themselves. At least in the colder climates, the new reproductives leave the nest in the fall. The workers and queen that are left in the nest to not survive the Winter.

heres what i do. i wait at about 7 oclock when the sun starts going down. then all the yellow jackets will pile in. then when theres a break for about 10 secs. i quickly pour isopropyl alcohol in the hole then grab a log that has a flat and level side and place over the hole then i let the vapors from the alcohol seep in then i grab a lighter and 1 gal of water and light a newspaper folder in half hot dog wise. then i light and let the flame hit the hole and toss the burning newspaper aside. :D

@JHoward393 then what i do is let the flame burn for a 1/4 a bottle it takes 3 mins to burn off. but the flame goes until the alcohol burns off and the best part is any new yellow jackets that show up wont go in for at least 5 mins then i pour more alcohol in and repeat to get almost all of them. which ever ones are still outside will die because they cannot get to their nest to rest for the night :DDD
