Rest now in thy graven bed oh thou, beauty once incarnate, fair friend and brother. Never forget Rozz Williams. This is indeed my favourite sad story...
Some say suicide is not an option, others commit suicide to get through their unsolved problems. In ancient civilazations, magicians buried the right hand of the suicide many inches far from the rest body. I say that suicide is a brave act at a moment of cowrdness. May the land is blessed on your grave Rozz.
i don't know why Rozz would kill himself was his life that bad? look at the people in Darfur or Rawanda or Afganistan where there is war and starvation and disease
@norxcontacts suicide is an act of rejecting the most precious gift -life- only a few people have the guts to kill themselves most of us even when we suffer we always hope that things will be better even when we are completely depressed so we cannot call 'coward' a person who did smt like that
Rozz was very influential in SoCal and the OC during the late 80's. I remember all of us deathrockers wanted to emulate him. We didn't have the internet back then, so we were really glad to get any info on Christian Death when we could get it. I met Rozz three times: he was as nice as pie each time.
If this song had a violin, I'm pretty sure the whole world would fucking explode because of the ultimate sadness it would cause.
Rozz Williams did so much good music, poetry and art. It's a shame that he's not that well known... His industrial stuff alone was miles ahead other noise projects, if you ask me.

@jazminekill you destroyed it when you said MJ this is an alternative against the mainstream music go comment about MJ n his POP friends on another video !
This right here is what music is made of: Pure poetry. Sure it's dark and sad but it's also a testimony from what the artist (Rozz) felt. I wish a lot more people would appreciate this kind of talent rather than swoon over the mainstream junk we have today

feels a bit ridiculous to miss someone you didn't know but somehow i still do.

It's easy to feel like you miss him, even if you didn't know him. For myself his music and voice carried me through hard times. His voice brings back significant memories and expresses the grief, sadness and emotional pain that can be overwhelming. Music often says things you cannot seem to express when your in the state of mind. If people who commit suicide really do go to some sort if hell or purgatory, I hope I meet you there.
I really do appreciate your love of Rozz and I'm not trying to talk shit, but I don't think he would have wanted you to kill yourself just to meet him. That's kind of ridiculous.
And its a right that religion holds claim to with fear. I definitely wouldn't condone suicide, but you're correct. Death is our only inalienable right. Kinda dark isn't it. Makes me think of Hunter S. Thompson - Now you see me, now you don't.
Complete BS, some people who suffer depression can't get the thought out of their head and think they have to kill themselves, even if they don't want to.
Whichever ass hat told you that, just place a knife in front of them and tell 'em to do themselves in, let's see how easy it is.
@TheFirearmEnthusiast Erm, I don't think you understand depression very well. There are people in an institution because they have not had a happy thought in 30 years. People with Bi-Polar, BPD, etc are much more likely to commit suicide than someone suffering from depression.
Suicide is a right that no one should ever take from you. Regardless of how you reason it, it is your right to kill yourself when and if (except physically harming someone else in the process) you see fit.
@TheFirearmEnthusiast I said suicide was his decision. Then you mentioned that "some people who suffer depression can't get the thought out of their head and think they have to kill themselves, even if they don't want to." which is irrelevant here.
I'm talking about Rozz, no one else. Aside from my belief that suicide is a right no one can, or rather should, ever take from you. Nor should they mock you for making the decision to end your life.
@TyeDyeGuyRy im untreated, i have mixed episodes, cyclothmia and an on and off psychosis at the moment an if u know about those they are pretty intense man, my disease is getting worse but i cant take meds,to me that isnt even an option, i am trying to find alternatives i think a blood pressure medication and a sleeping medicine would help with the psychosis and lack of rem sleep and it could help the mood a tiny bit.. and i couldnt live without the highs or lows even if i wanted to.
@TyeDyeGuyRy ya know after being off meds for so long, my psychosis and moods has gotten worse but my coping skills have gotten alot better, and my love life isnt all volitile like it was a year ago,10 pounds of emo in a five pound container, i looked at what i was doing wrong and i fixed it, but still got a long way to go. i think breakdowns are actually a part of a natural psychological healing process, A DANGEROUS ONE.
@TyeDyeGuyRy Suicide is far from cowardly, takes a lot of balls. I don't really approve but it was his life and his choice. Hopefully he's in better place.
@TyeDyeGuyRy We are not given the choice of life, yet we are given the choice of death. I would say life is a gift, even if it is painful. Experience itself is worthwhile. That said, there is a point in time in which life is no longer worthwhile. I quit working at a psychiatric hospital, partially, because I felt that a small minority of those people I was keeping from suicide would have actually been better off dead.
Sigh rozz..always gives me the question why the most amazing people have to die really..his work, music, lyrics, art, everything was so wonderfull- Hope his life is just as good now as i hope it will be for him.
This song always makes me want to cry. I visited him in Hollywood Forever, and there were fake flowers beside his ashes, and somebody left a piece of paper in the flowers that either said C.D. FOREVER, or just C.D. (can't remember, lost the pictures) and for whatever reason it was really touching.
He was talented. It's not making him out to more than he was. He was a talented man who's solo work showed he was the real mind behind any act he was apart of.
I don't care about all the bs surrounding Rozz's death. There's all this talk about betrayal.... I think we all betrayed him directly or indirectly. Over 10 years now since his death, I just found out now. I will take my share of the responsibility. He was just a human being. Let's try to give him the respect a human being deserves. I'm so sorry.
No, really, sometimes I doubt about his suicide, I've seen the death certificate and everything but I just keep doubting, maybe Rozz Williams did die, but not Roger Alan Painter.
I loved this. It was so appropriate, and you showed some of his Best collage. I'm so glad I got to see Rozz and Gitane Dimone doing spoken word here in San Francisco before his tragic end in the 1990's.
Actually Douchebag Valor wasn't supposed to play under the name Christian Death. Christian Death was Rozz's creation and when he left Valor promised he wouldn't use the name, and then turned around and stole it.
And supposedly Rozz faced other large betrayals in his lifetime but I don't know if those are unfounded speculations or not.
The truth still is, that Rozz didn't care about christian death. He was angry that Valor performed songs from OToP even though no one in the band was making that album. Rozz made reunion shows only because he got money from it.
At the time Rozz was more interested in his solo work and noise projects.
Lately I've been trying to not make any speculations about him. I feel like he was a person you know and i shouldn't try to make him into some divine fantasy like some people do.
Such a beautiful sad song, reflects Rozz himself. RIP Rozz, you were deep and full of emotion. Thank you for expressing it musically so we could enjoy it!
never could understand mourning over someone i never knew. great artist, very inspiring. a shame that he died but really get over it. if u ever checked out norway's black metal band mayhem the dude blew out his brains with a shot gun & the band members put the picture of him with his brains splattered across the wall on their live album cover. i think that's an ultimate statement & the best way to remember the dude whoever he was was, & the legacy of sick fucked up shit lives on! hail satan !
Well, all who don't like Rozz etc. go fuck off!!! If you don't like him, continue not liking him, but don't say here he sucks, he bitch and all other crap. I like Christian Death and many people like Chrisitan Death. I like Rozz and many people do, so please, shut the fuck up and don't say he is bad or else. We all never said Valor is shit, so behave yourself. Hope you understand. Good luck deathrockers!
I don't even know where to begin with this......Valor wouldn't have a fucking name for himself if he hadn't joined that "damn junkie"'s band
If had SO much talent why couldn't he go off and start his own band instead of wrongly using a name of a band that already had noteriaty which he had NOTHING to do with getting

