@mattdrummer620 i just bought a walmart mongoose.i dont ride much and i thought it was a good bike .ihad a mongoose when i was a kid back then it cost my parent $500..and thats 30 yrs ago..whats wrong with the bike i bought i paid $200 for it ??

@prestigekids1 they are just very cheaply made. i work at a bike shop, and the repairs people bring in are mostly walmart bikes (next, huffy, mongoose, etc) and the quality is very poor on those bikes. the bikes you see on the mongoose website and the bikes that their sponsors ride are not made the same way as the ones you buy at walmart. but as for your bike, if you dont leave it outside, and every 6 months to a year take it to a bike shop to get it tuned and looked over, it'll be just fine

@prestigekids1 Walmart bikes aren't really made by Mongoose. Walmart just bought the rights to use the Mongoose logo. Now they print it on their no-name frames. Your bike has nothing in common with those bikes in the video.

Don't be fooled Mongoose is owned by Pacific bicycle. They are banking on the fact that people think of Mongoose and quality. The truth is most of the bikes they produce are cheap junk sold through mass merchant stores.

@kona2828 ride a boot'r and a trek Y5 and one of marins 4 link downhillers and tell me a quality difference. there is a fake pacific (pathetic)-borrowed mongoose, and there is REAL true mongoose. i own a boot'r. and its PERFECT. downhill bike perfection. i also own a salsa ala carte, gary fisher marlin, marin fairfax, and two trek OCLVs and a trek 420 from 1975. so i have some good bikes and a REAL non walmart mongoose fits in great. :)

@kona2828 yeah so if you want a high quality mongoose unfortunately u have to find one that was made any time before year 2000..like in late 70's or 80's or 90's and hope it is in mint condition or you could restore it.

wishful thinking that mongoose is dominant today. try commencal, santa cruz and specialized for the mtb category and for bmx i hear a lot about dk or something. mongoose is not that special. but that's for setting up a format for mountainbiking.

I had one with motomags growing up. Even the pads on that son of a bitch were heavy! It weighed about 35 pounds but you couldn't break a part on it. I miss it.

Rode a Supergoose back in the eighties and these days you'll find me on a rare occasion on a Craig Reynolds CRX. Mongoose used to be the shit but they lost a lot of confidence fom the public due to the low-end stuff they produce now.

low end? that's an understatement...more like shit, i used my dad's mongoose e303, and went really easy on it, and almost every thing you can think of broke on it, or went wrong, im getting a specialized hardrock disc today so I don't have to deal wiht it any more, but when the brake cables snap after a month of use at the proper setting, there's a problem...