I loved this. It was so appropriate, and you showed some of his Best collage. I'm so glad I got to see Rozz and Gitane Dimone doing spoken word here in San Francisco before his tragic end in the 1990's.

Was Rozz murdered or did he commit suicide?

suicide, 1998

I think one could say that Rozz was murdered by betrayal.
MasterBlade4 2 years ago
Betrayal? Are you referring to Valor's acquisition of Christian Death?
stealthkiller2107 2 years ago
Yeah
MasterBlade4 2 years ago
HE QUIT THE BAND IN 1984! No one took Christian Death away from Rozz. He abandoned it, and then decided he wanted it back in the early 90s.
RoseCrossVato 2 years ago
Actually Douchebag Valor wasn't supposed to play under the name Christian Death. Christian Death was Rozz's creation and when he left Valor promised he wouldn't use the name, and then turned around and stole it.
And supposedly Rozz faced other large betrayals in his lifetime but I don't know if those are unfounded speculations or not.
MasterBlade4 2 years ago
The truth still is, that Rozz didn't care about christian death. He was angry that Valor performed songs from OToP even though no one in the band was making that album. Rozz made reunion shows only because he got money from it.
At the time Rozz was more interested in his solo work and noise projects.
Such a lovely song
Assiman 2 years ago
I suppose that's true.
Lately I've been trying to not make any speculations about him. I feel like he was a person you know and i shouldn't try to make him into some divine fantasy like some people do.
MasterBlade4 2 years ago 3
Yup, but I think it's still safe to say that he was a musical and poetic genius
Assiman 2 years ago 3
True. At heart, he was just a person, but I think that makes him all the more beautiful, to be fragile humanity, like all of us.

Love the pics and the tribute. There was just something about rozz indeed.. beyond the dramatic exterior
he had a beautiful soul.
Rozz forever.

never could understand mourning over someone i never knew. great artist, very inspiring. a shame that he died but really get over it. if u ever checked out norway's black metal band mayhem the dude blew out his brains with a shot gun & the band members put the picture of him with his brains splattered across the wall on their live album cover. i think that's an ultimate statement & the best way to remember the dude whoever he was was, & the legacy of sick fucked up shit lives on! hail satan !

Get real!!!!
Valor took christian death to new heights.
While Rozz was under the dilution he was a some sort of victorian era poet."
Valor fanboys are annoying. At least Rozz had talent.

He's a pathetic leech and nothing more
Rozz was a true artist.....
